I hope this can work on the T-Mobile network or anyone get figure this out for me. Also on the phone is says, China Mobile on the back. Just more information just incase it's needed.
Anyone please?
Check APN settings. Or use a APN app from market.
That actually sounds like a great idea! what about rooting it now? I couldn't find the build that matches or somethinglike that? Clockwork...roms, etc

might be that no rom/kernel is working with the chinesed version of the phone out of the box. you have a gt i9108 and not gt i9100...
and first of all you'll have to root it

You can try to install google app package "gapps-gb-20111012.zip", you can find easy, but need root.
Hi,
sorry for my noob question. I´m good in technical stuff but I have less experience in "hacking".
So basically I´d like to downgrade my Samsung Galaxy S2 (GT-I9100, 4.0.3) to any Android Version below 4. So 3.2.1 would be the best. Nothing more! No special version, no special themes or hacks. Just a downgrade. That´s it.
The results of my internet research were that I can´t downgrade the Android Version, unless I have a rooted phone.
I know here are lots of guides, but as I said I´m not familiar with that stuff.
Maybe someone can provide me with a guide how to root that phone and how to install a android version?
Thank u very much!!!!
Cant you just go to samfirmware and get something for your region-then flash that using odin.

1. Android 3.x.x is honeycomb which is only compatible with Android tablets
2. If you want to downgrade your android version to gingerbread (Android 2.3.x), then Visit Sammobile, download the firmware for your region/country.
3. Flash the downloaded firmware via Odin
4. Reboot to recovery and perform a factory data reset.
done

Thanks for your reply!
Sounds pretty simple. I´ll try it right now. I found the Android Version I need and also downloaded Odin. I´d just like to know, if me phone has to be rooted for that procedure or if it will be rooted afterwards. Just asking because of the warranty, but as I know one can unroot or unflash the phone to get warranty back, right?
Thanks!
Lol,your moving the goalposts.Root it on 4.0.3(what youve got now) using Rachmat3 guide then flash maybe GB with siyah 2.6.14 kernel.I used mobile odin pro to do that because of everoot function.
First thing to do is make a note of your phones firmware first before you start mucking around.

Of course, please try to just search because there are several guides to tell you how. But why not upgrade to official 4.0.4?

Ofcourse there is. Just flash a 2.3.x rom
Sure but WHY would you wanna go back to Gingerbread?! You can just root your phone and install CyanogenMod 7.1 or a similar 2.3.4 based ROM although I really can't understand why you'd wanna do that.

You may flash any country's stock ROM. It doesn't matter. However, make sure that the ROM isn't branded. That's all. To get the roms, go to www.sammobile.com, sign up for free, and enter your phone details. Choose any country, e.g. any European unbranded firmware.

Well, ICS is significantly better than GB. Google did an amazing job. Stock ICS looks gorgeous, is very responsive and more functional.

Are you familiar with odin? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1922461
I would suggest you flash Apolo kernel https://www.wuala.com/pedestre/Kern...N (just CWM & light version)?key=IZz8nJ7ajpFQ OP thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2291756 and then try a stock based rom ie: Neatrom or Wannam
Hope this helps

im just wanting stock as im gonna sell it.
Just go to the Odin thread, read that and get the program. Then go to sammobile, join then fill in the 4 boxes to get the suitable firmware meant for your phone.
Have a look at a guide about say updating from GB to JB,so you know when to factory reset/script clean to avoid any conflicts, and remove sensitive data.....since your selling it.

Everything should be there, just download the latest one. Do make sure to do a factory reset in stock recovery after you have flashed the Jelly Bean ROM via Odin :good:
Hey Guys,
I just rooted my S2 and want to install: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/development/rom-cyanogenmod-11-official-nightly-t2604068 however it says that I "Must be at least once on stock ICS or JB before attempting!".
I don't know how I am supposd to upgrade my 2.3.5 so that this is possible...
Any advice?
Since you're rooted, install Mobile Odin Pro from Play Store, then download the 4.1.2 firmware for your I9100G by googling the term "offcial 4.1.2 stock firmware for I9100G" and downloading the zip file associated and extracting the .tar file that comes inside. Then, extract the .tar file to your SD card and go to Mobile Odin Pro app and choose to flash the extracted .tar file. It takes some time but it should update your phone to android 4.1.2 and then you can install a custom kernel for your 4.1.2 firmware which supports CWM recovery. I recommend PhilZ kernel which comes with CWM. Note that you need CWM 6.0.4.5 and above to flash a KitKat based ROM (such as Cyanogenmod 11 in your case). There you go, your phone will run the ROM you asked for and much of what I mentioned can simply be googled here and there for more details. Good luck

They didn't have them either, I used Kies to update to 4.1.2 and rooted by flashing CWM-SuperSU-v0.97.zip and it worked fine.
I've now got to find a rom that I like, originally I liked the look of the cynanogenmod 4.4 rom but im looking for a rom/kernel with the best battery life :/

If you need a 4.2.2 Touchwiz ROM, try Revolution Rom UX build 2 by tutangigi, and use stable dorimanx kernel v9.43. SuperNexus 2.0 is good too if you like stable Vanilla AOSP Android. As for Android 4.3, I used SlimBean 4.3 build 2.2. Good luck

Never heard of 4.2.2 tw rom for s2
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
A lot of various continued development and support for older roms in the s2 area which is odd to see.
I'm looking to pretty much maximise battery life, the dorimanx kernel looks to be the right kernel for me but unsure elsewhere.
What's better on battery 4.1, 4.2, 4.3 or 4.4? Does ART in 4.4 help battery wise?
