[XP] [PSA] Update to 6.1.1.B.1.54 - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hey guys! I just connected my phone to the laptop and got a notification from PCC for an update.... and it's 6.1.1.B.1.54 !!!
Anyway, I have pressed OK and downloading it now, but pretty sure that I can't update it as I have already unlocked and rooted my phone... anyone else got anything?
If anyone is able to download it and make the ftf file, please upload it....

if you have downloaded please follow this guide: http://mytechencounters.wordpress.c...eate-an-ftf-file-of-your-xperia-ics-firmware/
you will help everyone

Hehe.. I have actually bookmarked that link on my browser
But the problem is that I have exceeded the 'fair usage' data limit for this month and my broadband has reverted to slow speed connection!!
Oh, what I wouldn't give for the first of December to get here faster!!!

Thanks in Advance

Is this good for XP Sola?
Hi,
Can you use this update in XP Sola? My Wifi on 6.1.B.1.10 is not working (when the phone goes to sleep, it can not wake up the Wifi connection. Only workaround is to reboot it?
Thanks

I don't know if it will work even though the P and Sola are mostly based on the same hardware.... I am sure the update for Sola and U is not far behind as PTCRB has listed this firmware version for all these devices...
Btw, flashing the XP via flashtool will lose root and you can regain root by any of above mentioned kernels on unlocked bootloader.... For locked bootloader, I don't think there is a method to get root as of now...

Official Ice Cream Sandwich alpha ROM available for unlocked Xperia™ phones

Guys heres one F***** News For Neo V development............
Sony Ericsson releases official ICS Alpha ROMs for Xperia Arc S, Ray and neo V
Important information
Since this is far from the final software upgrade roll out, there are a few things to pay close attention to before you download and install the ROM:
You should be an advanced developer with extensive knowledge in how to install, and switch between different ROMs. If you are a consumer without these developer skills, then we strongly recommend you not do try this as you may damage your phone.
You must be using Xperia™ arc S, Xperia™ neo V or Xperia™ ray, running the latest Sony Ericsson software release (which is 4.0.2.A.0.42). Please note that you can’t use the original Xperia™ arc or Xperia™ neo, as they have different partition layouts.
You must unlock your phone using Sony Ericsson’s Unlock boot loader service, and agree to all the legal and warranty conditions that apply. Please note that you may void the warranty of your phone and/or any warranty from your operator if you unlock the boot loader of your phone. Sony Ericsson can then no longer guarantee the full functionality of your phone, and will not be responsible for any unusable functions or loss of personal data associated to the alpha ROM being flashed to the phone. Please pay special attention to the following legal statement before downloading (the full statement is available on the download link):
“You must acknowledge that the software is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express, or implied, and to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.”
Also, if you unlock the boot loader, you will not be able to download and install the final Ice Cream Sandwich software upgrade from Sony Ericsson. For additional information on limitations and warranty, please see the Sony Ericsson Unlock boot loader service.
You should have read through and acknowledged the limitations of the software described below.
You must read and accept the end user license agreement on the download link, before you can download the alpha ROM zip file.
Limitations and functionality
The number of features and functionalities working and turned on in this alpha ROM are very limited. This is because many features are not yet certified, and in a few cases because we have more work to do on certain features, as they are still in the Bring up phase. These are some of the features turned off or not yet working in this alpha ROM:
Google Mobile Services (GMS) apps are not included (for example, Gmail, Google Maps, etc.).
Modem is turned off and SIM card will therefore not be recognised (this also means you can’t make any phone calls).
Bluetooth™ is turned off.
Wi-Fi® is turned off.
ANT+ is turned off.
FM-radio is turned off.
In other words, this software is not intended for ordinary everyday usage – it is for demonstration purposes only.
New features:
[*]New “Roboto” font.
[*]New “Holo” theme is supported (you are able to test apps written to make use of the Holo theme).
[*]Music player control from lock screen.
[*]Updated UI in the Settings menu.
[*]Updated UI in the web browser.
[*]Updated UI and interaction with the new messaging action bar.
[*]Updated UI for improved multitasking.
[*]Swipe to dismiss notifications, tasks and browser tabs in the Notification menu.
Download and install
Follow the instructions below to download and install the alpha ROM. Please note that it only works with Xperia™ arc S, Xperia™ neo V and Xperia™ ray.
[*]Make sure your phone is running the latest software release, which is build number 4.0.2.A.0.42. If not, upgrade your phone through PC Companion. If you can’t upgrade to this build number, it is not possible to try the Ice Cream Sandwich alpha ROM for Xperia™ phones.
[*]Go to unlockbootloader.sonyericsson.com and unlock the boot loader of your phone. To do this, you must read through and agree to all the legal and warranty conditions that apply.
[*]Download the Ice Cream Sandwich alpha ROM for Xperia™ arc S (132MB),The Ice Cream Sandwich alpha ROM for Xperia™ neo V (131MB),The Ice Cream Sandwich alpha ROM for Xperia™ ray (132MB)depending on your phone model.
[*]Extract the downloaded zip file to your Android Fastboot directory. For example: ..\android-sdk\fastboot\Xperia_arcS_ICS_alpha.
[*]Open a command prompt and go to your Fastboot directory: ..\android-sdk\fastboot\
[*]Flash the three alpha ROM files one at a time using Fastboot. Use these three commands (replace the folder name if you are using Xperia™ neo V or Xperia™ ray):
[*]fastboot flash boot ..\Fastboot\Xperia_arcS_ICS_alpha\boot.img
[*]fastboot flash userdata ..\Fastboot\Xperia_arcS_ICS_alpha\userdata.img
[*]fastboot flash system ..\Fastboot\Xperia_arcS_ICS_alpha\system.img
[*]Once done, please reboot your phone And Enjoy......

Changelog:
Alpha v1 - 2012.01.14
Initial release
OK. First thoughts:
The kernel installed OK. When I installed the ROM I got a display saying 'Random offset 0x3e6' in CWM. I'm not sure if that's normal.
Nice boot animation, but now I'm stuck with ICS in landscape mode, even if I click my keyboard open/shut.
p.s. If my earlier post got in the way of your ROM announcements please feel free to have a forum moderator delete it.

That's the rotation bug.
Sent from my SK17i using XDA App
Oh, kamarush, I forgot it mentioned the rotation in the opening post. Never mind. It looks great and the menu's are really slick. Sometimes if I mess around with the launchers I can get portrait for a short while.
First point. There's no file manager included for me to install apps from SD, so I try to do it in Terminal but Terminal won't allow me to use the blue square shift key on the keyboard to enable special characters. So I can't use Terminal for install. Gonna try installing Root Explorer from my PC.
By the way, my keyboard lights seem to be working OK.
Turn off auto-rotate screen in settings -> display to leave landscape mode
Edit: Guess that only works until you leave the menu.
Over in the FreeXperia thread they say that they have data working from some networks, but not for others.
So I thought I'd manually enter my APN details. I got it all typed in but when you hit the menu button and then save it doesn't store the APN. The list of APN's stays blank. I tried this twice but no joy.
Any idea when we might get data working?
If data worked I could use this ROM daily, even if it is buggy.
Quite different from CM9 and this one does't have glitches
I would recommend this one to have at this moment instead of FXP103 CM9
BUT still need lots of work to finish and many touches to this built to get stability .... Waiting for more fixes
Keep up good work !
Please report bugs.

Should we assume this contains the broken sync that Verizon pushed out OTA?
Downloading now. Can't wait to check it out. Thank you!!
For anyone wondering, yes, google sync is still broken in this FTF... nonetheless, its nice to have a flashable file for this.. Thank you so much!! Also Im going to try flashing this baseband on some GSM ICS roms to see how it affects data... will post results shortly.
For developmental use, here is the kernel.. https://hotfile.com/dl/158961355/2b05c38/kernel.sin.html
On a side note.. I modified the 2.34 FTF to include all the original files, but I instead replaced the system.sin with the one from the 2.33 FTF and everything works fine.... which is odd because I thought I would have force close issues with the camera, but I do not..
yeah, it will be helpful.

So you got the benefits of 2.3.4 but with system apps from 2.3.3 and no FC? Also did you try flashing the baseband from the ftf to a GSM ICS rom? Speaking of that which file is the baseband in this ftf? And if you can flash the baseband from this ftf what is the command to type in for it? Thanks
Is this the FTF of the official 2.3.4 R800x firmware? I've been away for a while.

Actually by using the system file from the 2.33 FTF and leaving the rest of the files from 2.3.4, I really don't get any of the 2.3.4 benefits because it's essentially running 2.33s system apps. I believe the system.sin/system.img files contain the system apps, libs, and framework.. which is the bulk of what the FTF file actually is. amss and amss_zeus are the primary baseband files I think (to be sure, exclude everything but the baseband on flashtool.. it will show you what files are considered to be in the baseband)... I haven't gotten around to flashing the GSM roms with this baseband because I haven't had time today like I thought I would... however considering that 2.33 system works with this same baseband, I'm assuming that the baseband isn't any different. By the way, does anyone know what the vendor files use is in this FTF? No previous CDMA FTF files contain it.
Edit: OK KA13/14 does get a CDMA signal when flashing this baseband, but it's on constant roaming, and I do not know why.... The latest ICS rom ported from the arc gets no signal at all after flashing this baseband... I'm going to experiment with baseband flashing and different CDMA fixes as well as the r800i to r800x converter... I'll keep you all posted.

Hey Pax, I actually tried that already.. I use the *22899 option (auto activation and PRL update) but for some reason on KA and most Sony ICS beta based GSM roms, when you try to do activation through verizon, it will act like it completes activation and then plays an unusual beeping sound, and activation ultimately always fails ...
Also tried dialing *#*#4636#*#*from the dialer and changing the network mode to WCDMA, CDMA auto PRL, etc.. (basically all the CDMA options)....any ideas? I'm wondering if the VZW setup wizard along with the VZW libs not being present in GSM roms could affect ability to activate phone?

You GSM users are so lucky! Has anyone on CDMA ever tried to use CDMA workshop to flash a new PRL?? Maybe something like this would be key for GSM to CDMA conversion. I did that on my droid X to get the cricket rom and get off of verizons firmware.

No man its been the same , but i didnt try another rom so , but i doubt it is the cyanogenmod causing the problem since it always worked great, i just want to know if this is a hardware problem or software one.

If back button stops working sometimes, try opening keyboard(xperia or aosp whichever) and then try again to see if back button works or not.
If it works- it means your keyboard gets killed and as a result back button stops working or you have greenified keyboard or it occurs after you exit from heavy games. Try it

Hi Guys
Well my phone have the Cyanogenmod Cm 11 Kit Kat 4.4.4 installed and was working really fine , now it has the last update from cyanogenmod, and the other day without any drop or whatever ,my touchscreen started to fail a bit like sometimes it responded and sometimes not, to the point where now the only key that works is the back key and the physical home button, everything else is dead i cant touch anywhere now, can you tell me if this is a hardware problem or a software ? i installed many versions of cyanogenmod to test, but the screen still dont respond, now i have installed the last update 4.4.4, need help please.

Can someone explani me these steps better? do i need to go to CWM to install the zips? or just with the flashtool? Im newbie in this
Fix 9: By flashing Real ICS R6: (Credits: Kenzeu ; here)
Steps:
1. Flash .62 firmware for your device
2. Flash rage kernel for gingerbread
3. Flash Real ICS R6 rom (choose the wrong device)
4. Reboot (don't pull the battery, boot it. If it's no booting for nearly 3 minutes, pull battery and go on)
5. Flash the stock firmware for your device
6. Touch should work now!

Real ICS R6 rom should be in your memory card
First flash 0.62 ftf file using flashtool program
Now flash rage kernel using flashtool program
Go to CWM, flash Real ICS rom...... but select wrong device e.g if your mobile is mini pro, select satsuma(active) as your phone
Reboot (don't pull the battery, boot it. If it's no booting for nearly 3 minutes, pull battery and go on)
Flash again 0.62 ftf using flashtool program
Check if touch is working now
If unsuccessfull, try other methods.. no choice:crying:
If all methods fail, then only repair the touchscreen. By friend also had sam problems but after such tedious process his touchscreen worked finally

Please ask in the beanstalk thread, I have never used it.

C5 ultra optimization

SO since we have successfully rooted and unlocked the phone
its time to finally optimize the performance and user experience for the phone
so post your suggestions, experiments or tweaks you already know .
so starting off first will obviously be the removal of stock apps and also the crashmonitor.apk
i also use setCPU for screenOFF and gaming profiling and governor switching
I still am not sure which i/o works best, cfq or any else so suggestions are welcome
i am trying some tweaks to so will update soon
CHEERS !
Greenify for battery optimization!
Also Flashing Xposed and running several mods. I highly recommend Apps Ops Xposed. You can manually select any apps/system apps and prevent them from causing wake locks/alarms and draining battery...
Hey i tried to use a custom bootanimation .. Replaced the file .. Gave permissions.. But it doesn't work...
So can anyone upload the stock bootanimation.. Or any working one if anyone has modified it?
well did remove the crash monitor.apk doesn't break the phone?

Nope it doesn't break the phone... I deleted it coz it was continuously running in background and eating both ram and cpu
Also even though i change the resolution of the device.. I still can't get acceptable performance in asphalt 8... It still lags... :/ on high settings

hello could I pass the link of how you got to your root c5 ?
there you go mate
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3285521
Well since i have rooted my C5 for fews days...from first time,i forgot to clear the (recovery.from.boot.p) and the phone lost the TWRP recovery on first time..and then i try to reformat and reroot again but this time i went in to system/ and clear the (recovery.from.boot.p) and flash supersu ver 2.66 (not provided by Bigrammy. It went smooth on few trys without any problem and i can reboot to recovery mode...but after i install busybox, the recovery become lost.At first i thought is the superSU not compatible with our device C5..and i went again to reformat and unlock bootloader and flash the recovery once more.....and the conclusion is the recovery won't stick as it seems to be after flashing.
It sticks for me... Try reflashing and repeating the steps?

Well..i now trying the last time to unlock my bootloader and flash the fotakernel ans supersu v.2.52 from bigrammy..hopes everything went smooth.....
EDIT : Finally..i find out the culprit behind disabling the recovery mode on our C5 ultra...is not busybox thats trigger is in the setting (activate the find my device setting!!)...Damn sony :victory::victory::victory:

Seems that HK themer is for older sony devices and some more our devices chipset is mediatek..quite hard to theme i think
I even downloaded the xperia themer from sony dev world.. It offers very basic theming.. So it's also a no go...
Anyway.. Any luck increasing the performance?

Me too. I'm with version 5.0, rooted and will not bother updating until Marshmallow 6.0 is released & ROOTED!
Until then I'd rather have 5.0 rooted than 5.1 unrooted. I have many apps requiring root and also use Xposed. I cannot live without root.
