Hi guys!
I want to install The Myth Ace for my device, but, i have a lot of questions about it :
Firstly, my android settings:
ANDROID VERSION: 2.3.5
BASEBAND: S5830XWKS2
KERNEL: 2.6.35.7-perf-CL679797 [email protected] #1
GINGERBREAD.BGKS5
1) I have to change my baseband to install TheMyth ICS?
2) I want to install TheMyth ICS from this, which version i have to download?, beta 2 full, beta 2 lite?

I just installed TheMyth: just followed the instructions and it all worked out grrreat
I used the TheMyth ICS which was posted in the developer forum.
I know, but, i don't know if i have to install another baseband
I think you can use it because I install it with different baseband

U can use with any baseband. Just ensure that u're using gingerbread 2.3.x before u upgrade to TheMyth

hey devilsking i tryd to flash the myth rom on my ace i am using 2.3.4 DDKQ6,,, i wiped dalvik cache partition cache battery cache nd factry reseted the phn before and after flashing too but it resulted in bootloop... any help would be appreciated i so want to flash ur rom but it isnt working...

yes u can.
i've just flashed my sga baseband GB 2.3.4 DDKQ6 exactly like yours, with the myth ics lite beta2, and it was working fine and running smoothly. the only problem i have is the ics keyboard. coz i'm not really a qwerty type , LOL. can any one tell me how to get back to samsung original keyboard (with 3x4 layout ) ? thanx

It is possible. D only problem is d language. In most europe firmware default language is russia. Bt u can change it to english frm settings. Im frm india & i've flashed europe firmware lik KPH, KPB & KPO. So no problem.

Currently m using KPH. Hv been using it fr a very long tym. I like it. It supports many custom roms.

And just to confirm it 100%, i bought my SGA from China and installed KPH(russia) once and it worked without any problem, no problem with KPN(spain) as well.

KPO is d latest, i agree. Custom roms r built using different firmware. Fr example firstua rom & cyceron works on kph. Gingerreal works gud on kpo. So u c, it totally depends on ur taste of rom. If u flash KPO & later u would like 2 try firstua rom, u wont b able to flash coz u will b on KPO. Its ur choice dude. 1st decide which rom u wanna flash & den flash d firmware it requires to run d rom.

don't use custom rom now!! use stock rom for sometime!!
root your phone 1st do some basic mods then go for custom rom when u are bored with with stock!!

Don't listen to that guy, try everything and pick what's best for you.
On the other hand, you have all the instructions in the CM7 thread. Don't be a f**** and read the install guide from there.

am saying him to try everything but not now!! cz most users f*** up their phones by trying stuffs when they are newbie so am telling him to try those stuffs after learning more abt Android & flashing
Edit: IMO i recommend u to use SPEEDMOD kernel or SIYAH kernel over stock cz speedmod is good in terms of speed & battery compared to stock & siyah is best in battery backup flashing kernel won't change UI & some kernel like speedmod won't support custom ROM's dunno abt siyah i think it supports custom too

Thanku Rajaspidey,actually I used galaxy pop before this,I installed cm7 on it...but I don't wanna ruin this stock ROM. But I need more battery backup. U said about speedmod n other one,wheare can I get those n how can I update plz give me the links n also tell me if I don't like them can I revert back to thia original custom ROM....?? Plz rly,tanq

here's the link for speed mod use the stable kernel 16 am on v17 test-1 & that is perfectly fine
dunno abt siyah, i hink it has custom clock!!
i recommend u to use SPEEDMOD!!
u can make even stock kernel like custom upto certain limit if u are on XWKF3 temme i hv an mod for battery, auto color change to green in notif when connected to gtalk & CRT screen off!!
& i hv musicplayer.apk customised by me to look like itunes cz Samsung default album art looks cheap!!
i also have mod to use volume keys for camera
volume keys can & musicplayer.apk works on any firmware
u can freeze apps u don like with titanium backup i freezes game hub & readers
don't forget to take cam bakup
before flashing & this is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!
& take an cwm as soon as u root & copy it to pc !!

SpeedMOD can be used for any version cz its just a kernel !!
u can have different kernel, Modem & ROM in a phone (Mostly but i can be wrong read every line of mother post in a thread before flashing & read some user feedbacks too)
If I don't like speedmod ,can I revert back to my old look...?

Kernel wont change look of ur phone its just an intermediator between OS & hardware which decides speed & other hrdware properties !!
& about ur concern yes u can but u don need to go back to stock
BTW i flashed CheckROM & Siyah Kernel yesterday ll let u knw soon & if u wanna change ROM u can ask here !!

hi folks iam using a Samsung galaxy ace gt-S5830 with andriod 2.3.5 rooted
iam facing a problem with the camera flash it doesnt work at times , but its not dead completely it works sometimes , ive tried almost everything even updated my firmware from 2.3.4 to 2.3.5 please help me if u know a solution to it and thanks in advance

Could be firmware problem. Try to reflash the ROM.

well i also think it might be a hardware issue as i was experiencing the same in 2.3.4 as well as 2.3.5 , it works sometimes like if i dont use it for a while and turn the flash it turns on and also when it works it dosent give a steady beam , then if it dosent work for the 2nd time , anyways thank u guys both for ur precious views

I didnt like it at all its very lagy on my device
My question is can i flash cm7 or cm9 or miui or any other rom like for example check rom v6 on my ics LPQ
Or i have to be on ginger bread to flash those ?

Those are different things... LPQ is stock rom... but CM9 bases on different roms. So it's impossible right now. But in the future if CM9 uses LPQ rom as a base rom then it may be possible but it's a very little possibility.

You can flash what you want, reboot in recovery, back up you current rom, wipe everything, flash new rom. Done

Start scrolling... if u r on gingerbread. Superrom is the best for u
