I have noticed my battery sucks lately. I know the battery isn't the greatest but I was able to get easily a day of use out if it. Now I can barely go a day. I purchased beautiful Widgets, battery indicator and xda app all last week And it seems after that is when my battery went to **** .I used launcher pro for a bit too but started having lag problems so I removed that. Today I uninstalled beautiful Widgets. I'm on wifi and in airplane mode. As I'm typing this I've lost %2 already. Wtf is going on? I have GPS Bluetooth and usually wifi off. I have use only 2G networks, sync only gmail and screen manually set and set to low 30sec TO.
Any suggestions?

Sounds like way more than that. I can certainly type a couple paragraphs before my % drops at all. You sure haven't installed something else? If not you could have a defect.? Possibly return it and get a new one?

Quick question, which ROM are you running? Ever since I switched over to leaked JI2, every couple days I notice that after running one of a few apps, the CPU just seems to go into overdrive. The phone gets really warm and the battery drains ridiculously fast. So fast that even plugging into my car charger won't charge the phone, even on idle. If I reboot, the phone cools down and the battery drain goes back to its normal, slow self.
I haven't narrowed it down to any specific app yet, but it seems to be either, Foursquare, Great Land Grab, or Bubble Blast.
Foursquare I have, I don't remember when I installed it. I am actually just running stock TW.

I get 15hrs... I am not ROOTED! I did the drain battery life process twice. This is with moderate usage. I am planning to do the drain battery process once a month cuz I hear it helps with battery life. Possible that u install something that's killing your battery.
Solution do the master reset if that doesn't help then it can be the battery is no good. I know that this is with the stock rom. If u are using another rom that's maybe the problem. U can try switchig roms to see if this is the problem. I hope this information has been helpful.
Does the master reset remove everything ? I have all my pics/videos on my phone meM. I have music and avatar on SD.

It seems as though it drains faster in standby with nothing running. I removed FourSquare last night and have nothing running as far as widgets. I'm going to reboot and see. I've had it unplugged since 7am this morning, after a little over an hour I lost 2%.. not that bad I guess..

I've had this happen a few times. For me, it's usually because my battery status gets thrown off somehow. The phone would read that I have 55% battery life left, but it really only is at 25 or 30% and it always feels like it's draining fast. I usually turn off the phone, pull the battery out for a few seconds and then put it back it. When I turn on the phone the battery percentage is corrected and the phones seems to be back to normal battery use. I don't know why this happens.

This was suddenly happening to me today -- my battery started draining very quickly, mostly on standby (I usually have quite good battery life). No new or unusual apps installed in the past week (I don't use Foursquare).
I gave it a power-down/battery pull; no adjustment in the % as described in the post above, but it seems to be draining more normally now. Weird....

Same thing happens to me every couple days. Rebooting the phone fixes it every single time though, so it's not a big deal if I catch it in time. If I didn't catch it, I'd estimate my phone would be drained (even in standby) within 4 hours or so.

Same here, I rebooted after removing FS and some other apps/touitur and got 1day 13hrs on the next charge with pretty moderate use. So whatever it was, it's gone now. If it was FS hopefully it's fixed soon.
Had a similar experience, with battery % entering freefall every time I turned the phone on. Two things helped:
1. I did the drain cycle. Drain the battery completely till it shuts off and charge it to full while off. This does not 'fromat/form' the battery in any way it just helps the phone to calibrate the meter.
2. I uninstalled few apps that I suspected were draining the battery.
I advise you install JuicePlotter and see the graph of battery drain. You'll be able to tell if the phone is entering standby or not. Thanks to some culprit apps (still figuring out what it was exactly) my phone was not entering standby at all hence the crap battery life.
I've searched and read the current threads. I feel this is more severe than most realize.
Live wallpapers are preventing the phone from sleeping. Period. I've ruled everything out. In 6 hours my screen dried up my battery while I slept. Screen off. Everything off.
89% of the battery because of the screen.

Excellent. So it's worse than I thought.
My battery did a similar 6-7 hour steady death the other day, I did the overnight recharge > 1 hour charge while off > 1 hour charge while on and my battery is good now.
While on the charger the phone doesn't sleep...
'Wave Live Wallpaper Light" app is not preventing sleep on mine

I've done a hard reset twice, and the problem still persists with no apps downloaded.
I found my phone was not sleeping as well. I didn't do much extensive testing but I thought it may be weatherbug so I deleted that. I also read somewhere to reboot your phone and using a task manager wipe everything 5x then turn the screen off and let is sleep for 5 mins. And look in battery setting to see if the # is different and it was. So those 2 things fixed it for me

Maybe the charger idea or rogue app. I have not used live wallpapers more then just to check them out and have not downloaded a whole bunch of apps. Anticipation formatting when root is here.
I am thinking I might just have to go to the Sprint store and get a replacement and see how that one works.
When the screen locks without going to sleep, it just doesn't go to sleep. I sat here and stared at it for a while. It just sat there on the weather homescreen/lockscreen.

I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight here.
I've noticed horrible battery life, and constant 200 - 600ma current draw. My awake time is absurdly high too. Then all of a sudden last night I noticed it was only pulling 50ma, and the awake time was staying low. Nothing had changed, no app updates, nothing at all. It just suddenly stopped having a wake-lock. Then this morning it went back to being wonky. So I finally gave in and did a hard reset, everything back to stock, installed just one app, battery monitor widget, turned on airplane mode (I thought maybe weak signal was a factor) and left the phone alone for a few hours. When I got back to it, the entire time it was pulling between 360 and 450ma, and the awake time matched the uptime (well, only off by a few minutes). To reiterate, this was with the radios off, and a fresh hard reset.
I really don't know what else to do.
I should mention this same behavior was exhibited on my first Evo3D that I swapped for a broken vibrator motor, so I don't think this is a hardware fault. Actually back then I thought it was normal, so I didn't think about it much, but then I got to thinking it's not normal for an idle phone to die in 8 hours with airplane mode on and no activity...
Thanks for any ideas!
Try downloading an app called CPU Spy and make sure you're phone is going into "deep sleep". If it isn't, I would start going through the apps through process of elimination by uninstalling each one and resetting the timer each time on CPU Spy.

Nice app. I let it run for about an hour, it showed something like 7% sleep, 70% 384 MHz and the rest was 1188. I uninstalled the only thing, Battery Monitor Widget, then reset CPU Spy's stats and waited another hour...now it's 97% sleeping, 2% 384, 1% 1188. Looks like BMW was the problem. Thanks for the app suggestion.

Doesn't make sense, but we'll see.
I just charged to 100% and wiped battery stats cleared caches and rebooted. Gonna leave my phone alone for an hour then use it for an hour and see how shes doing.
Haha, she. That's cute.
Let me know how it works, I might do that if good results.
Has to be a she, i dont think i could love a man this deeply.
Oh you could! You gotta feel it deep down.
I give up.. its basically exactly the same. No matter what i do. Alarm manager seems to cause the most partial wake locks for me i think.. unless i have touch sounds on then its AudioOut_1 causing the most... im just gonna sit back and wait for aosp a magical fix everything button to show up on my screen.
Edit: I dont know what im doing anyway. Ill just save it for the pro's.
All of a sudden my phone has been deep sleeping.
I haven't really touched it since I unplugged it which was nearly an hour ago and it's still at 100%.
Most I did was take 2 pictures and send a couple text messages and turn my phone to silent.
But the OS is still marked as 55%. F.uck logic?
Edit: Scratch that, phone suddenly reading 97%. What do?
I dunno. I just no im not happy with my brand new phone not lasting a day off the charger. I only had it stock for an hour or two so im probably going to flash stock over the weekend and see how it runs for a couple days.

The LG interface has a glitch with reading battery life. It bounces around quite a bit above 90%. It only gets exact at levels below 90%.
That's fine, but the problem remains.
It's not -horrid- drain, but my phone has been running on battery for the past 3 hours with little interaction and it's at 80%.
I don't know what could still be dropping it. I'm not expecting a perfect battery especially when I've had it for a few days, just doesn't make sense.

Besides, it's the Android OS that's draining it. It sticks to 51-55% no matter what.
Keep Awake is the only thing that's constantly running.
I thought 40-50% is normal for Android OS?
Lawbreaker on another forum said.
"And remember, it is a percentage. The fewer other tasks you perform with the phone, the higher percentage of usage the Android O/S will be.
Basically, if your usage was 25% Display, 15% GPS, 10% Sync, 50% Android OS, and then you stopped using the display, turned off GPS, and killed the sync, your usage would be 100% android OS because you removed everything else using the battery."

I guess this makes sense considering everything else is really low. My brightness was at 0% during work so I wouldn't get caught texting haha.
The Keep Awake has shown improvement, on for 1h 44m after being unplugged for 5 hours. But near 30% drain seems to be a lot when barely touched.
I'm not concerned with the percentage number as much as I am the keep awake time. I believe if that gets under control, my battery live will be better. I'm not unhappy with going a whole day without charging, but I would like to see it get the best possible battery life.

Last week, prior to the new OTA, my battery life took a noticeable and significant drop.
According to my Battery Widget my fully charged battery lasts on average 1 day 17 hours and 24 minutes. This is typically with between 2 and 3 hours of screen on time. But ever since late last week my battery has been dying in under 24 hours.
I have been using the built in power usage menu, Better Battery Stats, Battery Widget, and now even GSam Battery to try to identify the problem, but I have been unsuccessful. GSam Battery says that apps are using 83.9% of my battery, with the Kernel (Android OS) the largest offender by far (58.5%).
Has anybody else had a noticeable drop in battery life recently? I'm just wondering if it's an app update that has gone wrong somewhere, but I haven't been able to pinpoint anything yet.

I've given it three full cycles from 100% to 0% back to 100% now. I unplugged last night when I went to bed with a full charge, and this morning it was down to 74%. I've never lost that much battery over night.

It might not be an app causing it. You know how the DNA was said to have really bad battery life when it was launched? it was cause of this issue...i think...are you rooted? if so, install a custom kernel and it should have the hsic wakelock fixed. Its weird that the problem just started happening randomly but it seems to be that issue.
Try disabling fastboot and restarting if you haven't already?

I'm not rooted, running bone stock.
I've had the phone since November, I got it a few weeks before they were even launched (HTC sent it to me) and the battery has been an absolute champ the entire time I've owned it. If it's something kernel related I'd be really surprised, as this only just started happening last week.
I'll try disabling fastboot and restarting to see what that does for me, though honestly I've never changed those settings in the roughly 5 months of owning the phone, so I still feel like there has to be something I can uninstall to resolve.
According to both GSam and Better Battery Stats, something is keeping my phone awake nearly constantly. In the screenshot below, you can see that since the last boot, the phone has been on for 4h 27m, and it's been awake for 4h 22m. Only 18m of screen on time.
I installed Wakelock Detector this morning after my battery had dropped from 100% to 74% overnight. I rebooted and it's been running ever since, so I guess I'll keep an eye on it as the day progresses. Right now it's not showing anything unusual, at least so far as I can tell. Maybe I should just recharge back to 100% and let it start fresh.

Well I finally did this yesterday and it seems to have done the trick. Not really sure why that would become a problem randomly after 5 months, but the battery is running seemingly even better than before now.
I couldn't charge it to a full 100% last night, but I got it to 99% and I had to head out, and it's been off the charger for 15 hours now and is still at 90%.
Kudos to you, thanks for the tip!
no problem! i'm glad i could help! the thing is..fastboot doesn't allow your device to fully shut down so disabling that and restarting closes everything and allows the phone to actually reboot.
I think its a dumb option since phones usually aren't restarted unless there is a need for it...i go weeks without having to restart so why do i need a option thats going to save me 10 seconds for problems. i always keep it disabled.

How do you have 90% after 15 hours? What did you shut off? Your on wifi i assume. That is amazing battery if so. Sorry for being skeptical but that seems impossible...

Well for the first three hours I was on 4G but I just wasn't using the phone much. Got home and had it set to WiFi for about two or three hours, then went to bed and shut off both WiFi and Mobile Networks (I always do that at night).
It did seem pretty ridiculous to me as well, but you can check out the screenshots below. The first one was earlier, the next two I just took.
