Guys heres one F***** News For Neo V development............
Sony Ericsson releases official ICS Alpha ROMs for Xperia Arc S, Ray and neo V
Important information
Since this is far from the final software upgrade roll out, there are a few things to pay close attention to before you download and install the ROM:
You should be an advanced developer with extensive knowledge in how to install, and switch between different ROMs. If you are a consumer without these developer skills, then we strongly recommend you not do try this as you may damage your phone.
You must be using Xperia™ arc S, Xperia™ neo V or Xperia™ ray, running the latest Sony Ericsson software release (which is 4.0.2.A.0.42). Please note that you can’t use the original Xperia™ arc or Xperia™ neo, as they have different partition layouts.
You must unlock your phone using Sony Ericsson’s Unlock boot loader service, and agree to all the legal and warranty conditions that apply. Please note that you may void the warranty of your phone and/or any warranty from your operator if you unlock the boot loader of your phone. Sony Ericsson can then no longer guarantee the full functionality of your phone, and will not be responsible for any unusable functions or loss of personal data associated to the alpha ROM being flashed to the phone. Please pay special attention to the following legal statement before downloading (the full statement is available on the download link):
“You must acknowledge that the software is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express, or implied, and to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.”
Also, if you unlock the boot loader, you will not be able to download and install the final Ice Cream Sandwich software upgrade from Sony Ericsson. For additional information on limitations and warranty, please see the Sony Ericsson Unlock boot loader service.
You should have read through and acknowledged the limitations of the software described below.
You must read and accept the end user license agreement on the download link, before you can download the alpha ROM zip file.
Limitations and functionality
The number of features and functionalities working and turned on in this alpha ROM are very limited. This is because many features are not yet certified, and in a few cases because we have more work to do on certain features, as they are still in the Bring up phase. These are some of the features turned off or not yet working in this alpha ROM:
Google Mobile Services (GMS) apps are not included (for example, Gmail, Google Maps, etc.).
Modem is turned off and SIM card will therefore not be recognised (this also means you can’t make any phone calls).
Bluetooth™ is turned off.
Wi-Fi® is turned off.
ANT+ is turned off.
FM-radio is turned off.
In other words, this software is not intended for ordinary everyday usage – it is for demonstration purposes only.
New features:
[*]New “Roboto” font.
[*]New “Holo” theme is supported (you are able to test apps written to make use of the Holo theme).
[*]Music player control from lock screen.
[*]Updated UI in the Settings menu.
[*]Updated UI in the web browser.
[*]Updated UI and interaction with the new messaging action bar.
[*]Updated UI for improved multitasking.
[*]Swipe to dismiss notifications, tasks and browser tabs in the Notification menu.
Download and install
Follow the instructions below to download and install the alpha ROM. Please note that it only works with Xperia™ arc S, Xperia™ neo V and Xperia™ ray.
[*]Make sure your phone is running the latest software release, which is build number 4.0.2.A.0.42. If not, upgrade your phone through PC Companion. If you can’t upgrade to this build number, it is not possible to try the Ice Cream Sandwich alpha ROM for Xperia™ phones.
[*]Go to unlockbootloader.sonyericsson.com and unlock the boot loader of your phone. To do this, you must read through and agree to all the legal and warranty conditions that apply.
[*]Download the Ice Cream Sandwich alpha ROM for Xperia™ arc S (132MB),The Ice Cream Sandwich alpha ROM for Xperia™ neo V (131MB),The Ice Cream Sandwich alpha ROM for Xperia™ ray (132MB)depending on your phone model.
[*]Extract the downloaded zip file to your Android Fastboot directory. For example: ..\android-sdk\fastboot\Xperia_arcS_ICS_alpha.
[*]Open a command prompt and go to your Fastboot directory: ..\android-sdk\fastboot\
[*]Flash the three alpha ROM files one at a time using Fastboot. Use these three commands (replace the folder name if you are using Xperia™ neo V or Xperia™ ray):
[*]fastboot flash boot ..\Fastboot\Xperia_arcS_ICS_alpha\boot.img
[*]fastboot flash userdata ..\Fastboot\Xperia_arcS_ICS_alpha\userdata.img
[*]fastboot flash system ..\Fastboot\Xperia_arcS_ICS_alpha\system.img
[*]Once done, please reboot your phone And Enjoy......

Q:What is BlendMIUI Speed-Porting Software For XPERIA 2011
Ans:This is a short program trying to help you guys to build your own BlendMIUI rom for Xperia 2011 devices in just few minutes.
Q:How to use it?
Unlock Bootloader first!
1.Download BMSPS(BlendMIUI Speed-Porting Software) then unpack it to anywhere you like(Windows environment).Btw,you should install JAVA SE JRE first or it won't works because it needs JAVA environment to sign the rom.You can goto oracle.com/java to download the latest Java SE JRE.
2.Download latest MIUI rom for Desire HD from miui.us(or anywhere you want).
3.Rename the rom you just downloaded as MIUI.zip then put it into /MIUI_DHD_ROM directory.(Do not rename it as MIUI.zip.zip!)
4.Run BMSPS_luancher.exe to start.
5.Do as follows then it will automatically create update.zip under the BMSPS directory.
Then you have two choices:
=>Help youself:
6.Put the update.zip rom to your SD-card.
7.Flash BlendMIUI kernel(I have put it into \BlendMIUI-kernel directory) or DooMKernel for MIUI.
8.Use CWM-recovery to flash the update.zip rom.
=>Use Auto-Flash Function
You don't need to do anything on your phone,it will help you to do all works automatically and boot into the new system!
Features:
1.Support Devices: Xperia Arc,Xperia Arc S,Xperia NEO,Xperia NEO V,Xperia Ray,Xperia Play.
2.Latest CM7.2.0 rebuilted sources as base.
3.Automatically port MIUI for your device then create unpdate.zip and sign the rom to let you flash it into your device directly.
4.Your choice Function (addons)
5.Fully working Auto-Flash Function
P.S: CM7 sources and kernel for XPERIA RAY are come from bheremans.
Changelog for Version 02:
1.Add moded Packageinstall to let you chose where you would like to install your apps including SD-card.
2.Fixed function to remind you to install java-jre if update.zip is not created.
3.Small changes.
Changelog for Version 03:
1.Fixed PackageInstaller and Torch FC problem when using the ROM from www.miui.com as base.
2.Automatically recognize MIUI version (Depends on the MIUI rom you use) and change Build version for porting rom.
3.Add "Your Choice" function to help you customize your own BlendMIUI rom(BlendUI,DSPManager,Tweaks,Audios from SE).
4.[For DEVs] Whole-New Source code:More easy to read, more easy to add new language(I mean the BMSPS itself) and new functions.
Changelog for Version 04:
1.Disable echoing information for better display.
2.Fixes and improve performance of BMSPS.
3.Add "Auto-Flash" function to help you flash BlendMIUI automatically
Changelog for Version 04.3:
1.Add Xperia Ray ST18i support(All sources for Xperia Ray are come from bheremans).
2.Fixed Auto-Flash function.
3.Fixed ADB Detective bug which cause the software stuck at entering into Auto-Flash function when you input "yes".
Changelog for Version 04.7:
1.Add Xperia Neo V support.
2.Fully working Auto-Flash function (You don't need to do anything on your phone now until it boots into the new system.BMSPS will help you to do everything automatically.)
3.Some small changes
Changelog for Version 05.0:
1.Add Xperia Play R800i support.
2.Add confirm function to avoid error selection.
WARNING:
1.This is not an update-package and you'd better delete all old files if you have installed early version of BMSPS.
2.Make sure you have unlocked bootloader before using this tool.
3.Baseband 56 is highly recommanded(based on .42 official firmware).

also works on r800x , I'm sure but may have bugs since r800x is an CDMA phone.
My friend told me it works fine on Xperia Play and AutoFlash function works correctly.
What should you do before using this tool to port and flash MIUI rom:
1.Install fastboot driver.
2.Flash .42 official firmware(if you are already on baseband 56 you don't need to flash it again)
3.Turn on your phone and connect it to your PC using usb cable with USB-Storage Mode closed.
Then:
Use BMSPS to port MIUI rom from miui.us and use Auto-Flash function to let software help you flash the kernel and rom automatically.
(You'd better chose wipe data and cache when BMSPS ask you or it may not boot correctly)
something is wrong with mediafire...
EDIT: Problem is gone. Maybe just some server issues.

This did not work for me, the tool just crashs, but i think it is a promblem of my pc. I have the Beta Build wich JasonStein created and there are the only real bugs bluetooth and touchpads. It should be very similar with this.

Looks like I will stick with stock.
The only reason I won't use a custom Rom is because most of them have reported issues with the touchscreens.

@KeiranFTW: The Touchscreen issues ppl talk about aren't noticeable at all.
It's just like 2-3 pixles that don't register (from all angles, as far as i know)..
Though i wonder why it's not fixed, yet. :O

Was on my phone when I posted that so it autocorrected "touchpads" to "touchscreen" LoL.
Didn't know there was any touchscreen issues but without the touchpad some games I find hard to play.
Just installed on my r800i. Wifi, Camera, Flash and buttons work fine. Bluetooth does not start. I have not tested touchpads yet.

Hi all,
Please someone can help me how i can add a language pack to BMSPS_LANGUAGE folder????
and where i can find him??
thanks in advance
Main things to test:
1. WIFI
2. Bluetooth
3. Camera
4. Touchpads
5. Data
Dont forget to test Camera in Barcode Scanners
wifi data camera torch working
touchpads and bluetooth not.
The kernel from DooMLoRD is from the fxp 045 (or something) that doesn't have bluetooth and touchpads.
If DooMLoRD have time he will change it and maybe it is working than

If anyone is able to download it and make the ftf file, please upload it....
if you have downloaded please follow this guide: http://mytechencounters.wordpress.c...eate-an-ftf-file-of-your-xperia-ics-firmware/

Hehe.. I have actually bookmarked that link on my browser
But the problem is that I have exceeded the 'fair usage' data limit for this month and my broadband has reverted to slow speed connection!!
Oh, what I wouldn't give for the first of December to get here faster!!!

I don't know if it will work even though the P and Sola are mostly based on the same hardware.... I am sure the update for Sola and U is not far behind as PTCRB has listed this firmware version for all these devices...
Btw, flashing the XP via flashtool will lose root and you can regain root by any of above mentioned kernels on unlocked bootloader.... For locked bootloader, I don't think there is a method to get root as of now...

Hi all,
You may be aware of recent news about 2
different security vulnerabilities that allow
replacing code on a signed APK while maintaining
the original signature.
Master Key (Bug 8219321)
An issue related with duplicate entries on the
ZIP / APK files.
It was patched by Google back in February 2013
and shared with OEMs, and some of the newer
devices might have already received the fix in a
recent stock update.
Bug 9695860
This also originates in the ZIP file parsing
routines, and was disclosed just a few days ago
immediately after the previous one was made
public. The correction has already been applied by
Google to the code.
You can use 3rd party apps to test if your system has that bug,
such as:
- SRT AppScanner
- Bluebox Security Scanner
On Android 4.3 both of these bugs should be
fixed, as well as on the latest CM's.
While technically different, both of these
vulnerabilities permit that legitimate APKs can be
manipulated to replace the original code with
arbitrary one without breaking the signature. This
allows someone to take an update from a well
known publisher (e.g. Google Maps), change the
APK, and a device receiving it will happily apply
the update as if it was indeed from that
publisher. Depending on the apps being updated
in this way, priviledge escalation can be achieved.
Google has already mentioned that all apps
published on the Play Store are checked for this
kind of manipulation, but those of us installing
APKs from other sources aren't safe.
Installation steps
1. Reboot to CWM
2. Flash the file
3. Wipe dalvik cache
4. Reboot to system

I have a Sony Xperia P (Sony LT22i), Jellybean. the phone dialer application, I call someone, it takes like for the app to respond and call him or sometimes it doesn't call and I have to restart the phone. If someone calls me, it says that the app isn't responding, please close it, the phone freezes and i have to restart it,
"The phone activity app isn't responding, would you like to close it?"
I removed many apps, still the problem is the same, tried clearing the Dialer cache, didn't fix it, I did a factory reset, didn't fix it.
I contacted the Sony Xperia support team in USA though live chat, the agent wasn't helpful, he told me to reinstall Jellybean update, he says it might fix it, I reinstalled the update, didn't fix it. My brother has an Xperia S, and he sometimes experience the same issue, I'm sure that there's a serious bug in the Jellybean version released for Xperia P and S.
I tried downgrading or installing Xperia Legacy, but I can't find the right tools, nor the right ROMs, I found a link on xda forums*, it tells you to get the tools from some other page, the other page tells you to download the tools from 4shared.com and 4shared has deleted the items.
(can't post links yet, I'm new user, but if you google "install xperia legacy", it takes you to an xda forum post, the post tells you to grab the tools from another website, the other site tells you to download them from 4shared, 4shared tells you, that the links has been removed).
Therefore I have 2 questions:
Is there a way to debug/reinstall/ or fix the phone dialer app?
If not, then how to downgrade the Android version or how to install Xperia legacy? As i said, the xperia forums don't offer anything, xda links are broken.

I din't have many issues with the phone/dialer, but I don't make a lot of calls.
If you wish to downgrade you need to download flashtool, and find a firmware that is compatible with your phone and flash it.
Normaly exclude(check) TA in the exclude list.
