Hi there,
Anyone know about a widget which puts all the posts from the "big ones" in one, scrollable feed? I want Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and various RSS feeds in one big feed on one of my home screens, preferably with customizable colours.
Must be more people wanting this... right?
Thanks in advance!

Try Sonet
https://market.android.com/details?...251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5waXVzdmVsdGUuc29uZXQiXQ..
Thanks for the tip, and sorry for the late reply! I tried Sonet, and it had all the functionality I needed, just one drawback: wasn't really stable enough for day-to-day use.
If anyone stumbles upon another similar app I would be happy to know.
Thanks again!

Are there any good widgets that displays facebook/twitter and other social networking updates like the stock feeds and update widget in TouchWiz? I am using ADW, which obviously doesn't have access to the Samsung widgets (stupid Samsung for putting them in a non-stock location). I really liked that widget, and would like something similar, instead of having to use separate widgets for Facebook and Twitter.
Scrollable widget is a plus!

I love pure messenger. Much better than the stock Samsung app in my opinion.
I too miss that TouchWiz Updates and Feeds app. I will give the Pure Messenger widget a try, seeing how I was looking for a good email widget as well.
Is the only problem with getting the Feeds and Updates widget to work the location? If so, where does Android keep the stock widgets in the filesystem? I am thinking it might be possible to move the F&U widget to where the stock widgets are located and use it from there. Anyone have any insight as to whether this would even be possible?

I don't think that's possible because those widgets are built into the tw ui. If that wasn't the case then we would've already had sense widgets running on adw and launcher pro.

Actually, I searched through astro file manager and I was able to find the apk for all of Samsung's Widgets. I do know you can copy the apk and edit it though, as I was able to to so. However, I don't know what or how to "fix" them to use outside of touchwiz.
Anyone willing to take a look at it?
I would be really interested to hear if anything comes about this, i too miss it and would like to know if it can happen.
Nobody is going to "take a look at it" because it is not possible.
Couldn't find a free version of pure messenger I always pay for the full version of apps I like, but never pay for apps that don't have a way to try before you buy. If there is a free version could someone through a link this way ? Thanks!

You always have a 24 hour period with the Android market. If you don't like it, uninstall/cancel and it won't charge your card. You only get to do this once per app though.

It comes up periodically on the -dev list that this is actually harmful to developers: if a user install it, and doesn't like it (or doesn't get to give it a proper test, or it has a bug on their device) and refund, thats it. They will never come back because it was broken and they don't get to try again.
If there is a trial/limited/ads version and that happens, they can try again when the bug is fixed (or when they have more time, or a better environment, etc.)
On the vibrant this likely happens a lot, since it has such performance issues to begin with - "I installed foo, and my phone started locking up, so I refunded. Now its been a week and it turns out it wasn't foo at all, but I can't try it again..."
Tmobile has a new app that does several social sites in one its pretty good, but not perfect for one it doesn't have an associated widget.

Yeah it really does need a widget.
You have 24 hours after purchasing an app on the android market to "return" it and get your money back.
You can buy Launcher Pro Plus. It has a scrollable Twitter widget that's the best you'll find in the market. Plus he's constantly updating and is adding Facebook support.

I'll add my vote for Pure Messenger. Dev is also one of the most reponsive out there, so if there is ever an issue, it won't be there long.
Widget does all gmail, email, sms, facebook, twitter, and scrolling messenger list widget is great in adw and lp, soon also livehome has scrollable widget support.
Livehome is fun enough to deal with the lack of scrollable widget support until it's done.

I've been using Pure Calendar for a while now. I love the naked look.
I just bought Pure Messenger to give it a shot. I really like the look of Sammy's widget but this would match up nice with my calendear.
Try an app called sotiallite it has twitter and facebook. It's a widget but not scrollible.

i like having the Pulse widgets on my screen.. i have 4 of them there, so i could quickly check on news and articles. great app with plenty of topics. i also linked my facebook calendar so it shows my friends' birthdays and events i have coming up. and i also put the books widget there, as i find it pretty nice to have access to a bunch of free ones. last is the weatherbug widget, which is just plain right now.. not as nice as their phone widget so far.
I'm going simplistic, just beautiful widgets weather at the moment. I like plain
The CNN news widget is cool, and takes advantage of the native HC widget scroll feature.
The widgets for Springpad are pretty cool and seem useful. Too bad I'm finding that I like Evernote more.

Is there a plain post it widget anywhere? I tried springpad but didn't want to have to register just for note taking.
Try color note for plain post it note widget and post it todo lists.
I like Astrid Tasks for those quick post-it like notes.
News360 is a very slick app, and it has a nice widget.
Plume also has a very nice widget if you're a twitter user.
Widgets
pure calendar
Music
News 360
Fancy widgets forecast

Best widgets by far are the Wizz widgets. They match Honeycomb perfectly. It includes an agenda, calendar, facebook, google reader, and twitter widgets.

Those are pretty nice. Thanks for posting about that...
Is the time of updates posting correctly on your FB and Twitter widgets though??? It either shows some weird time or some ridiculous hours ago even if it's a new status/tweet. Weird.
Also... it may just be me, but is there a tad bit of lag once they are on your homescreens?

Would be awesome if there was something like the "stacks" but that displayed your pictures. Anyone know of something like this?
Hi! I recently gave the Live wallpaper Bubbleator another try. It is really nice and because it collects lots of data from lots of sources (calendar events, sms's, facebook, rss etc) and shows them together. Unfortunately my old hero doesn't like LWPs much, so I wondered if there is any vertical scrollable widget which can show this kind of info? Slidescreen is kind of the same, but I don't want to sacrifice all of my homescreens to this. The Meego Harmattan also has one of the homescreens which works pretty much like this. Is there any widget out there which can do this?
Thanks in advance
Hi everyone
I recently changed to touchwiz ux launcher, coming from launcherpro. I was wondering if there was any widget like the go calendar widget, meaning a scrollable month overview, a little mark on the days with an appointment, and possibility to click on the days to make/view an appointment then. Thanks in advance
I would suggest you take a look at Jorte Calender:
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.co.johospace.jorte
thanks, yeah i saw that but haven't really tried, but if i'm right that's a whole calendar app, so can this widget show the appointments of the stock app? or maybe if i sync with google in both apps... if anyone knows advice is still welcome, but i'll give that a try soon
just for the record, i've just found android pro widgets, it's calendar widget does exactly what i want, if anyone else has the same problem: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rdr.widgets.core

You can sync it with google to show the same appointments as the stock app. But android pro widgets is a good hint, looks promising. Maybe i can use it for myself.
thank you for this!! finally a go calendar like widget (better actually) that works at higher DPI resolutions !! (SIII at 240dpi)
Hi all,
new guy here. been coming to the site for a while now but finally decided to set up an account to ask a question and get involved.
I was just wondering. does anybody know if there is a blinkfeed style app available at the moment? not the scrolling option but i just mean the attractive large animated tiles that link to your facebook, google+, twitter etc.
Would love to have that sort of app on my homescreen but not too sold on the new htc. (i prefer my nexus phones)
thanks in advance and sorry if this is posted in the wrong section!
