[Newb Guide] How to calibrate your battery, the good 'ol fashioned way - Galaxy Ace S5830 General

Well,I've seen many people ask this question, on random forums, so I'm just copy-pasting a post I made somewhere else, and that's just about it.
Anyway, why do all of you prefer going after other apps that do all the work for you?. Anyway, seeing as none of them ended up working for you #evil laugh# , you could always do this.
TheWeirdOne's guide to battery calibration, for dummies.
1) Get your battery charged (yes, that's a hundred percent , to you)
2) Now, I'm assuming that all of you have a version of CWM that replaced the crappy stock recovery, so boot into recovery.
(If you don't , here's the link for CWM 4.0.0.9. www.forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1168417 Mine's running on a version of five, but four should work swell, too)
3) Now, go to Advanced, and then choose
'wipe battery stats.'
Ta-Da, and that's about it! . Oh, and
another thing. Once you Do that, DO NOT, I
repeat, do not charge your phone, just wait
for the battery to run out, and that's about
it.
Ps. My phone lasts for about one-and- a-
half to two days, right now, and that' s not
on standby, to those sarcastic ones out
there.
And here's the usual 'Oooh, if I actually
helped one of you guys out, please click
that big, 'thanks button, naw?'

hey dis process is doing 1 tyme only or everytyme after charging my phone ?????

It's recommended every time you flash a new ROM.
But generally I use it every time I think my battery is miscalibrated.

Exactly. Say, does that cm9 alpha work for any of you out there, then?

hey i knw dat ..bt i asked u ...wen i charge my phone ..then everytyme i should wipe battery state ? or it can do only first tyme...

It is strictly recommended to wipe battery stats as soon as u change d rom. It can b done once u change ur rom. Its always better to wipe battery stats once every month or once in 1 weeks.
EDIT: once in 2 weeks. Sorry, my bad.

I did this method recently and my battery is now back to full strength.
100% for 10 hours on standby now down to 75% after some usage but callibrated 2 days ago and still going.
ICS2 bare bones rom really good for battery life.

And yes, as some people say, it's mostly done whenever you flash a new rom, but if you think your battery's screwing up, you could go ahead, and press that button! #Melodrama#
Oh, and on another completely unrelated note... Oh wait, it's related.
There's only so much that your battery's run-time can increase once you callibrate it, and there's always a point where calibrating won't help, not in the slightest. #Makes weepy face#. And,that's when you buy a new battery, random people.
Oh, and thank you! . Normally, I'd quote your post, and all, but I prefer using opera, over the FDA app, somehow. And, I'd have to scroll quite a bit to find your post :|

battery life sucks why ?... because this rom is a port of my kitchen stove and parts mocrowave , and its european version on top of it .
what's the quad score?!? Is it toasting faster?! Do I have to take the toast out before I flash it??

Help! Power Button Not Working Correctly

Ever Since i flashed Ciaox's Open Optimus 2.202 the power button is not functioning properly.
I have to press it for like 20 sec to get a power menu and sometimes i won't get it at all.So i have to retry its very annoying.Even the screen wouldn't turnoff from a single click.
I thought there might be some problem with ciax's Gb rom but no i was wrong the problem persists even with GB 2.3.3 Official ROM ,it is very irritating to say the least.
This problem started after i first installed Miks Cm7 it was negligible back then but now it is horrible.
Anyone else facing this problem?
Your help is in the LG service center where they can change the faulty button.
ive been having this problem too but i dunno if its cuz of rom or the fact that i have it for 8 months and something ...ive been thinking about opening my phone up and see whats what...but as i read ure post i might consider going back to stock rom just to try and see if the buttons are working correctly but until then i might grow about 30 cm of nails ^_^ ahaha... im too lazy goddamit
I have this phone since 2months only,it is pretty new...some one mentioned that there is a bug in Mik's Cm7 that causes this issue. To take to to the service centre i have to go back to the stock ROM .. flash oldbaseband ectra ectra..long process

<runs off to nand... then flash>
ok, i made a nandroid backup.. then just flashed over my existing working daily driving CM7.. didn't wipe anything (wanted to just try a flash without wipe)..
Confirmed working on CM7 w/ Joker's 1.3 overclock kernel. First boot takes a while.. almost so long that I was pondering doing a battery pull.. but i waited.. (I had 45% battery left LOL).. after first boot I let all my widgets load etc.. then did another reboot (per the OP linked thread).. this thing seems SUPER snappy.. I'll report back tomorrow with my impression of battery usage improvements based on what's normal usage for me.
So far.. so good.. although the second boot seemed to take a bit longer.. it almost hangs a little on the moto screen.. but it WILL boot..
EDIT: forgot to mention, I have my phone set to 1gig max speed.. I am not overclocked (although I'm running the OC kernel).
Hope this helps (remember to hit the thanks button for me being the guinea pig)
so far I've ran it for a day phone boots faster, screen transitions are quicker no sign of lag any where not sure about battery cause I use my phone constantly but I get around 8-10 hours on a battery will see how that fares. but do far so good no fc, no lags, internet loads fast maybe just on my mind but I say its doing its thing me likey

Umm... no. Its not. For it to happen to a lot of people on different roms and kernels? You really think its a kernel issue?
It's probably an issue with cwm and it's also probably related to the type of kernel. To say the truth, I don't think it's that big a deal. It has posed no real problems to me when flashing, and if anything, removing the battery will do the trick. A minor inconvenience in an otherwise perfect tool.

Its not a big deal, but its annoying. You'll have to wait till your phone boots to be able to turn it off. Taking off the case, then taking off the battery cover and taking out the battery is a lot of work to just turn your phone off.
