I was using Facebook through the official Facebook app for about a week. But today upgraded to the latest version and now can't update status. Whenever I click status it shows me an error like com.facebook.katana crashed. Its happening each time. Can't update my status. Anyone having the same problem?

It displays "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It'll be back shortly." and when I check it it's Facebook Calendar with the exclamation mark.
It doesn't sync since July 5th, which is when I got the ICS/Sense 3.6 update.
I noticed Facebook for HTC Sense isn't displayed in the Accounts & Sync list anymore since that update, is that normal?

My phone has just disconnected by itself from Facebook right now saying "authentication failed" and when I logged in back the calendar sync is back working. It looks like removing the account and re-adding it solved the issue.
I'm having this same issue, however removing the account and re-adding it does not solve the issue. Can anyone help?
MeanROM ICS v2.6 and stock kernel.
I'm having the same issues sometimes. I'm almost positive it's the pos Facebook app. That thing is straight garbage.

Facebook needs to get their act together on this. How come they are the only ones that can't seem to make an Android app run properly?
Mine is working fine since then...
As far as I know, Facebook calendar sync doesn't come from the official app. It's (Facebook for) HTC Sense.
Maybe you could try to logout / remove on the phone, then go to Facebook website and remove the HTC Sense app from the app settings page, then login again on the phone.
After my Tapatalk crashing thread, here comes Facebook status update crashing. It only crashes updating the status within the app itself. Does not crash when replying to updates. Another report sent.. Grrr... Anyone else?

As some of you may have realized over the passed few days the latest Facebook update to 1.9.8 is all kinds of jacked up with hard freezing and not getting notifications. Here is the latest that worked before the update.

I haven't had issues with the latest update. I get notifications
But the one that I have trouble with is the FB Messenger app.
it just won't notify me when someone messages me.

well i do get notifications but it does not play a notification sound no matter which ringtone i select..And it hard freezes way too often.Iv'e read enough reviews in the Market for this App to realize it isn't user error on my part....

My facebook push notifications stopped working. Using slimbean rom build 2 newest version. The push notifications stopped working when I installed the new rom. When I someone sends me a message via facebook, I'll have to open it to know that there is a message. I couldn't find the option for push notifications on the rom. Pls help!!
I've been having the same problem, and I found a thread about it, not sire if it works yet. Download from the play store the app "Push Notifications Fixer" and it will fix the heartbeat of the phones connection, which may or may not be the issue.
