hi folks iam using a Samsung galaxy ace gt-S5830 with andriod 2.3.5 rooted
iam facing a problem with the camera flash it doesnt work at times , but its not dead completely it works sometimes , ive tried almost everything even updated my firmware from 2.3.4 to 2.3.5 please help me if u know a solution to it and thanks in advance

Could be firmware problem. Try to reflash the ROM.

well i also think it might be a hardware issue as i was experiencing the same in 2.3.4 as well as 2.3.5 , it works sometimes like if i dont use it for a while and turn the flash it turns on and also when it works it dosent give a steady beam , then if it dosent work for the 2nd time , anyways thank u guys both for ur precious views

There's nothing called as a best rom. All roms r gud over here. U just have to pick the one which suits ur criteria.

best rom? no such thing. try urself and stick to the one u comfortable with
deodex? all custom rom are deodex by default
a2sd? learn to search and read, like this and this and this

Firstly, my android settings:

BASEBAND: S5830XWKS2
KERNEL: 2.6.35.7-perf-CL679797 [email protected] #1
GINGERBREAD.BGKS5
1) I have to change my baseband to install TheMyth ICS?
2) I want to install TheMyth ICS from this, which version i have to download?, beta 2 full, beta 2 lite?

I just installed TheMyth: just followed the instructions and it all worked out grrreat
I used the TheMyth ICS which was posted in the developer forum.

U can use with any baseband. Just ensure that u're using gingerbread 2.3.x before u upgrade to TheMyth

hey devilsking i tryd to flash the myth rom on my ace i am using 2.3.4 DDKQ6,,, i wiped dalvik cache partition cache battery cache nd factry reseted the phn before and after flashing too but it resulted in bootloop... any help would be appreciated i so want to flash ur rom but it isnt working...

yes u can.
i've just flashed my sga baseband GB 2.3.4 DDKQ6 exactly like yours, with the myth ics lite beta2, and it was working fine and running smoothly. the only problem i have is the ics keyboard. coz i'm not really a qwerty type , LOL. can any one tell me how to get back to samsung original keyboard (with 3x4 layout ) ? thanx

Hi everyone. I am not sure which rom to intall on my sga(out of TheMyth Ics beta 2 & cyanogenmod 7.1). I dcided to install d rom having less bugs. So , which rom hasj less bugs. Can u state the bugs in each tom if any?

i tried like all the rom(which are working here and i am with infinity for now)
and i had problem with cyno7.1
so i will refer TheMyth Ics beta 2 one and if i remember it does not have bugs either

like battery problem
and gapps problem
some have solved them too (we have good dev here )
but i always get this problem and without gmail
my contacts and all get in problem
so i used TheMyth for a while and it works good
as it is base on stock rom it gives like all things in stock and if you want you can try cyno too but you should try cyno7.2 then as it is faster

Hey Domnic: I installed ICS2,but i faced a wierd problem ,Hence was back to Cynogenmod 7.1
Whenever i type messages/click app from app drawer touchpad was working so weird . It was clicking something else if if click something. i type "a" i types multiple letters

I never faced that problem. I guess d problem ws with touch calibration.

Flash a different rom. Infinity by nims is in d news lately. Y dont u try it?

edge connection gets disconnecting frequently. emo said its a baseband problem so i went to xxkph and then flashed to kq6. still same problem. so what should i do now. should i try another one or take it to service center ?

I have problem because i installed a new ROM : CyangoenMod 9 on this phone and install was completed and when the phone doesn't turn on .
Only the black screen and i can leave him for all day and nothing effects ;/ . do you know how to repair it??

which cm9 did u install?
the one in "s5830" section or the one in "s5830i" section?
with either case, ur phone is bricked and you'll have to flash stock rom via odin.
go to android development section and see the thread "Unbrick Tutorial"

Man if u do not know then i must tell u that cm9 for 5830i is still not functioning completely.
There has been only 1 build by bieltv3 dat also is an alpha build very buggy, not for daily use...
As for now our main project is cm7 and the devs. r working on it.....u shud flash stock rom using odin to get back your phone in working state.....:thumbup:

As I said earlier development for cm7 is going on...still no stable cm7, u can search for it in development section dude
And cm9 is very far...
