So I'm on my second S2. I returned the first one because the phone kept thinking it was charging when it wasn't because the usb connection was screwed up. I replaced it and started to have the same problem with the second one. I decided I wanted to take this one back but now phone is not recognized by computer. I've uninstalled/reinstalled kies for the drivers and a no go. The usb port is so out of wack it wont let the computer recognize the phone. All I want to do is get it back to stock to return it. I can boot the phone, get recovery, get download but it doesn't help me cuz the computer won't acknowledge the phone. I even jiggled the usb cord and my computer started to install drivers, but then it failed. Can I mobile odin back to stock? How? Am I screwed? Stupid usb port! BTW, I only have about 4 days left in my 30 day return period. This sucks!
Are you running a i777 ROM or an i9100? If you are running a hellraised ROM you need to download i9100 drivers.

Drivers are the same.
And download mode is definitely the same - There are only 2-3 different product IDs used by Samsung devices when in download mode.
You should be able to return to stock with Mobile Odin. It will flash from tar or Odin3 One-click Downloader exe either one. Just download the Return/Unbrick to Stock package from the development forum, or the One-Click Downloader from here.

I tried to dl this, but it fails every time. Can my phone really download a file like this? Also, whenever I've tried mobile odin in the past, ex: with a kernel, odin never seems to be able to find the file on my phone. Confused?
My USB port is definitely jacked. It's not a driver issue. for example, with the phone unplugged if I try to unclick/click usb debugging, I get the pop up that phone must be unplugged to this. Plus the noise when you plug the phone in to charge just keeps going off like 20 times in a row w/o it being plugged in.
Is there a cwm flashable stock kernel somewhere? I was able to get my phone "stockish" via nandroid bu, however the bu was while I was runny Entropy DD 1208. Therefore, I have cwm, and superuser. Superuser icon is in my app drawer and I can't get rid of it. Kind of a dead giveaway that I've modded my phone. If I could flash stock kernel, via cwm that should pretty much cover me.
You can download the file on your phone. You may have to switch to another browser if the stock browser doesn't do it. Hopefully you will do it over wifi, since it is pretty big ~300 MB.
Mobile Odin is programmed to detect files that contain flashable content. So if you put an Odin flashable tar, or an Odin One-click Downloader exe on the internal or external sdcard, Mobile Odin will find it.
Both Entropy512's packages, and the One-click downloaders are 7 zip files, and I'm not sure about extracting those on your phone. What you can do, if you have a dropbox account, or create one (they are free), download the file on your computer, unzip it there, and transfer the file to your phone using dropbox.
I don't think there is a CWM flashable stock kernel. You can extract the zImage from the stock package and flash it with Mobile Odin. Again, you can use drop box to transfer it from your pc. There is also an Odin flashable tar of the stock kernel as well as the straight zImage here.
The app Download All Files will download it.
Thanks for all the help fellas. So I'm in the process of doing all this. I was able to flash the stock kernel via mobile odin. I now have 3e recovery, which is good. It seems I've only partially lost root however. I installed tibu after flashing kernel, and it is not able to get su rights, however mobile odin still seems to be working. I'm gonna try to flash the back to stock package. Thanks again for all the help. Hopefully best buy won't give me a hard time considering this will be the second time returning a phone for the same issue.
That being said, I have read of only a handful of other people having this issue with the USB port malfunctioning. This is now my second round of this. Am I just unlucky or is this becoming more common? Gonna get insurance this time around
Are you plugging the phone primarily into your computer, or a powered USB hub?
Could be whatever you're using has a bad port and it's messing up the phone.
So I ran the odin one click via mobile odin, and now my phone is stuck on the samsung galaxy sII screen, and nothing is happening. Am I really screwed now. it's been on this screen for ten minutes. All the hard buttons are lit up on the bottom and it seems frozen.

I have very little personal experience with Mobile Odin. However, that package only contains the kernel, system image and modem. And Mobile Odin will not flash any bootloaders or param even if present.
So pull the battery, put it back and boot the phone and see where you are.
As far as the usb port malfunctioning, did the second phone come from the same place as the first one? Could have been from the same batch. I've only see a very few posts about bad usb port, and I've been in here since release.

So I've tried battery pull, and jig. Jig gets me to download mode, which unfortunately is basically useless since I have the usb issue. When I battery pull, I just end up back stuck at the boot screen. I did get the replacement from the same best buy, but the build numbers where different. This sucks. I think I have to go and play stupid (shouldn't be hard for me) and tell them about the usb issue and then say when I tried to reboot phone it got frozen. At least with the jig everything is cleared in terms of flash count. Just dont know if they will be able to do something to tell that I messed with the phone.

Have you tried to use ODIN to flash your phone back to a working ROM?
Also, be sure to flash the right ROM.. Verizon Fascinate and Telus Fascinate are 2 different phones..
Well... now theres a problem as ODIN won't see my phone in download mode. :/
Reinstall your USB drivers, and see if your cable is seated properly. If you can get into Download mode, most cables used will allow Odin to recognize. You may have to Odin back to a different ROM like Neo said.
Make sure you have the latest version of Odin

Did it over and over man.
It won't install any ROMS, kernals sure, not zips. If anything, everytime I try to unmount USB in Clockwork Recovery, it blinks and goes back to the previous screen.
Any ideas?
EDIT: The phone now won't get past the bootloader. Cannot get into Clockwork Recovery
when you flash back to stock with Odin... are you using all the fields in the screenshot on that link? eg. Pit, pda, phone, csc or just pda?
because I only use pda and flash the stock .md5 file. i'm out of ideas man... I'm kinda n00b at this myself, just bumping to maybe get a someone's attention.

So can you get into download mode and use ODIN to flash or not?
Are you still stuck at bootloader? Please be as descriptive as you can.
And no, I never heard of "cannot unmount USB storage" CWM... I've heard of mounting issues, but not unmounting...
IMHO, I think your best option here is to get ODIN working, then flash to a stock ROM with stock Kernel with PIT (Repartition) then flash CWM 2.5.
I dont see why you would need to unmount? what you can do is remove the battery cover remove the sd card. with the battery still out plug the phone into your usb and hold the volume down button. does it go into download mode then?
Then can Odin see your phone?
Also worst case try a different PC all together.
Are you on VZW or Telus?
I can get into download mode and use ODIN yes.
I am no longer stuck at the bootloader and can boot into stock froyo with ODIN.
I use ODIN to flash stock ROM and kernel, and everytime I flash back CWM 2.5. It won't let me install any ROMs. It gives me a status 7 error and aborts.
CWM just won't work
In case you didn't know, CWM can mount USB just like android so I don't have to boot into the OS to place a file. under mounts>mount USB storage>Unmount/Mount
Everytime I press unmount, the screen blinks and takes me back to the previous screen.
This is a Telus Fascinate.
I had a similar problem. Turns out my USB cable was culprit. Several others have had similar problems. Try a different USB cable.

Tried the fix, ODIN starts and then fails in the middle saying NAND write failed.
What could this mean? ODIN fails to install the fix :/
Tried a different cable, so cable is not the issue here.
Can we get one thing straight here though? The phone is not bricked as I can get into ODIN and flash what seems to be only stock files?

Hi!
I've got an SGS2 (i9100) and i tried to update firmware using Kies 2.0 which i installed and downloaded for the first time today.
During the upgrade something happened and all i get on the phone now is the logo i've described.
Kies is trying to do "emergency recovery" and is just sitting at 0% so i'm not sure what that's doing.
I've tried ODIN which seems to pick up the phone on COM4 so i downloaded the I9100XXKI3 file from this thread...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1449771
and clicked on start and it gets to zImage and just sits there, i'm not sure if it's doing anything but i left it for 30 minutes and nothing happened.
I've also tried OneClickUnbrick from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1153310
and that can't find the phone.
I can get into ODIN mode on the phone (I think that's recovery) by doing volume down, bottom button and power on.
Anyone got any ideas above what i'm trying?
I think i should be able to get hold of a jig/jtag cable beyond that no idea!
Fixed!
Downloaded the latest ODIN
Downloaded the GT-I9100_XEU_I9100XWKI4_I9100XEUKH2_I9100XXKI1.tar.md5
Plugged into my work PC which didn't have Kies and it also had a different USB cable (that might have mattered)
Swapped the battery for a fully charged one (the original was on 14%!!)
Phone was off and then plugged into the PC
Let the drivers install
Ran ODIN
ODIN picked up the phone (yellow box)
Only selected PDA and located the above tar.md5
clicked on start
*stuff happened*
got a progress bar on the phone
rebooted
it went into a recovery mode and cleared cache and some other stuff automatically.
rebooted
took about 5mins to boot up
bingo!
Hope this helps anyone else with the same problem.
Try different USB ports (must use a powered/mainboard port), different USB cables (particularly the cable that came with the phone), different versions of Odin (search for them), redownload the package you were trying to flash and test the package with 7Zip, IZarc, WinRar or similar to ensure there are no damaged files in it.
If those don't work, try another PC.
If you can get into download mode & Odin recognises the phone (yellow in COM panel), you can almost always save it.
Thanks MistahBungle.
Shall i forget using Kies then?
As this phone doesn't need to be rooted and do you think the data on the phone is gone now or if i manage to reflash something it was just upgrade what's there?
thing is i can't remember what version it was trying to upgrade to. i know it was on 2.3.5 which i think is XXKI3.
I seem to remember the battery was pretty low as well, can that cause a problem?
If u had ur phones drivers properly installed on ur pc, u can dl a program called Heimdall one click unbrick. Look up how 2 use it on YouTube. Works great with any Android device that gets the "phone-triangle-pc" screen.

Yeah Kies is rubbish. Bin it. Also, when you're using Odin, check Windoze task manager & make doubly absolutely 100000% sure that Kies & any of it's processes are not running. If they are, kill them. You need the drivers that come with Kies to use Odin, but Kies & Odin running at the same time does not work.
Unless the stock rom you flash specifically wipes, you might retain your data (I hope you made regular backups).
Yeah low battery could easily cause a flash to barf.

Thank you again!
Is there version of the stock firmware you know that won't wipe.
From what i can tell if i tick repartition and provide a pit file then this will dump everything so maybe if i can not apply those then in theory that won't wipe anything? i'm not sure if that's accurate logic.
I've downloaded this:
GT-I9100_XEU_I9100XWKI4_I9100XEUKH2_I9100XXKI1
and i'm downloading
I9100XXKI3.rar
I'm slightly worried about grabbing the right PIT file as i've seen people flash the one for a G version or plain 9100 on the wrong version and it's bricked the phone.
I know the one i'm trying to repair is just I9100 (that's what it says behind the battery and in ODIN mode).
I'm more of a Galaxy Nexus abuser so the the SGS2 stuff is new territory.
it also doesn't help that majority of stuff i've been finding used to be on some file sharing sites and they've either had the site shut down and panic'd and now only allowing downloads unless you own the account!
Do not tick repartition or touch anything to do with PIT !
Clear ? Good.
If you use firmware download from links on XDA there will be only one file which you flash in PDA section of Odin, no need to touch PIT. Ever.

You've saved me from divorce!
Now i just need to look at doing ICS... after i've fully charged the phone!
Hahaha Hmmmm. Is that a good or bad thing tho ?
So far as ICS is concerned, I've tried Miui V4 which is ****e & needs a lot of work. I tried CM9 about two weeks ago & it was fantastic considering how little they've had to work with, and I'm just about to try the 20 March build of CM9 now. Looking at the discussion thread, they've made a fair bit of progress since I tried it previously.
Obviously there are other ICS variants out there & quite a few stock ICS roms floating around. As always, do your homework/research first, make sure you fully understand whatever it is you're wanting to do to your phone, always check downloads (large ones anyways) to ensure they're not corrupt & you should be fine

Well i'll be going to a Stock ICS but as far as doing it with Kies that going in the digital bin (to put it politely)!
As the phone is an unbranded one (not fixed to a network) from what i've read there isn't a UK unbranded one yet, i was toying with the idea of doing I9100XXLPQ but i might let the dust settle depending on what i read throughout the day
I've read several threads about similar events, but none to match my problem.
I have this i777 from att, never rooted or flashed, just stock.
It started rebooting at logo screen (Samsung Galaxy SII logo).
I can get to "Download/Recovery mode" by using UP&DOWN+POWER.
Clearing Cache didn't fix it.
Now I'm afraid of doing the "Clear Data/Factory Reset" because I really need my data (and that's kind of the main purpose of this thread)
Can anyone help me a little?
I don't know much about, flashing, kernel and stuff but i can try if it's needed.
Thanks.
Make sure you are using the original battery. Some replacement batteries have what is called a "boot loop"

If your stock man, and havent done anything to the phone. Call at&t.
Or root it, and that'll most likely fix the mess that you got from samsung.
There is nothing to do if you dont want to do a reset.

If your phone wont boot, the files that are in the phone, are gone. can pull your sdcard out. but everything else is gone.
If I had issues, stock, before messing with anything. I'd send the phone back, or atleast talk to them, as we here, cant do anything for a stock system except advise a few things
But if that aint an option, start reading the stickies and guides in the Dev section.
Odds are you just need to clean it up with a wipe, never wiped a stock system before, not sure exactly what all it wipes. Hell, I've only ran a stock phone for maybe an hour before getting rid of the mess that providers leave you.

There could be several reasons for a stock phone to go into a bootloop like that. It could be a firmware problem or a hardware problem. There are two possible paths you could take. Normally, a wipe data/factory reset would be the recommended first step in troubleshooting the problem, so I'll start there. You would go into 3e recovery using the three button method and then select the "wipe data/factory reset" option.
When you do this, you will lose some things, and you will keep some things. Wipe data/factory reset does not touch USB storage, so you will keep all your files, photographs, data from applications that store their data on usb storage (some do, some don't). You will lose all installed applications and personal settings. You can back up a few things, most notably your contacts, and data from any application that has a backup facility in its settings. However, without root, you will lose quite a bit of stuff, like all text messages, etc. Since you are not rooted, you will not be able to back up your applications and data.
A second alternative would be to try to reinstall the stock firmware. Depending on which version of the stock firmware you have, you may be able to do this without losing any personal data, (in other words, without having to do a wipe data/factory reset.) You have to flash the same version that is currently on the phone. There are two versions of the stock firmware, the original 2.3.4 version UCKH7 and the later 2.3.6 version UCKK6. You need to know which one is on your phone first, and since the phone is bootlooping, you won't be able to look. So if you don't know, then you can use the best guess based on when the phone was purchased. If you decide to try this first, then I will be happy to help you figure out which one to flash. The basic instructions you will need are in the guide about returning the phone to the store or for warranty replacement which is linked in my signature.
Thank you so much, I'll go ahead and do the wipe/reset.. I only need photos.
And that guide is awesome, will stick to it for another i777 i have with the first ICS leak that is so buggy.
Thanks and I'll post if it works, get my pictures or if i need to go alternative.
Something went wrong while the wipe/reset process, now it won't get into down/recovery mode.. it appears it will but restarst again.
I'm on the alternative now, UCKK6 btw so i downloaded that package (rooted since i'm not coming to att). I'm using windows and going to check if I can interpret your guide in a way.
I don't recall seeing anyone post anything exactly like your issue. And I'm not sure what the problem is exactly. If you can get into download mode, you can try either the UCKK6 with root, or the UCKH7 with or without root. Instructions for going into download mode are in the guide. If you flash the UCKK6 with root, and the attempt to wipe data did nothing, then if it recovers, you may still have access to your personal data.
finally out of boot loop and working like a champ!
Installed Drivers (SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones.exe)
Used motherboard bound USB port
Up&Down+Cable = Odin Mode
Using Odin3-v1.85.zip
did (in PDA):
1.- uckk6_stock_rooted.tar
2.- SGH-I777_ClockworkMod-Recovery_5.0.2.3.tar
(using Volume Up&Down+Power after this one got rid of the "Deleting Cryption Meta Data", Then went into USB mass storage mode and recovered all my photos to secure them)
3.- Siyah-v2.6.14-att.tar
my phone now works, thinking maybe in another rom, any recomendations?
THANKS ALL whom took the time to reply their thoughts, creepyncrawly and all the file/guides creators!
Here's an ics rom. Perfect for me... no problems what so ever. Really fast. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1682027

I don't know of any solution other than replacing the micro USB port on your phone. It is, however, a fairly easy repair. No soldering required. Also, fairly inexpensive. You should do some research to find out the information you need, what board to buy, specific disassembly and reassembly instructions, etc.

Also, if ya don't wanna tackle the task urself, check out mobiletechvideos.com for the repair. $40, plus what u pay to ship it, etc.
Got my i777 micro usb port replaced by them at the first of this month. Well worth it. And mtv.com has been around a good while and are very reputable.

Okay. So now you can charge the battery in the phone, transfer files, and put the phone into download mode? (I think you called it the custom OS screen.) In other words, the USB port now works correctly? So now you need to use Odin to flash the stock firmware.
You didn't say what version of the operating system your phone is running. Since you posted in this old thread which has a title "My stock I777..." I assume you are on some version of stock. You should use Odin3 v1.85 (preferred) to flash the latest stock firmware distribution, which is I777UCMD8 which you can get from the download repository.
If you are unfamiliar with using Odin, here is a set of instructions.
How to use stand-alone Odin3 to flash firmware:
Follow and recheck each of the following steps. Do them in order listed, as some steps are dependent on previous steps. Instructions are for Odin3 v1.85. It should work with any version of Odin, but some details, like color of items, may be different.
1.) Open Odin on the Windows Desktop.
2.) Have the USB cable plugged into USB port on the computer, but *Not* plugged in to the phone.
3.) Shut the phone off.
4.) While holding down the vol+ & vol- keys, plug micro-usb plug into phone.
5.) In Odin, you should get the yellow box under where it says ID:COM with the text 0:[COMx], and in the Message area, <ID:0/00x> Added!! where x is some number, usually 1-8.
6.) In Odin, make sure Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time are checked and all other items are not checked.
7.) Click on the PDA button. Browse to the tar file you want to install and select it so its path appears in the text edit box next to the button.
8.) Make sure the check box next to the PDA button is checked.
9.) Click the Start button.
10.) You should see the green progress bar advancing.
11.) When complete, you will get a PASS (or FAIL if unsuccessful).
Im Confused

When you download the stock firmware distribution from the Download Repository, it will be compressed in a zip archive, 7zip actually, and you must extract the file from the archive with an archiving program such as 7zip. When you extract it, it will have the extension ... .tar.md5. This is what we refer to as the "tar file." It is actually a Linux "tape archive" which has also had an md5 sum attached to it. When you select this file in Odin, with the .tar.md5 extension, Odin will check the md5 sum to verify that the file is not corrupt, and then it will flash the contents of the .tar file to your phone.

Hey guys, new here (obviously). I'm also fairly new to flashing/rooting on Android in general.
I flashed my phone to one of the leaked ICS international versions (when I boot up my phone it says "Samsung Galaxy SII GT I9100" from Gingerbread. I did this a couple of days ago. There are a few problems main one being I can't use the phone app for my phone (ironic).
So since the ICS official version for the US AT&T phone came out, I was wondering.
How can I flash my phone to the stock ICS version? Any help would be great and I hope I did not post in the wrong section :\
Thanks so much in advance guys.
Download KIES, install the proper drivers, plug in your phone, update.
Although you probably messed up your phone flashing firmware for the wrong model....
BTW, you might want to at least make an attempt to read before making a thread. There is a thread already dedicated to upgrading your phone to the official AT&T Gingercream Sandwich update
At least pretend to look like you are genuinely interested. Or you know, follow the rules you agreed to upon signing up in the forums

Boot into download mode using the standard I777 method: with phone off, hold down vol+ & vol- while plugging in USB cable. Post back what the flash counter says.

I don't think the standard method is working. Just shows the battery on screen.
and in response to the kies reply; when I plug in the phone and sync it up with kies, kies says "Your device does not support firmware upgrade through kies" or something along those lines.
In response to the other guy, I'm terribly sorry, maybe you could help by posting a link to that thread? I tried looking around seeing if there was anything related to my issue and I couldn't find anything. Forgive my noob status?
Thanks guys.
I used the method that worked though. Held down power, vol down, and home..

looks like you need to read around and learn how to flash the secondary bootloader for UCKH7. It will change it back to the correct boot screen too. At least, that's what I think. I had to do it the other day after working on rooting the new LE5 stock.
Read the links in Creepy's signature.
To return your phone to I777 stock, flash the UCKH7 CL503881 stock binaries. The one-click downloader is the easiest. You will find the firmware in the Download Repository, link in my signature. This is the package that includes bootloaders and param.lfs.
Edit: I have been assuming you have the I777. This is true isn't it?
After you are at UCKH7 stock, you can use kies to update to stock ICS, or you can flash UCLE5 which is also in the Download Repository, at the bottom.
kk. I think what I'm gonna do is flash is completely back to stock gingerbread using one of his links and odin.
and plug it in through kies and see if that works to update it to ICS official.
Thanks guys! Sorry I caused such an uproar.
Thanks Creepy!! I will do just that
yes that is correct; I have the SGH-I777 At&t Samsung Galaxy S2.
It appears the one click exe that reverts my phone to stock software actually STOPS and "FAIL"s on the part where it's flashing the "cache."
My phone says "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again."
Fortunately when I went download mode the top right corner says SGH-I777
instead of the international version.
I've tried the one-click several times and it still does not work. :\
Any advice?
Edit: Kies is not recognizing my phone ; "device not responding"
thanks again.
Make sure you have the USB Debugging mode turned off. It took me a few minutes to figure that out when I was trying to upgrade from Gingerbread to ICS via Kies earlier.
Not sure what's hanging it up. From your report, it appears that the secondary bootloader was successfully flashed. Do you recall what other steps completed before the fail?
You should be able to boot into recovery by holding vol+, vol- and pwr. Hold down until you enter recovery. Then wipe data/factory reset. Then try to flash the UCKH7 stock package without bootloaders. The link is in the return to the store guide linked in my signature. Or flash one of the stock plus root packages.
Hey thanks Creepy!
I really hate using the one-clickers, had no luck with 'em :|
I'd much rather use the blank Odin 1.85 exe I have that lets you fill in the files.
If I use that and the ---Return/Unbrick to Stock + Root: I777_UCKH7_OCD_Root_No_BL.7z (This contains the kernel, rooted system image, and modem.)--- download, what do I use for the bootloader slot or do I leave that empty?
thanks

That's a one-click downloader. If you want to flash the full package, there is a tar.md5 file in the Download Repository with everything in it, but it's all in one package, including the bootloaders, so you put it in the pda slot and it's the only file you flash.
In the Download Repository, there are also tars for Entropy512's packages which you can flash in Odin3. They are also one file tars and go in the pda slot. You can read about each one.
I'm not sure you need to flash the bootloaders again. I'd try to wipe data/factory reset and then flash a stock package without bootloaders first.
Applied the one-click with root Flash and now I'm back to gingerbread.
gonna see if I can get ICS working through kies..
looking good!!!
So my phone won't open.
I keep clicking the android but it keeps saying the google services framework has crashed.
and it won't connect to kies..
any ideas?

Since ur rooted why not just flash the rom in cwm? The official release is found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1650948

I guess you just drop that file onto the phone using file explorer and USB connection,
then go into recovery to update via cwm?

I'm trying to return to stock on my Verizon Note 2. I'm currently on AOKP 4.2.2 and have TWRP. I tried to use the Odin method shown by Adam but my phone is not being seen via USB. I've tried to uninstall all drivers and reinstall. Tried again by using Kies as suggested by many.
Can I return to stock just by using TWRP? Are there steps or a walk through on how to do this? Links? I'm thinking I could go into TWRP, wipe the cache, delvik cache, and then factory reset. Then install, "flash" a update.zip and return to stock. Would this work or get stuck?
Also, not sure where to get the update.zip I'd need. I have the OTA stock downloaded from Adam tutorial...not the "alternate" but it's only one file. Would I just zip that, rename to update.zip and try to flash?
Please help!! Again I'm unable to do this through usb plug in so I really need another route.
Thank you in advance for any help!
Do not try renaming the file and flashing. Nothing good will come of that.

I read through that one too. Tried all of that. ODIN will not work. My phone is not being detected through USB. Again i've tried all the reinstalls of the drivers etc.... Tried different original cords. nothing.
I need a way to return to stock through my device. Maybe load to the external sd and flash. Can this be done?
Not sure what file to flash though.
If odin isn't seeing your phone then something isnt installed properly. Probably drivers. Im not too sure about it because the only time I used odin was when I first rooted and I haven't touched it since.
The only option I have heard of for doing it from the phone is mobile odin. I dont know much about it, never tried it. Here's the link for it

Are u sure usb debugging is on?, or try going back to a tw rom before using odin, i also read that kies has to be removed from comuter, and phone before trying this, i had problem originally, manually installed drivers, and went to device manager and checked operation, you also have to be in odin mode on phone( power, home, down at same time, as that way it is in download mode.

Tried all of this as well. I installed kies and tried that route as some were saying the drivers may work through that method. They didn't so I tried uninstalling. I was in DL "odin" mode when trying to run odin also.

My phone was a trade off for a iPhone 5.. Best move ever but the last owner had somewhat messed up the phone modding it. I did a full wipe and the previous owner had never done any backups. I wanted to start fresh. All that being said I wanted to start back fresh at stock and then do any modding that I preferred from a new state.
I just flashed MeanBean after reading back through the posts to my question. I realized I had not tried using odin while on a TW based ROM.
I'll see if this helps.

I too am having issues with my Note II not being recognized by Odin on my PC. I know my drivers are installed and I have a good connection with my USB cable/port since when I plug in my phone when powered on, I can see the phone and card just fine. However, when going into Download mode and running Odin 3.07, Odin isn't seeing my phone.
I discovered this while looking into another situation from another thread. While I'm not currently attempting to return to stock and aren't overly concerned about returning to stock since I could probably do it with Mobile Odin if push comes to shove. I am concerned, however, that if I'm unable to use MO and my phone isn't being recognized by Odin from my PC then I might be up the proverbial creek with a paddle.

Glad it worked. And as an added bonus now I know if I do ever have problems and dont feel like spending the time to figure it out, I can just use mobile odin.
