Weird app installing itself? - HTC EVO 3D

I noticed that for a few weeks now I'm getting spam type notifications in my notification bar saying things like I've won a free ipad. Was just clearing them out, but now I notice that a shortcut to a "market" has showed up on my homescreen. Can't find anything I didn't install in titanium or my stock application manager. Anyone know what this is and how it gets through my security app. I'm using bit defender. I notice my phones a bit glitchy as well. Widgets aren't wanting to load up. I'd like to figure it out before I do a data wipe.

Usually happens after installing a cracked app. Although I have seen this after installing MP3 Music down loaders as well.

Search for "Airpush detector" in the market then uninstall whatever apps are detected then they shouldn't show up again

Check this out.

Thanks for the info. Got em. It was a couple of winter scene live wallpapers.

Pulse lost it's icon.

After a day of use, "Pulse news" lost it's icon. It now shows a generic book icon with Pulse as the title. Same in "extras". If it bothers me enough, I guess I will un/re-install it. Can't figure out how uninstall it though. I started by removing it from home & it was then "archived". All I knew is it was no longer in extras. After some searching, found out I needed to un-archive it. Pretty lame! It would be so easy for B&N to adopt the methods used be many other launchers to remove or uninstall apps.
Anyone know how to uninstall apps in B&N 1.2.0?
Thanks,
kev
This very same thing happened to me yesterday with the Springpad app, it lost it's icon.
I also had an issue where Pulse reader was behaving as a book, so every time tried to launch it would fail, dunno what that was about.
In any case, I had to "uninstall" the apps and re-download them, fixed it.
To "uninstall", you have to go into your B&N online account, from there go to your Nook library and delete.

Spyware on my Note? Only used Google Apps and Stock everything.

I installed a few apps from the google app marketplace over the last week or two, and found I'm getting random advertisements popping up under my phones notifaction list ( Where you can drag down the menu at the top of your phones screen and see recent events. ) There are also buttons being placed in empty locations on my phones main tabs, like shortcuts to applications or widgets, and they link me to the web. ( I have multiple browsers and just close the box when it asks which browser to use. )
I don't understand where this is coming from or what I have to do to get rid of it... I understand that some apps have advertisements, but those are only while the application is actually opened and being used I thought. This has been sending me messages waking me up when I'm sleeping, It's kinda sorta bull**** lol... And I don't think I need an anti virus program constantly zapping my Notes resources, but yeah...
Any comments? What do I do to pinpoint which program is causing it, and will removing that app even fix the problem?
Seems you got airpush install somehow, download add on detector from the market
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
Make sure you post which app it was so we can all avoid it. 1 star it in the market and say it has AirPush and to avoid it before you uninstall it please!

Apps have auto-installed - Lookout says there is no malware - not sure what to do.

Here is a pic of what is showing. I know that I didn't install them. They are showed up on two different panels automatically and I don't have auto-add widgets enabled. I just ran Lookout and nothing showed up as an issue. know not to open them, but how did they get there and what is the best way to get rid of them?
Thanks in advance for your help!

try scanning with sophos from play store. if they dont show, after sophos, do hard reset after reset gwallet
I have figured out that this was a result of recently installing the free version of GpsFix.
I thought my Ad Free Android app would stop that kind of thing
Steer clear of that one!

[Q] Intrusive adware?

So I wanted to download this app to my nexus 7 so I could watch some movies. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hd.peliculashd
(app). So i downloaded it but to watch a movie it makes you download some app https://play.google.com/store/apps/...sMSwxLDEwMiwiY29tLmhkLmZhc3R2aWRlb3BsYXllciJd. So i downloaded it however my av says its intrusive adware. I went and opened up the movie app and it now worked and it works good and has a lot of new movies for free. But as soon as i uninstall the player it wants me to redownload it. My question is, is it a big deal to have the app. Does it do anything at all? Can it in anyway damage my device?
Read the reviews. No bueno.
The apps permissions don't give it the ability to do much of anything other than connect to the internet and start when your phone turns on. All it probably does is stick ads in your notification bar, and android has an option to prevent it from doing that. There's (probably) nothing it can do to your phone.

Browser opening ad website after updating apps

Sometimes when an app finishes updating my browser (Via Browser) opens and loads a page that is advertising apps. First it was Appsquare, now it's some other website I forgot to remember. I have NO idea what the cause is and I didn't install any strange apps to my knowledge. I never installed any APK that I downloaded outside the Play Store and both Malwarebytes Antimalware and Eset found nothing. This doesn't always happen when I update an app so there's no set pattern. Smetimes it doesn't happen after updating one or more apps and sometimes it does and that is why I can't really figure out which app is causing it, if it is an app at all because there are no ads displaying in either app I use because I paid to get rid of it. Yes, I did some research and it seems to be an issue mainly affecting Samsung users and one site in particular did some research and found out it was a shady ad network behind it: Clickity. My symptoms do match but I have an LG device, not a Samsung device and I use a different browser. I have used a few of Cheetah Mobile's apps in the past but I'm sure I deleted all traces of it on my phone, at least the things I could find. And I haven't used a single app from those devs anymore since I did a factory reset on my phone and updated to Android 8 so there shouldn't be a trace left. I need help fixing this because I have no idea where to look.
EDIT: It turned out to be my clock widget app "Digital Clock Widget Xperia" made by Lazar Dimitrov that was causing those ads to pop up, despite paying to remove ads.
