Try pulling out the battery and putting it back in, then plugging the phone in and rebooting it.
tried your suggestion and still won't power on...led light doesn't even come on when plugged in to charger...

This is a complete guess/longshot but take out the battery, plug in the charger and hold down the power button. While the power button still held, unplug the power cord from the phone and insert the battery. This once worked to get my old Xperia X10 to respond. Different phone, but thought it might be worth a try.
thanks for trying to help but no dice...

Have you tried adb reboot recovery? If by some miracle adb sees the phone you can just flash a recovery and load up a rom. Might have to try acting like you power it on. It could be actually powered up but not screen or led responsive.

I've had a problem like this with my phone before, I let my battery get to zero while in recovery mode and phone wouldnt do anything. The battery seemed like it was so low the phone didn't recognise it was there. I hooked it up to a variable dc voltage box and jumped it for a bit and it worked. U could either stop at a sprint store and see if they have a charged battery, or get one of those things that charges the battery outside of the phone, its like a universal battery charger or somethin.

Twrp 1.xxx would think the phone was in recovery after the battery died. It made it so you needed to pull the battery for a while to let the capacitor drain and reset twrp

Download ADB from http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
Download the zip
unzip somewhere
Open SDK manager
Download sdk platform-tools and tools (other stuff is optional)
open cmd and use "cd <directory>" to navigate to platform-tools in the android sdk folder (e.g. "cd /android-sdk-windows/platform-tools/"
Download htc sync http://dl3.htc.com/application/HTCSyncv3.0.5579.exe
uninstall after installed
connect phone to computer
type "adb devices" in a cmd/terminal
if it recognizes your device, it's not bricked
try "adb reboot bootloader" and see if it gets into bootloader. If it does, flash TWRP 2.0 and flash a ROM. Your device should now be usable.
If that doesn't work, you could probably download the bootloader file and push it to your phone but you'll have to ask someone else about that.

So I'm assuming no recovery?
My flyer wouldn't respond when I first flash hc and I had to hold power button and vol down for a really long time before it would go into bootloader.
Also ADB pull sometimes will allow you to boot.

are you able to boot into recovery?
Unfortunately not
I tried everything
Power button for eternity and nothing
Can't boot to anything, power button just keeps flashing amber
Looks like I'm going to send it in for repair
To me it seems like a battery issue, unfortunately its not accessible

I am not an expert, but I was reading this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18820479&postcount=107
It appears that you have the same issue he is having (you corrupted recovery image) that you have a bad recovery image.
You might want to ask globatron for help. I think you need to do charge your flyer using computer (very slow) and then reinstall recovery.
Can you get adb to recognize device? If so try to root the device again using the revolutionary io method and from there maybe it will repair the bad recovery
From the way it sounds it's like you're stuck in the boot loop but you can't see image
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
So you said that you had flashed cwm recovery, did you do this from cwm? if so that may be as previously stated a bad recovery (I am not aware of any version of recovery that can be flashed directly from cwm) If you can get your Flyer to charge, then use adb commands to get it to bootloader, then usd adb to flash the revolutionary recovery, you may be ok.
I remember once accidentally flashing the wrong recovery from cwm, I used adb to reflash the correct one before rebooting the Flyer again.
Not sure if this will help with your particular situation but it may be worth a try.
Cheers
BR
So, my light doesn't flash, it just stays on, and I wasn't doing any hacking! last thing I did was turn it off normally. I plugged it into some outlets without surge protectors, could that have done it?
Continuous amber sounds like normal charging to be honest.
Pug it into a PC using the usb cable and check to see what type of device gets discovered.
Nothing gets recognized, device manager doesn't see any change just continues flashing amber
I had cwm v3xxx and saw there was a v4 from another thread and flashed that, wish I hadn't
Everything seem fine after the flash from fastboot/adb but when I returned to check, it was flashing amber ever since
Blinking amber usually means the battery is completely depleted.
You can either send it back for repair, get another battery or cobble together an offline charging method.
Thanks off to the repair shop

Try holding the power button for 20 seconds and see if the light goes solid amber. If so, let it charge for 30 minutes. Also make sure you are using the official charger and not a third party one.

I am in exact same situation. The Flyer is just not charging and is not recognized by computer. Tried everything.
Maybe its a problem with leak3 or with the process I followed to upgrade to leak3. I was on leak2 and had applied system image and boot image to upgrade to leak3.
Anyway the end result it that my Flyer is a brick. Do you think HTC will fix this?
So. Did you solve the problem?

I don't believe you are in the same or even a similar situation. I'm pretty sure the problem in your case is that your battery is flat and you can't charge it because your hboot doesn't match your recovery. When you connect the charger you get a flashing amber LED, correct?
EDIT, sorry cnewsgrp; I mistook you for someone else, I remember your issue now. Completely discharged and wouldn't charge from there.
Tuesday night, I was charging my phone and I left it alone for probably 30 minutes. I checked it, pressed the power button, and it didn't turn on! Today is day 3 of my phone not working. No, it is not rooted. My screen is cracked if that matters. It used to restart it a lot.
Yes, I've tried pulling the battery multiple times. Hard reset won't work either. I've tried volume down + power button, both volume buttons + power, even the camera button + power, charging with the computer, using different USB cords, and it still won't turn on. I took the battery and SD card out, waited 30 minutes.. put it back in, no luck.
Could it be a battery problem? Will a new battery fix it? Is it a hardware problem? If I need to replace it, could the Sprint store still retrieve my text messages and contacts? I hate not having a working phone and Christmas is coming up.

Its a bug in the Recovery
simply reboot-bootloader with ADB and it will charge
HOW TO
you need The Android SDK on your computer
1.remove the battery
2.Put the battery back in your Evo 3d
3.Connect the phone with your computer
4.Start CMD
5. type "cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools"
6.type "adb reboot-bootloader"
7.your phone should now charge just let it charge for a couple of minutes
8.restart your phone
sorry for my bad English
it won't recognize the commands
This happened to me.
1. take out battery
2. hold down the power button for 15sec with battery out.
3. place battery back in phone and put the back on.
4. try to turn on. If it doesn't turn on try a different charger (this worked for me a few times. this worke dfor me a few times i remember back on at&t when i had the slider windows phone htc 8250 i think it needed a charger with more amperage to start the charge.)
5. If the above doesn't work maybe take it in to sprint if you have the warranty.

So, I am in my car getting ready to drive home and my phone won't turn on or even register the car charger. I had the phone in my pocket prior to that. I tried the three button trick, but nothing worked. I drove the whole way home dreading that I had bricked my phone. But thanks to XDA and all the help that is out there, I found a way to fix my problem.
I wish I could figure out exactly what caused the problem. My battery was at about 20-25%. My phone is rooted, hboot 1.4 running Android Revolution HD 1.1.3, and TWRP 1.1.1. I haven't flashed anything in a couple days, so is there any log I could look at to help figure out this mystery? Or is this something that just happens?
Thanks everyone!

You need to install OpenJDK6+, the Android SDK, and the USB drivers for your phone since you're running Windblows. Do that, then open a command prompt window (type "cmd" in the Start menu search bar if you can't find it). Now if you're running a 32 bit OS, the "(x86)" part can be omitted from the command you're trying to use. The command "cd" means change directory, you cannot go to a directory (AKA folder, path, etc) that isn't there. The directory will be created for you when you install the SDK. Google is a helpful resource if you need further instruction .
Oh yeah, and don't forget to enable USB debugging from your phone otherwise ADB will not work. (It's located in: Settings>Applications>Development).

Sounds like battery issues... The phone thinks the battery is dead... Pull the battery out and leave it for about 20 mins or so, throw it back in, don't power it up and plug it in, let it sit for awhile(red led should stay lit) after like 20 mins turn it on

phone completely died on me,
connected it to the charger and it turned on to the green "htc" logo,
but then it turns off..
so i tried booting to recover; holding volume down + power, with no luck.
tried it via connected to computer, no luck.
with & without batter still nothing..
weird thing is, SOMETIMES the charging light will keep blinking.
also SOMETIMES, the screen stays off, and the vibration feedback when pressing the home, menu, back, and search keys, virbates..
do i have the first bricked amaze or what?
--the search key "restarts the phone"
i can tell because the keys no longer make the phone vibrate when pressed after pressing the search key.
I'm betting my money on you having a earlier recovery installed that doesn't allow proper boot if the battery is dead... crappy part about that? it doesn't let the battery charge either... Find someone with an Amaze, or Sensation, charge your battery in their phone for 30 minutes, then try your phone again. Also, after your phone is charged, you probably want to reflash your recovery to a new one that doesn't exhibit this problem.
*just a wild guess, but it makes sense, it's happened to me*
*note, you could just have unrelated catastrophic hardware failure, lol*

S-Off isn't possible right now, S-On-Unlocked is safe. although having the recovery that doesn't support charging is like a temp-brick. You just need to charge your battery in another phone.
Or splice the battery directly to the wires for half an hour. That's how I charged when my charging port was the broked
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using xda premium
Can you at least get into adb? You could try accessing it and then using adb to reboot into bootloader/recovery via "abd reboot recovery" or "adb reboot bootloader"
Did this get resolved? Just wanted to know if my hunch was right.
It sounds like a dead battery. The blinking light means (from my experience) that its charging but not enough juice to use yet. Once my phone died and it blinked for a couple of minutes. I tried turning on, but battery wasn't juiced enough. After a few minutes, the light turned solid and was charging and had enough power to turn on.
I would try a new battery. Good news is you're not bricked, and most likely, not even soft bricked

I tried turning on, but battery wasn't juiced enough. After a few minutes, the light turned solid and was charging and had enough power to turn on.
I would try a new battery. Good news is you're not bricked, and most likely, not even soft bricked

i have the same issue i could get into hboot and recovery but i cant get passed bootload and i charge it for like an hour but it wont stop flashing what can i do is it the battery?
Amazing Brick
I've had a very similar issue to those mentioned here. I have the latest cwm recovery installed (five point something). After wiping battery stats my amaze went into a cycle of booting up normally then automatically restarting after about 30 seconds. Now it shows the amber light while charging, but will not boot at all, not even into recovery. adb says device not recognized, and the amber light flashes periodically and shuts off if i press the power button... should I trash this phone and get a galaxy s II ?

Charge it for 30-60 minutes. Unplug it and do a battery pull. Put battery back on and reboot your phone

was running quicksense from about january dont know exactly which version.
phone completely died on me,
connected it to the charger and it turned on to the green "htc" logo,
but then it turns off..
so i tried booting to recover; holding volume down + power, with no luck.
tried it via connected to computer, no luck.
with & without batter still nothing..
weird thing is, SOMETIMES the charging light will keep blinking.
also SOMETIMES, the screen stays off, and the vibration feedback when pressing the home, menu, back, and search keys, virbates..
do i have the first bricked amaze or what?
--the search key "restarts the phone"
i can tell because the keys no longer make the phone vibrate when pressed after pressing the search key.

HTC Amaze won't turn on
Hi guys.
I'm having problem with my HTC won't turn on at all. I tried swapping out the battery with the new one but still won't work. And of course I can't get into adb to do reboot thru that so now i'm stuck. I'm running out of option and trying to turn on the phone. Please help if you can
thanks

Does the phone charge when you plug it in?
I accidently installed cwm on my phone with Rom manager and let it die. Obviously it wouldn't charge up because i was using cwm. So I popped in the extended battery and installed amon ra 3.15 with Scotts cleanflash tool. The dead battery still won't charge. How do I fix it?

have you tried turning your phone off then putting in the dead battery. place it on the charger while the phone is still off and try to charge it. enable/disable fast boot may help also.
when testing cwm a few months back I ran into the same issue, but it was solved by switching to amon ra and charging the dead battery once in a standalone charger.
***EDIT: I just came across this thread when doing a search:

This should help you out.

Thanks. Im still toying with it but so far all I get is a flicker of the orange light after I hit the power button. Will try with fast boot enabled.

"I had this happen for the first time today. Phone wouldn't start, battery wouldn't charge. My fix.... Open command prompt. Plug phone in to computer. Type " adb reboot recovery" when recovery opens the battery starts charging. Push reboot and Pooooof! A charging phone!"
If it comes down to it, just take the battery into VZ and get a defect replacement.

I did something similar to this. Reboot phone to bootloader while plugged in, then swap to the dead battery then rebooted. Then I let it charge to about 40% before I had to take it off. It died a while ago and the charging problem persists.

try the recovery method with the battery in question, meaning: don't use the extended. just throw the the phone onto usb with the dead battery and try adb recovery.
hopefully you can save yourself a trip to VZ.

Welp I just tried the adb reboot recovery and I am still getting the flashing light.
Will try again.
When this happened to me I had to keep plugging and unplugging the charging cable while holding the power button to get it to turn on. It's worth a try!
I did what others did n plugged into computer n booted to bootloader/ect
My rezound died this week end and wouldnt charge. Took it the VZ store and found out they no longer had in-store tech support. Anyway, the in store person concluded the charge port somehow wouldnt take a charge. Ended up calling tech support for a replacement. Should be here by Tues
Well I figured it out. I just got home to try again and I looked at the cmd window. It turns out I only typed "adv reboot recover" so yea my bad . Worked like a charm!
