Yes, do a search. You will need to root your phone first.

Yep you'll need root and there's an app that does it. There is a thread around here some where that I used that shows what to do as well.
Edit: Here you go this should help.

And if you decide to upgrade to say any of the Custom roms under the dev section, after unlocking the phone, the phone will still be unlocked. I just flashed UnNamed last night/early this morning and mine was still unlocked. I am not sure if my efs folder got trashed, however, it is still unlocked and I have my efs folder saved on my server, phone and thumb drive lol.

Download SQLite Editor
Go to: Settings Storage (2nd one) > settings.db > settings
Once you're there, find "entitlement_check" and change the field to the right from "1" to "disabled"
Then reboot your phone and you should be able to tether.
Hope this helps.

Flashing your phone is fairly simple, I recommend you use RSD Lite to flash this SBF:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1138204
It will unlock your bootloader and root your phone w/o you having to do anything but flash the SBF.

Hi,
Very frustrated noobe looking for expert help!!!
I rooted(i think/hope) my att us Atrix via fastboot and preinstall.img
downloaded superuser and terminal emulator and ran a script found somewhere here
Then download SQLite editor from the market to access the file quoted above and make the change that enables wifi tethering.
PROBLEM: When i try to access the place where the DB file is(or should be) editor displays "not a database file" and this happen with any DB file.
Any ideas why that should happend??? Might it be phone is not properly rooted? SQLite editor does say "sqlite has been granted superuser access"
Please help

Aye, CM5 is most definitely rootable (used torpedo)... my P4G is set up that way right now.
Im a noob but not to rooting i have tried every method possible still no luck.some 1 bought this phone from over seas (i am in Jamaica) it is running on gsm mode i cant even see what prl im on wen i go into setting about phone.i think if it was activated then i wouldn't have all these prob.the phone was his personal device when he sold me he call and canceled it. So i am at a loss rite know because he cant ask for msl code for a phone he reported lost
as ive said before. If you are having problems rooting or think its not working try to put your phone in charge only mode under usb. Bet that will fix it for you.

1. Go to Settings/Application/development menu and make sure that USB debugging is checked
2. Open Notification screen by swipe down from the top of the screen, you should see USB connection. Choose that and make sure choose "Charge Only" and click OK
3. Download Superuser from Market and install it on your phone.
4. go to Settings/Display/Screen Timeout and choose never
5. Download drivers, ADB packages, Root files from the link below and extract them to your C drive under Root directory (C:\Root). Then just follow the direction of the link below to root your phone.
http://briefmobile.com/how-to-root-motorola-photon-4g
If you follow the direction correctly, If i remember correctly at the last step your phone Superuser application should popup and ask you to allow the root process to access root. Click OK then you are root
Hello,
to make things clear, I have a Galaxy S3 I9300 international version.
I used this method Galaxy S3 Toolkit to root my phone and at point number 3) i selected the 3rd option after this option finished my phone would freeze after a certain amount of seconds after the boot i can click the powerbutton but nothing else and have to take out the battery to restart the phone.
What can I do to fix this again?

So should I just overwrite what I did with this method or do I have to remove sth first?
Will this also fix the freezing?

The same happened to me. I decided to stop using the toolkit. Instead, I downloaded de CF-Root from the Chainfire thread and flashed it using Odin. I still use that method everytime I want to root my device. It is also faster.
Here's the link for Chainfire thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1695238
I just got this in the mail today. Does anyone have any insights on how to unlock the bootloader and inject root? I had assumed 'fastboot' would work, but this has ODIN. I'm sure I could follow the steps on the original S4, but I don't know what the downstream effects will be.
Thanks!

Ok, just got done rooting my gs4 vzw dev edition. It was really pretty simple.
Steps from my win8 laptop were...
Install samsung drivers,
get adb working (android sdk doesn't seem to work on win8.. but just the adb files are all you need, google adb platform-tools or just use win7)
dl and push your superuser zip to the sdcard or external sdcard
dl odin 3.07 and extract to pc
dl and make tar.md5 of your favorite recovery. ( i personally like cwm )
Then all I did was... reboot phone in to odin mode... while phone is powered off, hold vol down + power
Start odin.exe
uncheck auto-reboot
click pda button, select the recovery file.md5
press start and let it finish, only takes a few secs...
once done.. reboot in to recovery, and flash the superuser.zip u pushed over to it.
Vol up + power to boot in to recovery. for me i just booted the phone normally... used "adb reboot recovery" then flashed superuser.zip.
reboot your phone and done.
good idea to make a backup while ur in recovery
If someone has hosting, i can send the files needed.

Okay, so I couldn't wait!
I followed the steps here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2290798 and was able to gain root access.
I have yet to take the plunge on a custom recovery, but I'm sure I'll do that soon.
Additionally, the boot screen now has a picture of an "unlocked" lock, and the words "Samsung" "Custom". I guess they know that this has been flashed.
How did you order this prior to it being available on the Samsung Web site?

I ended up doing the same as you and had to do all the steps too in order for it to work. Now I keep getting a warning message "this device has detected an unauthorized attempt..." trying to get me to reboot though. Can the master devs find something for the developer edition phones to have an easier time rooting?
And I also bought my phone and ordered it for next day shipping, so worth it!

Root method for 5.1.1 for the SM-G360T1 THIS WILL TRIP KNOX. If you don't want to trip knox don't use this. If you do use it and whine you tripped knox because you didn't read ,we will all point and laugh at you.
Named it TrapKernel because well its not my normal HispAsian Kernel and I listened to a crap ton of Trap Music while doing it.
Thanks to @g.lewarne and his root method with his Unibase and Unikernel for the s6 , we finally have root after I ported it over to us. So be sure to thank him for his work.
What's included:
Auto installation of root and busy box
Kernel set to permissive
Otherwise stock
So here's the deal. Stupid simple.
Before you do anything, go to settings/about device and tap Build Number til you unlock dev options. Go into dev options and make sure OEM Unlock is checked. Now you can continue.
1. Put Phone in Download mode
2. Open Odin
3. Connect Phone
4. Put Kernel in AP Slot
5.Flash it
6. Reboot and profit
Notes:
Download SuperSu from the Playstore. Its not included.
If at first it doesnt boot, pull the battery and reboot.
