Which one?

Like the headphone icon?

DialerTabActivity, Notebook, Clock?, Settings? Calender? icons

the note icon is changed... this rom goes better (at least in my phone) than the russian one, and doesn't have garbage apps

How would I split this one package ROM into Phone/PDA/CSC so I can mix and match Modem and CSC from another one package ROM. I would have posted in the development section but it won't allow me to. Basically, I want the PDA from this ROM but the Modem and CSC from an XEU ROM. Any help appreciated.

you can download the multi package for this rom from sammobile.com
at this point my phone is very slow with this rom, went well until this morning, but now have lag after unlock, wifi failures, and the scroll on the menus lost their initial smoothness

Thanks, I can only seem to find the one package but not the multi package at sammobile.com. I don't think that option is available.

yes you are right, all the roms are one package

This doesn't seem to be a nordic version, this is a balkan version.
It's multi csc and has csc's of croatia, bulgaria, serbia, montenegro, bosnia, slovenia and romania.
Apart from a few icon changes i see no difference.

It's nordic because i get it to samsung kies and i live in finland.
It have fast unlock.

I've googled everywhere but can't find anywhere where a one packaged rom can be split into PDA/Modem/CSC. Please, anybody who can help me out or even forward me a link where it can be researched would be much appreciated.

i once try to extract the modem (amss) for one of this "one package" but after i open the .tar.md5 with 7zip I couldn't delete the other files inside

Can you please look up what different CSCs u can select?
You just need to type *#272*Device IMEI# at the phone dial pad.
Then a list shows up with availible CSCs. In my list there is only Balkan ones.
I would be very thankful.

There are ~37 different csc and NEE is current csc

uber fast as always: thanks!
anything new as compared to kj1?
Thanks for the post. Safe to assume this has the new bootloader, correct? If so, I'll wait for Intratech to give us the old resettable one.
Hate the yellow triangle.
Has XEF CSC, apparently french.
megaupload or rapidshare mirror please?
total wipe or frankstein??
Why do those releases not come with an official changelog ^^
If new bootloader, any need to change normal flashing procedure with odin? (reboot+reset time+pda)
Anyone flashed this already? Is it branded? Please report.
It does have the new bootloader, just FYI. It's not a wipe ROM (which is the normal thing for these... most are non-wipe).
The new bootloader doesn't require any different flashing technique. It simply means that resetting the flash counter is more difficult. Just flash the old bootloader via PDA (or Bootloader) and you can reset via USB Jig again. No problem.
Everything works well. No issues whatsoever. Fixed a few missing bits that I had from my stripped down Kitchen ROM, like flash not working in the stock browser, for example.
KI4 modem works fine for me.
I've been quite happy with ki8, so what's your feedback on this new release? Smoother? Faster?
I haven't noticed any speed boost over KI8, honestly. It's equal in performance.
Fixed the vibrate icon?
Google talk video?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
it comes with Portuguese????
all i need is that!!
i've got a XEF phone and i'm not getting this through Kies or checkfus.
I wonder where it came from

Vibrate icon still there. Google talk is the same as from KI8.
So its the same thing as all the other updates. Though - wasn't the KJ2 modem used in ICS for the Samsung Galaxy demo at the Google event?
Cou you upload Kernel file? And what is SS_DL.dll file for?

Installing Integrate Package without CSC
Hi,
here is something i noticed, did not read in any thread or guide and might be helpful:
If you flash an Integrated Package (no separate files, only one file) with Odin normally there would be apps in the CSC-File which are installed into your system. Those apps are not removed if you install a different csc later.
If you do not want to have the stuff of the CSC-File (especially the apps) in your system do the following:
1) Flash the integrated package with Odin
2) When the phone restarts automatically after flashing: stop it by pressing Home + volume down + power. Usually at this point something like "installing update" would be printed - you have to be fast. (If "installing update" is printed and the phone reboots right after that that does not have to mean you were to slow - but it may)
3) now install a clean csc, most likely a multi csc or something likewise
This is relevant, because the latest images are all Integrated Packages. There is a 99.9% chance that this works with all samsung phones - however it was tested with galaxy ace.
@admin: If there is a better category for this (for all phones) please move it there - I did not find one. thanks.
I tested this rom and its buttery smooth, overscroll glow activated by default and lag free. No sleep of death or wake delay

It seems that this version has better battery life
It have couple of languages but it doesn't have romanian ... to bad for me !
Can someone help me with add languages in this rom ?
I search the forum but i didn't find a way to add a language in a stock rom ...
I think it's a way to do this : get desired language from another rom and flash it from recovery !!!
But i don't know which are the languages files ... if someone know it, tell me, i'll do it ! Thank you !

Yeah. It looks like battery life is great!
Free RAM is not bad either. even with SNS service, twitter, google sync(gmail, contact, calendar)
In running services, it takes 70-90 MB!
I notice that screencapture service is not there anymore. but you can still take screenshot(home+power)
Froyo has it always running.
Call quality seems better too. but not sure though.

hi
i succesfully update to official GB 2.3.6 DXKT5 through kies.

2. when i unlock the phone, the virtual unlock button "unlock" change to "sound off",
3. when i click menu button, the option "more" change to "space"
4. on running services , the running time -->> "tap to write"
5. and some others similar problems
before i update, my rom was stock rom GB 2.3.4 DXKPD, rooted with CF root,of course with CMW 4.0.0.9. i already wipe data/ reset factory b4 updating..

Thanks for the firmware but it seems not to be expandable... well not by Stuffit Expander for Windows which says "This is not recognised as an expandable file". Is it a. a damaged file; b. not really a .rar file (but renaming it to '.zip' didn't help; c. should be expanded on another OS that understands this sort of thing?
These files are processed in the Android kit as a 'zip file... why is it stored as a .rar file, please?

The real firmware is stored as a .tar.md5 , in which they compress to a .rar for smaller space

Post build.prop from this firmware who have downloaded
Root works fine .. :good:
looking at build.prop it is exact KTQ which is carrier free.. this may just add some language / bloat and csc
So they uploaded a new firmware only to add some launguage etc. ?

Thanks mudkipstar.
Repacked ROM, just PDA for odin.
Bootloader, Baseband (radio) and CSC has been removed.
No risk of hard brick, no lose of 3G or WIFI problem, no operator customization.*

huh?
i downloaded the file, inside CODE_S5830XWKTQ.tar.md5 there is a boot & recovery image file...always a risk for a brick.
Hi,
I have flashed this ROM successfuly on S5830 Ace using Odin PC, and appart from a few usual lags, it works great ! (Merci Free !)
However, I tried flashing it using the experimental Mobile ODIN port which brings support for Galaxy Ace (S5830), but after following the exact instructions posted, my Ace reboots a few times as expected ... but reboots back into the old ROM as if nothing had happened oO At least it isn't bricked ...
The Mobile ODIN port for S5830 is posted here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2029180, and since I'm a newcomer to the forum I can't post my problem there yet
Does anybody else experience this wierd behavior ?
Do note I haven't tried flashing other ROMs with it yet since I'm mainly concerned about this particular one for the moment.
Edit : I had root enabled before flashing. And just in case it rings any bells, I'm flashing this ROM over itself to restart from scratch, ie:this ROM is already installed on my Ace via Odin PC.

if you did the Odin flash correctly and the problem still persist. maybe there's a problem with the ROM. try flashing the Spanish ROM same as this.
I suggest you flash a custom ROM. faster than stock ROM. and theres a lot of customization options for it.
welcome, BTW.

Cheers ijustzeke, I'm glad to be here
I tried flashing another ROM from sammobile, it failed the same (they're in proper .tar.md5 format since they work via Odin PC) ... until ...
... I flashed the Cyanogenmod 7 ZIP via CWM. Then, I was able to reinstall MobileODIN and flash the stock rom over CM7, this is wierd ...
Thanks for the tips anyway, I'll post my problems in the dev thread when my profile matches the requirements, cheers !
