Hey everyone, quick noobish question.
How do I remove the top cover to access the microsd card slot?
I see it's in the top compartment from some review pictures, but it feels pretty tight and won't budge. Don't want to be ripping off something I shouldn't. Manual and instructions, HTC website says nothing helpful, unfortunately

It's flyer but it's the same, it's quite hard to open first time.
Got it, that diagram made it a lot simpler. Too bad our Views did not come with the manual.
Thank you
Flyer's biggest design flaw, imho. They should have made the SD card slot easier to access. The current location makes it impractical to load files directly on the card. Still, it's nice to at least have one.
LOL.. I tried for 30 mins to remove the cover. I didn't have a picture as posted here.. so I wasn't even sure I was trying to remove the right cover.
here is the trick.
Turn the tablet over. press on the cover NEAR THE BOTTOM (the part closest to the HTC logo). and push up. That seems to be the spot where pressure should be applied. I was pressing in the middle and pulling from the top at first. It's funny how easy it comes off when you figure out where to push.

I've heard of exes destroying cars, putting incriminating pictures and videos online, ruining credit, etc... but deleting a build.prop file? Really?

Seriously? This has NOTHING to do with the original post. You should have started a new thread.

Hmmm God job!
Now, when you disassemble your TG, please take picture of internal chip set because i see that a lot of people asks about internal chip code of TG.
Perhaps in that way we will progress and find some missing drivers.
i shall take pictures of my tg01 inside then and i have fixed my vibration my tg01 looks brand new is there any particular parts i need close up pictures of?

I see a post where Nyl ask for detail and pictures of the chip-sets in TG01!
He said that this pictures will help him to identify the internal chip and to find drivers for them!

Shows the location of all components.
P.s. My 2 cents on the whole matter, I think HC was rushed in order to launch with crappy drivers etc. Fingers crossed for ICS!
Cheers!
Well, I see stereo speakers.
Looks like they had to break the bottom inside to open the tablet. Look there on the botton.

There are four black holders each held in by a single screw. I don't know how you would open it without breaking it.

Sounded too spacial to me to not have something going on...
>There are four black holders each held in by a single screw. I don't know how you would open it without breaking it.
Looks like the two (not four) slider clips are designed to break off the mushroom heads upon opening, which would be for anti-tempering. Assuming they aren't screwed down tight, I suppose you can slip in a small pick to push the clips to the right to disengage.
Anyway, you don't actually need them. The text says the bottom is held together by adhesive. The plastic clips on the top & sides are sturdy enough to hold the halves, as long as the bottom doesn't move around.
Would be nice to see a complete disassembly to see how it's assembled. Although the problem with complete teardowns is that it's usually a one-way street.
Gak, just noticed the dual speakers were CLEARLY mentioned already. Yeesh.
Because I'm a geek and love to keep documentation of my devices, I have created a PDF file of this article with all the pictures as well.
Feel free to grab it Here

Is there anyone who has an archos 70 internet tablet 250 gb with a broken screen and want to sell it?
i dont't have one - but it would be easyer to help u if u would tell wich part u need
i need the main cable that connects the screen with the main board thanks for your reply. i am searching everywhere
well that shouldn't be to hard...
they are called Flexible flat cable
u should get em on ebay or at your local electronic store
The only thing u have to research on your own is the connector type (at mainboard side). But that shouldnt be to hard - imho is should be one of the default connectors for those cables - even im not sure.
Maby "scholbert" knows... u could ask him.
Count the pins and try to buy one - no need for a full device
thanks for your advice but the this cable have other connection on it too is not so simple thanks...

well the picture is quite small - but I can see it's a bit different "style" then in my 101...
Anyway as there shouldn't be lines carrying combined signals - it still should be possible to rebuild that...
I fear that's the only way u have atm - since we don't know any reseller for replacement parts as far as i know - I saw quite a few people now asking for different things batteries, digitizer, display,...
But the only solution was to take it from broken device each time (besie I saw some sceen without digitizer around)
wich leads to ebay,.. but most time they are not "that" cheap...
yes i am waiting on ebay for something for me but may someone has something here
here is a bigger picture of the cable. i am going to take another picture where the actual problem on the cable is tomorrow.
here is my actual problem one of the bins in my Flexible flat cable is destroyed.
thanks for your help.

Yeah, they don't show anything about removing the bottom piece
Yes they do.
Once you got all the screw off it just un-clips

"All the Screws" ? do you mean all the ones under the back cover?
Well since they are the only screws that show on the phone.... yes.
Remove the back cover, there are a load of screws.
Like in the pics and like you can see on your very own SXS
i wonder if the phone boots/works without the bottom part, don't like it personally and perhaps a blanking piece could take its place. perhaps someone could try this if they are opening the phone anyway?
The Mic is in that part so taking it off would make your phone useless for calls
Sent from my LT26i using XDA
the antenna is in the bottom part so thats not an option
Edit : way better tut with bottom part removing in step 18-20 :

Yes, We know for certain it is a cap on the bottom, I want to know how to remove just the cap.
Ha my bad, i tought you ment the whole bottom
Edit : there are no pictures but i get the feeling it is easy removable since you can by it as a single part : http://www.mytrendyphone.co.uk/shop/sony-xperia-s-197538c1.html
Anyone else have problem with this plastic cover being a bit loose and making noises under pressure? I would like to fix it somehow instead of giving it to service for 2 weeks... This is a disgrace to Sony for making such a cheap piece in their flagship phone...
mine, in fact I want to fix it
waiting for a guide to put off the cover
UP, i found a complete guide!!

I'm sure it can be reused. That doc is for repair centers so they have a higher standard.
When u DIY u can surely reuse.
Did anyone try removing the bottom cap? I'm also eager to remove it but im a bit scared that it wont fit tight anymore if you put it back on.
not yet, I'm waiting to change firstly the screen(yellow tint) and after, maybe, i'll try to fix bettere the cup
Does anyone else have a dimple/dent that goes from the bottom of the rear camera to the AT&T logo? Its like a line dent.
Thanks
Nope
Nope... Let me guess you didn't do anything that will cause it?

Thats the way it came.. I guess I could take it back to AT&T and have them pull out another one to compare and return it if the other one is not dented..
A guy at best buy said it had something to do with teh 0 space deign or something.. I think he was full of it..
I have a random dent/dimple on my HTC One on the right side of the back; I never dropped the phone or anything. It's my work phone so I'm not going to go jumping through hoops for a replacement because I have a case on it but if it was my personal device I'd be exchanging it in a heart beat.
I have strange, antenna like structures coming out of my One's earphone jack, and they seem to be watching me, spooky.

I had three of them around the camera. Looked like zits. I took it right back in to best buy and exchanged it. The new one doesn't have it. So if you got it I'd recommend an exchange.

I went to AT&T on the 15 th day thinking I had plenty of time. Guess I should've read the receipt. I was thinking I still had 30 days to return it,, Oh well. It's not that noticeable, but I know it's there, so it bothers me a little..
