[Q] Repair X10 Mini? - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

flash with flashtool use E10_nAa-07_2.6.29.6-nAa-07.ftf file.
When flashing, my phone is reboot and then appear nAa kernel logo and recovery mode. I use various way to fix but not working.
No boot with phone system.
based on android 2.1
How can i fix?
Help me.
Sorry for my English.

nAa kernel is calculated for android 2.3.X and above. This kernel won't see based firmware, so flash the stock one here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1403808, then copy 2.3.X firmware to your root folder on CDCard, flash nAa kernel, enter recovery(hold back button when kernel's bootlogo appears) and install the rom. If you have already moved firmware to your cd card, just boot into recovery and flash it

Just install miniCM7 (android 2.3.7) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1068553, if you have latest 2.1.1.A.0.6/2.1.1.C.0.0 SE firmware and Baseband: M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015. Don't forget to unlock bootloader.
Good luck

Why I always be brick after flash nAn 08 kernel?

Im trying up my mini to GingerDX (follow stelios97's guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1200675)
My FW is 2.1.1.A.0.6 already
My Baseband: M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015
I did root, xRecovery and unlock BL my mini successully.
Now I only have to flash nAa 08 Kernel to be able to install GingerDX, I use flashtool 0.5.3 to flash E10_nAa-08_2.6.29.6-nAa-08.ftf to my phone in order:
- copy file E10_nAa-08_2.6.29.6-nAa-08.ftf to Flashtool\firmwares
- run flashtool
- run flash -> flashmode and choose E10 nAn-08 -> OK
- turned off phone, hold back and plug in
- flashing
- done
- brick
I tried 3 time and always be brick, I have to plug out the battery cab to turn off then flash firmware 2.1.1.A.0.6 again.
So what did I miss? Is there any other way to flash my kernel to nAa-08?
What do you mean by "brick" ?
Are you able to enter the CWM menu ? (click Back when boot logo appears)
My problem:
After flash that kernel, my phone reboot, I see one nAa kernel logo (some triangle and circlea with black and red color) then my display be dark and nothing happen, no boot, no led when plug cab, just like a brick. I have to plug out battery cab to turn off my phone. If I turn it on, everything will happen like that. Only one way that plug out battery cab to turn off then flash stock FW 2.1.1.A.0.6
I tried flash nAa 10 kernel but still be brick like that
My opinion is that this kernel is not for stock ROM.
After having flashed this kernel you have to flash a CM7 ROM (GingerDX or MiniCM7).
To do so, you have to have copied the zip file of the ROM on your SDCard, then flash the kerner using flashtool, then enter to CWM by pressing the back button (press several times) as soon as you see the nAa kernel logo, then wipe all and select your zip to upgrade.
I didnt install CWM, can use xRecovery instead of CWM to install GingerDX.zip in SD card?

If you flash nAa kernel it will install CWM. Use this to flash the ROM.

ROM problem

I have a week trying to install a new ROM to my phone (xperia mini pro). I follow the instructions, install the recommended kernel for each Rom. When i finish installing the ROM i reboot the phone put the kernel logo and don't do anything else (the last time i let it in the kernel logo for 10 hours and it didn't work).
I fix it using Wotan server. But what i really care about is that i want to prove new Rom, so if someone can help me i will be really thankful.
PS: Sorry if you think my english is bad, is because my main language is not english

Hello,
I'm having the same problem, I don't get it at all. I bought my Xperia Mini Pro (SK17i) yesterday and so far I have been only able to flash stock rom and MiniCMSandwich AOSP Android 4.0.4 RC3, both of which work fine.
With all other roms I get stuck on the logo (depending on kernel - Sony, Sony Ericsson or Free Xperia logo). I do full wipe, dalvik cache etc. but nothing helps.
So far I tried: FXP 117 7.2.0, FXP 117 9.0.0 and XROM™ ICS RC7.
I tried different basebands, flashing in different order etc., no matter what I get stuck on the logo.
Could someone post a detailed step-by-step instruction how to flash either FXP or the XROM on the Mini Pro? Which baseband should I use (and how do I know it's the baseband's fault when the rom doesn't work), what about Wi-Fi etc.
I flashed Galaxy S+ (I9001) before and didn't have any of these issues.

I do exactly as it says. I had to flash stock rom before that, because update zip wouldn't work if I started from AOSP (or if I wanted to apply it after flashing FXP)
BTW, do I really have to flash stock ftf (kernel+baseband), which overwrites my CWM each time I want to flash FXP? I hate losing CWM.
Anyway, I did this:
1. I put the update.zip on the sdcard
2. I flashed the boot.img I unpacked from the update.zip using fastboot (went fine)
3. I applied update.zip using CWM
4. I did factory reset from CWM and wiped dalvik cache
After reboot - it hangs on the Free Xperia logo. I also tried flashing Rage kernel 2.8 with the same result. Oh, and does it matter if I flash kernel before or after the rom?

rage kernel is not compatible with cm7,

That's because for some stupid reason you formatted the system partition, which must not be done on some ROM installations.
The CM7 installation requires info from the system folder, but since you formatted it, you don't have the info on your phone and installation cannot be installed.
Reinstall stock firmware, follow the same procedure, but do NOT format system, but do make factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik cache.
Well, I was asked to try formatting /system.
Ok, again then. BTW, is there a pre-rooted .62 stock rom somewhere? I only see .69, which isn't good AFAIK.

Noob question. Please don't ignore

Hello, I own an Xperia Mini ST15i, and I have successfully unlocked the bootloader and rooted the phone. Now I would like to flash a custom kernel and a custom ROM. I have read really a lot on this forum, but "the more I read the more I am confused". I have never done this before (aside from rooting my Nook Simple Touch with Touchnooter). Thats why I need your confirmation about the steps I am going to do next on my phone, because I don't want to mess things up.
This is my current phone configuration:
Kernel version: 2.6.32.9-perf [email protected] #1
Build number: 4.1.B.0.431
I would like to flash this kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1709032
and this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1705255
I downloaded all the files, including the new wifi modules, and copied them into the SD card of the phone. At this point I am asking for help, how to proceed, step by step.
On my computer, I have installed the Android SDK and Flashtool 0.9, on the phone I installed the ROM manager from Clockworkmod, premium version.
Thank you for your help.
hmmm...since you have download all files i suggest you flash the kernel first using flashtool....it got per-rooted and CWM along with it...this can help you alot....
after flashing kernel you can boot into CWM, make backup before you start flashing ROM that you have download....
Flash Kernel
Go To CWR
Do Wipe for all Data/Cache/System (From Mount Partitions Entry)
Do Wipe for Dalvik Cache (from Advanced Entry)
Flash the Rom
Flash Fixes and AddOns if Your Device requires any
Then Flash the WiFi Modules

Edit: the file containing the new kernel has got a .img sufix, instead of .zip. Is CWM able to flash .img files? And if so, what is better, flashing it in CWM recovery in the phone, or through Flashtool 0.9?

yhu flash Kernel [.img] via Flashtool & flash ROM [.zip] via CWM...........Enjoy!!!
Due to an unexpected holiday I postponed the flashing to this weekend. One more question: How do I access the CWM recovery in ST15i? I tried holding volume down button while booting, I tried pressing it constantly, tried to press it while the SONY logo glowed more, but nothing happened. (the kernel is not flashed yet)

if you haven't flash the kernel then you cannot boot into CWM yet (unless you have install CWM using other method).....if you already flash the kernel then when your boot the phone, look at the Sony logo and the LED....once the LED is blink (blue colour) then press the volume down to enter CWM....
And if the kernel doesn't use led while seting up try to see with the back key light I think
Cause I know some kernel who doesn't have it
Thank you all for your advice. Kernel and ROM flashed, everything works like a charm.

If you want jelly bean, there's Cyanogenmod 10 by FXP, JellyVanilla and Cyanogenmod 10 by expeacer.
The easiest way to flash a kernel is via flashtool. Just download flashtool and install it. Go to the installation folder and install the drivers. For unlocking bootloader, fastboot should work for you and sdk tools should be installed.
Download the rom you want and the recommend kernel , place the installation zip file on your sd card and go back to flashtool.
In flashtool you click on the flash and select fastboot mode. You turn off your device and hold down the volume up key while connecting to pc. The blue led will light up. Then you select the boot.img you downloaded first. It should be named boot.img, otherwise rename it. Just select it and flashtool will automaticly flash it.
CHECK THE LOG BEFORE YOU PLUG OFF DEVICE!! If there are no errors, just restart device and press volume down again and again. Then you are in cwm. Look in the tutorial how to install the rom what has to be formatted/wiped (like cache or data, etc) and do it like it's explained there. Then select install zip from sd card -> choose zip and install it.
Just reboot and enjoy
After seeing the links of jellybean roms i changed my mind. They have much problems! So could you suggest me an ICS rom?

In this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1694027 link it says that it has auto root. This means tha if I flash this kernel then i can flash the ExMIUIv4 2.8.10 rom without rooting?
Miui rom already rooted by default. Such autoroot kernel will give problem with miui rom, u'll get superuser from the kernel and lbe guard from miui at the same time.
I've fixed such bugs in my kernel, try it if u want.

Ok, can you send me a link of your kernel?
So,
1) I flash your kernel using flashtool
2) I download CMW (when i have your kernel and the stock ics)
3) I flash the custom rom
This is all i have to do?
Look in dev subforum, my kernel thread is there.
Anyway:
1- flash kernel. Obviously your bootloader need to be unlock to do this.
2- cwm recovery already in kernel, dont need separate download/install for it. Just boot into cwm after u flashed kernel.
3- do factory reset from cwm, then do wipe dalvik cache.
4- flash rom.
5- reboot into rom.
6- profit

You don't need to download cwm, it's included in the kernel! Just flash kernel and reboot, while rebooting press volume down again and again!

everything is explained there. After unlocking your BL, flash a custom kernel RAGE KERNEL is my favorite as of now. If it gets into bootloop, meaning, your phone enters the boot animation but cannot get into the home screen, just make a full wipe in CWM. Then reebot. Works 100% with me!

You can unlock your bootloader officially, but you will lose your "DRM" . As a result, "track ID" and some features of "Facebook inside xperia" will never work again.Unlocking bootloader via "test point method" is somewhat hard. But it is the best way. That is how I've unlocked mine..!!

Stock kernel flashable in cwm

Hello guys, I installed the minicm9 but want to return to original firmware. However, I am stuck at nAa kernel, which is for ICS obviously. I can't somehow enter flash mode and flashing official zip firmware does not change the kernel back to 2.1 stock. Is there a working CWM flahsable stock kernel? Or any way to completely shut off phone and enter flash mode? Thank you

Your question does not belong in this section, but in the Questions and Ansers...
I don't know if you have PC Companion or SEUS, but repairing using one of those Sony Ericsson official programs will restore the original kernel as well...
You can NOT flash a kernel through CWM.
