The icon sitting directly next to my blue tooth icon (it looks like three sizes of orange shoes in a Grey box) randomly appeared around game time today while and stayed without any corresponding app I could find.
It went away after a reboot and I haven't seen it return.
Any ideas?

So it has shown back up this time triggered seemingly by playing an mp3 called freestyle by tune me through the built in player.
It now remains after the song was played which was simply a series of percussive beats.

Its the smart actions as far as I know.

try checking your running apps and services. might be a 3rd party a app or something. Couldn't find anything specific to it when I searched.

I was not knowingly using the data saver feature (as i leave it turned off) however I will look into that possibility

No, I have data saver on, and there's no icon. It does look like some sort of settings icon, though... Like juice defender, or a toggle, maybe? Have you checked the task manager to see what's running?

I've had this before. Its a pair of Orange shoes. When I pulled it down it said "Click to confirm access" Its like installing a new app but when it requires access to something it asks you. As far as I know.

The standard, "untouched" Netflix app should work fine now that the device check has been removed (this is the one magicriggs linked to with the Droid Life article). I've been using it for a couple days now with no issue.

I downloaded it from your confirmed link and it works great, the constant "would you like to update" notification is no longer interrupting playback.
Thanks again.
I am getting the update check nag when I first start the app, but not during playback. Rooted Droid X2. Froyo 2.2
I used this link: http://www.droid-life.com/2011/05/2...ice-check-should-work-on-all-android-devices/
Does anyone have the latest APK? It's constantly nagging to update and won't allow me to update because the Droid X2 isn't allowed to access it in market. It still works fine, but that update nag screen is getting annoying. I watch a lot of NETFLIX LOL :/
here it is.

Curious to who I know around here. Any x2/bionic peeps around? Curious to all of your thoughts on this phone and if any of you here are cheesecaking.

Anyways, just saying hello to all of you. Let's keep this forum alive.

Hope to see you here soon, this really has been an impressive improvement on Motorola's part. As far as the screen goes there's an additional option to allow the os to manage auto brightness to conserve battery. Net effect: it's about 25% dimmer at times than just "normal" auto brightness.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using xda premium
I believe the dimmer look is attributed to the AMOLED screen. What I was saying as far as a "trade-off" is that I'll take a slightly dimmer screen to get a less pentile effect. This screen looks much nicer than the Bionic in my opinion...
I just "upgraded " from the nexus to the razr and I am absolutely loving it. The nexus' radio was awful. This phone is just so much more solid overall.

Blocking the sensor works, but...
I just tried putting a small piece of tape over the sensor and found that it works. The red buttons always stay on regardless of the ambient light conditions, however, during a call the screen will no longer go dark so that your ear, cheek, etc are no longer prevented from inadvertently clicking on anything. Obviously the sensor has a double duty.

Just wondering, other than the "face recognition", what are some of the other major additions to android that come with the upgrade from GB to ICS, ICS leaks etc? And has anyone tried any of them? How are they? Just wondering....
I know you said besides face recognition but I'll have to say using a pin is way faster plus it's really sensitive to light. I turned it off.

Could there be any way to run tge webtop 3.0 ui on the actual phone screen itself? That would make the dpi problems go away

Sent from my DROID RAZR using xda premium
Nebtop is for webtop 2.0 and it just allows you to use webtop on non lapdocks with an hdmi cord. Im talking about running the actual webtop 3.0 on the phone screen itself, not mirroring it to an external display. Doing so would give the effect of a tablet ui on your phone.
Thank you for the response though

For Webtop 3.0 you don't need anything, just plug into HDMI and select Webtop.
@pyroemaniac: isn't DPI have to do with the screen itself and not the UI? and wouldn't running the tablet UI on the phone itself be kinda hard to use
If you lower your dpi in the build.prop you can force ics to go into "tablet" mode but it distorts ui elements and causes instability. With webtop at the right resolution on the phone screen i think could be usable and would eliminate the problems mentioned above with changing the dpi.
Plus i just think it would be cool to use the tablet netflix and other apps on my phone

You could try installing safestrap, back up everything, then flash the Web top to the safe system then booting into it. I'm not totally sure about it, but I believe safestrap uses the Web top partition to load a custom ram disk on top of our existing kernel as a way to boot custom roms with a locked boot loader. Though, I would believe that the Web top would need some small tweaking to run correctly, for input, not sure the touch screen drivers would be included... Etc. But if it could be done i wonder with some additional tweaks if we could build a fully functional ubuntu rom...

He is basiclly talking a rom or a launcher with the looks of tablet mode, but on the cellphone screen without connecting anything, something like paranoid android rom we have on samsung galaxy note, i personally tried it on a note and its pretty good, would be cool for Razr.
In a way yes, but what i am talking about is we actually use the webtop software thats already installed on our device. If there was a way to open it like an application that would switch us over to tablet mode "webtop" and when you want to go back to phone mode you just use the same app to switch back.
I think that makes sense haha

I totally understand that, and you probably WILL get *****ed at, but maybe one dev will think "great idea & i think i know how to do that." Go ahead and clearly post there exactly what you are talking about. Who knows, we could have that toggle by tomorrow &i bet it would get a LOT of press as it would be a whole new interface for Android phones!
This thread is a little old, but I recently acquired a Razr with a bad ESN and cracked but still working screen to use as a HDMI attached media device. Webtop was giving me a few issues, refusing to switch to tablet mode sometimes, so I decided to see if the dpi could be changed to force it into an always tablet mode.
Using a backup of the stock 4.1.2 ROM in Safestrap slot 1, I changed the DPI to 120 and it seems to be working well, apps still show as compatible in Google Play. I'm using Holo Launcher HD and had to switch some settings to get icons looking right.
Here is what 120DPI looks like if anyone is interested.
