I hope this can work on the T-Mobile network or anyone get figure this out for me. Also on the phone is says, China Mobile on the back. Just more information just incase it's needed.
Anyone please?
Check APN settings. Or use a APN app from market.
That actually sounds like a great idea! what about rooting it now? I couldn't find the build that matches or somethinglike that? Clockwork...roms, etc
Sent from my MIUI G2x
might be that no rom/kernel is working with the chinesed version of the phone out of the box. you have a gt i9108 and not gt i9100...
and first of all you'll have to root it

You can try to install google app package "gapps-gb-20111012.zip", you can find easy, but need root.

Hey guys!
I just bought a used Galaxy S2 I9100 and I love it!
It's the "factory international" unlocked one.
Even had to buy a wall adaptor for the European plug to work in Canada.
I would like to update it and trust me, I do search, but it's ever confusing!
The previous owner already rooted it, but I would just like to unroot it and go to official latest firmware. Starting fresh.
I visited this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278 and I know I have to get my downloads from there and flash with odin, but I have NO IDEA which one to download.
Here's my phone info currently:
Android Version: 2.3.3
Baseband Version: I9100XWKE1
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7-I9100XWKDD-CL161513
[email protected] #2
Build Number: GINGERBREAD.XWKE7
I live in Canada and I'm using Rogers as my carrier (they don't carry the I9100).
I absolute love this phone so far but I would just like to get to the latest firmware.
Can anybody point me to the firmware I want to get?
Thanks folks, and have a happy holiday!

I'd look for the baseband version associated with bell since they do sell the i9100. They use the same baseband frequencies as Rogers.
kernels are interchangeable. Always backup your current ROM before upgrading for sure just in case. I've even gone as far as trying different modem firmware to try and improve signal strength and data speeds.
As long as you have a backup of what currently works you can't go wrong really
oops...didn't read the part about unrooting. I've never gone back to un root before but I think you can flash an unrooted kernel through Odin. Sorry I can't be of more help add to which one.
I'd still look for stock Bell firmware

Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7-I9100XWKK2-CL726411

So far everything seems okay.
I noticed that the Voice Talk app crashes now after I say a command.
I also got rid of that yellow half screen problem!
I think my phone is unrooted now because I didn't see a yellow triangle at boot, but the thing that's weird is I still have the superusr app and in my Kernel version it says "root".
Do you recommend me reflash my phone to Bell firmware?
If I do so, wouldn't I get all the Bell branded bloatware stuff on my phone or no?

The baseband is the modem. You are on gingerbread, so flash any of the gingerbread modems in the area I mentioned.

Holy crap! What is so terrible with the stock ROM that you couldn't even go a week with it before having to flash something? What the hell is wrong with people?
Lol. Glad to hear you phone is up and running properly again.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 SCH-R760 for alltel. I installed CM9 then flashed CM10 and ran into a few issues and for some reason my backup copy got erased. So I downloaded the stock odin files for the usc galaxy s2 flashed them over and now I have absolutely no data. I tried flashing other roms to see if I just lost a file I needed but so far no luck. My job requires driving so I need my gps. If anyone can help me fix this or send me a restore for this specific model (alltel) I would very much appreciate it.
Thank You.

Have you gotten anywhere with this? I have an alltel galaxy s2 also. I flashed CM9 and 10. I did have data, but I noticed when I went to dial in to activate my phone I got no keypad while in a call when it asked to activate so I went back to stock. What is it that you need to get back to stock? I may be able to help...
Does anyone know where we can get the stock ROM? For Alltel I believe its generic if anyone can upload I would be gratefull
I dont know where to find the stock rom. But I will tell you this. In order to activate the phone. The way I did with my Samsung Galaxy S Showcase. I put CM9 ICS. When you dial *228 the keyboard doesnt work. Correct? Instead whenever your on the phone with the representative, and she tell you to dial *228. Dont do it! Dial *22890. It'll call normally and you'll be able to pull up the keyboard. Thats how I managed to get mine install, good lucks guys!!
For stock rom, www.sammobile.com.
Sign up, choose ur device, download latest rom, then flash using Odin.
{Helpful, thank me}

I did my Galaxy S through Odin. I'm sure you could as well through that.
So any of the procedures I've found for Odin will work? I found one for a US Cellular S2. I also have found the stock Alltel kernel. What am I missing? I know the procedure, but something just doesn't seem right to me. The one I found seems to flash back the stock kernel, and if it does that how is it maintaining root?

im just wanting stock as im gonna sell it.
Just go to the Odin thread, read that and get the program. Then go to sammobile, join then fill in the 4 boxes to get the suitable firmware meant for your phone.
Have a look at a guide about say updating from GB to JB,so you know when to factory reset/script clean to avoid any conflicts, and remove sensitive data.....since your selling it.

Everything should be there, just download the latest one. Do make sure to do a factory reset in stock recovery after you have flashed the Jelly Bean ROM via Odin :good:
