idk what i doing wrong, or if my phone is donezo or what....
someone please help a noob,

This seems to be happening to a few people here and there. You're phone is fine. Just flash to another ROM. The best way to do it because you are stuck in the cycle you are in is to flash from the SD card. Copy and paste this to go to the instructions on how to do it:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=61333
I highly recommend NFSFAN's ROM.
The ROM you were trying to flash was a GSM ROM. The Forum you are posting in now is the CDMA Forum. If the your phone is indeed CDMA (You are on Bell, Telus, Sprint, Verizon) then you need the CDMA version of the EnergyROM.
Now, if your phone is GSM, then you need to go post over there.
88fingers is correct
This is caused when you put a GSM ROM on a CDMA Phone. I have accidentally done this a couple of times with ROMS that were inproperly documented. Just find a CDMA ROM and reflash your phone, and all of your problems will disappear. The proper way is to actually flash your phone to the Stock ROM. You will probably need to flash from the SD Card as you may not be able to actively sync the phone to the computer to do a flash.
I've done the same thing prob 20 times or so...till I found out that my touch pro is a cdma (if you have an SD card its a cdma)and not a gsm...and is also called a Herman not a raphel to the best of my knowledge so far. As far as re flashing goes I've always done it from the boot screen(hold the power button, volume down, and the soft reset button until the boot screen appears). Once I bring up the boot screen i hook plug into USB and flash. Thats just how I've done it not saying its the best why by any means.

Let's get this straight boys. ALL TOUCH PROS HAVE A microSD CARD SLOT.
If your phone has a SIM card then you have a GSM phone. This is known as the Raphael.
If you have no SIM card, then you have a CDMA phone which is known as the Herman.
ok guy, that is exactly what i did wrong, i reflashed my phone to a cdma rom, thank you tremendously for your assistance!!!
but when i flashed to a different rom, im having some problems with it freezing up and such, would this be due to the rom, or me going from my mess up to a different rom?
Should i go back to a stock rom like i think someone stated prior?
is that the same as the unlock utility then?
thanks
The unlock utility is the CID (carrier ID) unlocker (also known as SPL HardSPL, Security Unlocker blah blah blah). It allows you to run unsigned ROMs on your phone. SIM unlocking is something else entirely - it's how you unlock a GSM phone to use on other GSM networks - so it doesn't apply here.
Only a stock ROM will run on a locked phone, hence why you have to unlock it to get all these awesome custom ROMs on there.
I'm not sure why jmy72 said to go to a stock ROM, but I've never done what you have done myself. Maybe it'll reset some things that you might have jarred during your failed GSM ROM load.
Also, you could be doing something else with the ROM you loaded. Or it could be a crappy ROM. Or a whole buncha other things. For the help with that to get any deeper, you need to expound on your "freezing and such" problems.

you are incorrect about the cdma touch pro being called a Herman .i have a Sprint touch pro and under device info it clearly shows model no. RAPH800 which IS a RAPHEL not a HERMAN

Yes it does say Raph, but whenever you are looking for roms make sure that you flash Herman. It can be a little confusing.
Dude just flash from the SD Card...your stuck in a cycle that never ends, put the rom on your sd card and it will work fine. Just ensure you have CDMA rom for a CDMA phone....for NRG roms they are called Hermans for CDMA.
I have a Sprint TP this is the ROM I used just search PPCGeeks for it: EnergyROM_21864_HERMAN_22.Oct.2009_Standard.rar
Dear All,
My Galaxy S3 cannot connect to network after rom update. I have searched a lot but i could not figure out the problem since i have no problem with my imei. I can see correct imei, but no serial number no hardware revision and no signal when sim is inserted. without sim it can detect signals.
To figure out problem i need EFS.tar of some working I9300. If some one can provide me his efs backup in tar, i will be a big help for me.
ha ha ha ha ha! You really think someone is going to give you their efs?!

Sorry to be the one to tell you this, but without a proper backup, you almost certainly won't be able to recover the efs folder. That's why backing up the efs folder is so critical before you begin any flashing procedure. It contains information unique to your device, without which, you have basically a very expensive media player.

Does this means that even if have another efs folder it will be no use to me?
I have my EFS folder intact and it has all files in it. but there is some problem with any file, that does not allow to register to network.
That's quite unfortunate, backing up my EFS folder was the 1st thing I did after getting my phone to avoid this kind of issues (prior rooting, of course).
By the way, was it an official OTA update or was it manually injected?
Any piece of information you can bring about the issue may help people here to figure out a way to help you.
How sure are you it is the EFS that's the problem? If you can see the folder and it has files in it, why are you looking at EFS being the problem? I'd have thought with a corrupted EFS you wouldn't have a file structure to be looking at, but I may be confused as to what an EFS is/does)
Have you tried using CWM to Factory Reset, wipe data and Dalvik and then run your Rom again?
Have you tried downloading and flashing a stock ROM for your phone?

Infact there was an OTA update but it failed to install from stock recovery mode. After reboot there was a message to use kies or contact service.
So i used. But kies showed that it cannot updte this phone ( because CSC was XXX ) so i used firmware inatialization method to download firmware by entering model and serial number in kies.
After update i was stuck in this situation,
Have you flashed a stock Rom with Odin to try and rectify?

Yes i am also confused about this.
Befor touching EFS folder i did factory reset, wiped data, delvik , re installed different official and custom roms. But it did not solve my issue.
I focused my attention to efs because all my symptoms are similar to people who have lost their imei. But my imei is O.K
You have any other suggestions.

I flashed LE8 and LH1 via odin , but it did not help
If your IMEI is intact its not generally an EFS issue.
Asking for someones EFS backup is generally a no no, and it wouldn't work anyway.
My understanding, from reading what Odia posted (who is generally considered the expert on this sort of thing) is that the EFS is in part encrypted with the devices ID, so if you use someone else's EFS on your device, it will fall back to the generic IMEI which would be worse.
Try flashing a full odin firmware and go from there.

I have tried using LE8 and LH1 from samfirmware.
Is there any other full odin firmware?
I'm a little confused here. If I am reading this correctly, the phone works OK except it will not connect to a network and so doesn't work as a phone any more. Is that correct?
If so, maybe you're flashing the wrong thing - you might need to flash Modem firmware not ROM. Now I might be even more confused than I think I am, but it seems to me all the Comms stuff will require the modem side of things to be correct. It's possible I think) to have flashed a ROM that could be incompatible or which corrupted your modem side of things.
Keep in mind I am still learning this stuff, but recently I thought I'd get ready to flash a JB ROM by flashing a kernel that was supposed to be for JB - there were others there with a warning NOT to use with JB so I figured I should get one suitable for JB - long story short I had a non-starting phone and had to work from scratch with PC Odin to get everything working again.
So, I am guessing that the ROM you are flashing also needs a kernel and Modem flash. I'm also hoping if I am wrong someone more experienced will tell me why
My guess is also you'd need to flash kernel, then ROM, then Modem, and make sure they are all to whatever version o Android you are wanting to have.
Am I making sense or am I talking through my proverbial?
have you try to use another micro Sim, it can be micro Sim reader o your Sim.
I got my phone repaired from a third party repair centre,
They used SPT box to repair the efs folder. Now i have signals and it can connect normally.
It cost my $60 for repair.
Thanks to every one for helping me out in the repair.
Hi Guy,
Yesterday I unlocked my phone in hopes of placing it to another carrier I have at&t. That was successful. I then flashed the modem in hope to get Tmobile 4g working on my phone. But it was giving me issues. I was running Rooted Stock ICS at the time. After doing some reading amount the threads, I've concluded that I probably needed to get a ROM(?) in order for this to work? So I flashed ParaniodAndroids JB on it. Well my new problem is, that I lost the baseband and my IMEI number...and I have no way of getting it back. I did write it down. So I know what my number is, but is there any way to get it back? At this point, I'm ready to give up. I've spent hours looking for info on how to fix this issue. I actually wish I was back to my ICS now. Right now my phone is useless without any signal.
So does this mean that I have a bricked phone? Please let me know if there's anything I can do to salvage my phone.
Thank you.
Reflash the appropriate modem (re download old one could be bad) and then make sure you set the APN to a proper T-Mobile one. That should hopefully get you going.
I'm not sure where your imei went, it should be in the "about phone" section. But it you don't see it there its also on a sticker behind the battery I think. At least that's where I've found the printed imei before.

UPDATE
So I did a complete unroot using Odin. Once I did that all of my info came back to normal. However, I am back to GingerBread. Which isn't great, but I know where to go from here.
If anyone is still having trouble restoring their IMEI number, try Unrooting your phone completely. It worked for me.
Best of luck and Thanks!
I flashed my stock att modem to a custom one hoping id get 4g service on my att galaxy note sadly i now have no service. Is there anyway i can find the original modem and flash and get my service back?

If you made a Nandroid backup prior to flashing the modem, which I hope you did and should always do before flashing something new. Then it's just a matter of rebooting to recovery and doing a restore. Fast, easy solution. I'm thinking what you are missing with your newly flashed modem are just the correct AT&T APN settings. Quick search, find, and enter them, perhaps the better solution since you flashed the new modem to seek a better signal in the first place, may as well test it out. EDIT: CPA Poke's link above has this link listed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1684711. For sure worth a look.

FYI nandroids don't backup nor restore the modem.
No such thing as a custom modem.
You just flashed a different modem, those binaries are closed source, therefore cannot be modified by us...and I'm pretty sure it would be illegal if we did.

True, but a backup's restore got me going again after I played around with modem's trying out AWS for Wind Mobile. Afterward, my SIM became unrecognized when trying to get back on Rogers with various modem flashes, all to no avail. Forgive my comment, it was late and maybe confessed the 2 different situations. But I restored my original backup of my stock gingerbread, baseband (modem) was back and sim recognized. Restored then again to my ICS based ROM I was running before playing for WInd. Then got flash happy with whatever modem in the link below. So...worked for me..

Odin flash from a PC your phones stock ROM is what I would do. Don't forget to save/backup all your important stuff first, because it will wipe everything and bring your phone back to a like new state.

Odin push is the correct method to restore service, but fully wipe the device first....g
I'll try that. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks for the helpeveryone!1
Hey guys,
So I got a real doozy here...
I flashed my Verizon Note 2 (SCH-I605) to the SOKP Rom from a Jedi X Rom (v13 I believe). After the flash, I noticed my network was not working. Eventually I found out that the device was registering as a GT-7105. Not sure what went wrong, as the rom was flashed with no errors. I also ensured that my recovery was on the appropriate version (TWRP 2.6.3.3 in this case) and I also did a factory reset. To try and rectify the issue I wiped the phone and tried various other roms. In every one of those cases I found that the phone was constantly roaming. I had checked my network mode and tried switching between Global and LTE/CDMA which did nothing. Being completely out of options, I just installed to a stock rom through Odin (VRAMC3 4.1.2) and let it update via Wifi to 4.3 and still nothing. (I am well aware of the Knox security feature and will address this in a moment)
Here are the different ways I tried to diagnose the issue after this that led nowhere:
1. Made contact with a Tier-2 specialist from Verizon that tried various diagnostic methods and found that my phone was simply not registering on the Verizon network, or ANY other network for that matter.
2. I went to a Verizon store and got my SIM card replaced.
3. I even went to a repair shop to see if the phone possibly had a faulty connection.
I have already verified that the IMEI is correct based on the sticker behind the battery. The PRL is on 15310. The very last thing I tried was entering "getprop" inside a terminal. I'm taking a guess here, but I noticed my ril.serialnumber was all 0s. Could this be the problem? If there's anymore information someone needs, I'll be happy to post it up. Just hoping I can get a little direction here. If I need to root my phone again to try something, I am more than willing to. My phone is out of warranty and not insured, I'm not really concerned about the Knox warranty trigger unless it will render my phone completely unusable.

If updating the Profile and PRL on a stock based rom doesn't get it back, then you might have corrupted your EFS partition. I don't suppose you used TWRP to back up the EFS partition when you did a nandroid?
FYI: Doesn't matter what the phone is listed as (n7105) for connecting to the network. It's just a build.prop edit away from saying whatever you want it to.

Can't restore what wasn't backed up. The efs is unique to your phone. In some cases you can use another part of another phone's efs partition, but not always and is gonna be a huge hassle either way. But yea, I think you're in a pretty tricky situation. I was reading on another forum that the serial number being 0 shouldn't cause this issue though, so not really sure what to think. Usually when this sort of thing happens, the IMEI gets messed up too. Updating Profile and PRL didn't help?

Yeah, it's actually in the Status section. It does not allow me to edit anything in this area. I don't see anything that says Profile.
Hmm I guess VZW decided you don't need to have access to those functions. Weird. Sorry man, I dunno what to tell you at this stage.
Edit: Found this -
"The only acceptable way to update it on LTE phones is to take the SIM out, boot the phone back up, let it sit for 5 or 10 minutes, power off, reinsert SIM, reboot phone. That's the only one I know of, there may be other ways to do it but that is the easiest."
Not sure if it will help, but certainly isn't going to make it any worse. What baseband version do you have installed?
First thing you need to do is write down your IMEI number. You do NOT want to lose that. Seriously, write it down with a pen. Also your serial number and anything else you find in the EFS partition you might need that's specific to your phone. THEN: at this point it sounds like you'll have to find someone's EFS partition. I've seen it around on XDA multiple times as I've gone through threads similar to this one. Once you find an SCH-i605 efs you'll have to flash/replace/edit yours somehow, try editing your own first to match the same values as your peer's. Don't replace personal information tho. If you end up replacing it you'll have to go in and re-enter your own IMEI number somehow. I am not an expert on how you can do this, but stated here is/would be the process.
