Hi All!
Could somebody help me please to find out if TIHIS (or any other) call recorder app works on Droid RAZR?
I'm planning to buy this device but first I have to know if two way call recording is possible.
If the application linked above is not working please recommend another
Thank you all for your help!
Wish I could help you out but don't want to invest in an app I don't really need to test it out.

Sorry Oaklands, it is my fault, that I didn't link skvalex's thread, because as far as I know, there is a TRIAL VERSION of it, so you could try it for me.
Thanks a lot!!!
I just tried it and it did not work for me. When I changed from the kernel version to the other setting it would force close. Super user came up ok but nothing was saved as recorded when i went back into the program.

Thank you so much!
That means I have to wait till there will be a kernel patch for this issue.
I've attached build with Motorola RAZR support, I don't own this phone, so please check it.
Select device in the preferences and install ALSA. The phone must be rooted.
Also, this build may work on:
- Motorola RAZR
- Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100G
- Motorola DROID 3
- Motorola DROID 4
- Motorola DROID BIONIC
- Motorola Milestone 3
- Motorola ATRIX 2
Device in preferences must be Motorola RAZR for all these phones.
P.S. If trial period is ended - remove this version and install latest from here.
Thanks a lot!
I'm not able to test it, because I don't have this phone. I was only wanted to know, if it would work on it if I buy one.
But I hope, you'll get feedbacks from users who have it.
Just had my friend try it on his ics .84 razrmaxx and so far it seems to work well
Tested on my RAZR xt912 with the first ICS leak from April, and out works fine on the alsa setting.

What I must do to make this work? I got rooted XT910, Android 2.3.6
I got ALSA and Call Recorder installed, but it's not saving audio files from my calls.
Which option i must choose in ALSA?
are both sides of the conversation being recorded?

hi everyone -- just about to order a razr maxx and wanted to know if call recorder by skvalex along with alsa are able to record both sides of a conversation.
there is some confusion with people stating that it only records your voice and not the other end of the conversation.
can someone please confirm what the truth is? and is it truly recording with appropriate clarity and volume (loudness)?
also, does it record appropriately over bluetooth headset as well?
not working on droid razr
i installed and tried it, but it didn't record anything. i also installed alsa, but it just gives me a long list of settings that i don't understand. which settings should i choose ?
I believe busybox needs to be installed under the xbin location for this to work as alsamixer is dependent upon that.

Have you found an answer for this? I am in the same boat, with a Razr MAXX, CallRecorder and AlsaMixer, not sure which to try. Does anyone have CallRecorder working to record both sides of the conversation on a Razr MAXX? I have a legal reason to do so - recorded calls for work, for quality and training purposes, and the employees have signed releases.
What are the proper known working settings for a Droid Razr/Maxx? I have been trying to get it working with no success. I live in a one party consent state and I do have a valid need to make recordings of some of my calls. I would like to know what the settings are so I can do this. I am currently running ICS. THe app appears to install just fine. The service comes up BUT it doesn't record.
From what I've been reading and the experience I've had with trying various solutions on my Razr MAXX, the hardware itself does not support recording the other party. Someone in the reviews on CallRecorder by skvalex said it works on his Razr (not sure if it's the MAXX), but I couldn't get it to work. I'm eager for answers about this! :good:

The MAXX and the Razr are functionally similar in hardware minus the battery apparently so what works on one should work on the other no problem. I have been looking for anyone who got this working on ICS or any rom for that matter on the razr or maxx. I used the Bionic as the template profile but I dont think that is working either.

I'll take a look at that. In fact we have a China stock rom's where call recording works, I hope that functionality is available in other kernel's too (EMEA for example)

I think your friend merely confirmed that it installed. I installed alsa and call recorder on my ics rooted razr maxx. The recorder runs and creates files, but there's no sound. I do have it set to use alsa and have tried changing numerous alsa settings. I think this comes back to the need for a kernel that enables call recording.

Guys, I know people are having trouble with Skype on Atrix where the microphone sound is distorted and extremely noisy. I have figured that this is not limited to Skype but all VOIP apps! May I know any fix or if Motorola will have the software fix for that?
Please I really need to use Skype everyday because my family are oversea.

No its not working. It's been discussed in Motorola forum but I just want more people to know before buying Attic and see will there be quick fix from this community.
Maybe this will help.. http://www.droidforums.net/forum/xeudoxus/78843-apks-unlocked-apps.html
It is an "unlocked" version of Skype, I think originally for Verizon. With this unlocked apk you can also place calls on 3G. Others have reported this working on the Atrix. I have it on mine but being new to Skype I have not yet tried it properly. You do not need root but since att blocks non-market apps you will need to "sideload" it. I prefer Android Centrals Sideload Wonder Machine: http://www.androidcentral.com/sideload-android-apps-all-you-want-sideload-wonder-machine

This is another huge reason I don't like about Android's fragmentation.
It seems like Qik is the only app that supports VOIP correctly. But most of my contacts are skype and Google. Gosh...

Fring updated their app to support the Atrix! The update is not yet on the market, but you can get it by following the links.. Heres the story: http://www.androidcentral.com/fring-updates-video-calling-app-support-moto-atrix-and-dell-streak
Let us know how it works I haven't had time to test it.
Does anyone know how to solve this problem in voip atrix? I tested with SBF Retail in Brazil and to the SBF operator course .... and pick out the same problem occurs. I used to test a wifi 10MB.
Regards,
I tried to use Skype last night and I wasn't able to make a video call. The camera button was there, but it had a red line through it and wouldn't let me select it. This was my first try with Skype so I'm not sure if I'm missing something. I had "enable video calls" selected in the settings. Is this an issue with it not supporting out displays....like it is with several other apps?
I can't get even Skype working on this phone.
I try to sign in and it just refreshes the application.
Sent from my HTC DROID DNA.
I had no video issues at first. I just played around with switching cameras and it finally worked. Now it works from the start.

I had the same problem. I use an older version and everything works fine including video calling.
I'll check that out.

There is a modded version of Skype in the XDA Apps and Games section (I am mobile so I can't paste the link). It's the latest version of Skype but the dev has modded it to force enable video calling and a bunch of other excellent features. I am using it on my x920e and have used if for video calling. I've only used it over Wifi but it's supposed to work with 3G as well. Try it out and see if it works. If it doesn't then perhaps VZW has done something to block it.
Skype video works
On my DNA, the video works fine... got a video call from my buddy in Budapest. I was on 4G, no issues.

Are you running a ROM or are you stock? I was on CODIS when I was trying to get it working. I have since switched to rooted stock and deleted a bunch of stuff on my own. I haven't given it a try on this yet. If it doens't work, I'll try out the XDA one that was mentioned above.

Are you stock or rooted? Yesterday I took another Skype video call from Austria, worked fine on my stock device. I was able to take screen shots too while on the video call. It was 30 minutes long and the DNA did suck up some battery and it got warm, but no problems.
Rooted stock here with qubed stock kernel. Skyoe working fine for me
I am running a Droid Razr Maxx CDMA (XT912).
I have Jellybean 4.2.2.
I have Cyanogenmod 10.1 installed as my custom ROM.
I installed BusyBox first, then Alsa Mixer. I want to use Call Recorder by skvalex. I can't find the free version on the PlayStore.
I am not a fan of downloading apps from anywhere else but there.
Can anyone tell me if these two programs that I installed will allow me to use the Call Recorder app
without any problems before I spend the money to purchase this app?
I know I can always get a refund but I figured that I would come here first to ask.
Any help would greatly be appreciated and I will click the thanks button for anyone who replies to this post.
I installed the call recorder app by skvalex.
It only records for the first four seconds and then stops.
There is no recorded file saved.
Any suggestions?

same problem here.... in my xt910
it records ZERO seconds
using 4.1.2 Jellybean
982.124.14.xt910.retail.en.eu
***please help***
same here with JB 4.2.2 XT910
It used to work for me with ICS 4.0.4 and apparently now it shows a red icon on the status bar instead of orange one.
And the message is something like error recording failed.
I contacted the developer on his email, he is a nice guy, I sent him the logs, may be he'll find something.
Anyone know if the S4 can record both sides of a call? On my incredible 2 with the cyanogen mod kernel I could do it with CallRecorder from the play store? Can the stock kernel do it? Our is there a mod for it? Thanks

yes, but it will be very faint. If you have something to boost the volume, you can still hear it. I use speaker cause it's louder, but I was on the phone and someone had said they can talk if they was on speaker. I took them off then went back and could still here the conversation.

Same question. Verizon S4 sch-i545, rooted, stock ROM. I had to keep my s3 on ICS to keep call recording going, desperately seeking a solution for my s4.
Speakerphone recording is not really a viable option for me (certainly it's not desirable).
On my s3 (ICS) I used KillerMobile's paid Total Recall app, and it worked beautifully and effortlessly. On s4 (Jellybean) no combination of settings with Total Recall work with non-speakerphone recording. In fact methods A, B, C, and D don't work at all - and method D generates such large logfiles that I have to kill the app, and delete the log (it was 7gb at one point!).
Update: Total Recall is working with Cyanogenmod 10.1 (10.1-20130614-NIGHTLY-jfltevzw to be exact) on my rooted S4. No other custom ROMs that I tried worked, however.
Tried: Jelly Beans, Synergy, and Hyperdrive. Have *not* tried Paranoid Android yet. With Cyanogenmod working with it, I think I'll just leave it the hell alone for a bit..
Hi Lazarus, make sure you have the latest TR build installed, we fixed this Logfile issue recently (it's only an issue with Strategy D on S4's).
Have you tried the app with the release version of CM10.1 vs the nightly you reference?
Thanks for the feedback and don't hesitate to contact us directly.

Hi there Total Recall Users,
Before reverting to older ROMS try this first:
I got this working and this is my interpretation of the recording problem:
I also use CM 10.1's latest nightly and struggled to get it working. I noticed that Total Recorder does not prompt for Super User Access when the program i.e. wants to install Strategy D and fails.
I think this is a CM 10.1 error. I installed SuperSU (there's a free version on Gplay). Run this and select install from the settings menu. It will prompt you to reboot immediately after the program closes. Reboot and be QUICK to click Grant Access to SuperSU (else it will get blocked) and it replaces the CM 10.1 SU features.
When running Total Recall again, and selecting Strategy D for Galaxy III SuperSU pops up requesting SU status, grant it, and installs OK.
Recording operational....
I cannot confirm if this is a CM bug
Good luck.
Total Recorder only works with speaker phone on S4 running CleanRom 1.5.
Also, the directory picker function is buggy.
hi , Motorola has a daydream app called droid dream.. I just got rid of my droid maxx and I loved that app (more of a theme)here is a link to it
http://www.behance.net/gallery/Droid-Dream/10287859
My question is... is it possible to get this on the HTc ONE MAX? and could someone do it?
DROID Dream is a screensaver like experience that is currently available on the 2013 DROID Ultra and Maxx smartphones by Motorola. This feature allows users to see time, date, and recent notifications while the phone is docked or being charged. The information block simply shifts up and down slowly over any type of wallpaper. This project was done as part of an internship with Motorola Mobility in Chicago
a quick google search shows only malware named droid dream!!! oops!
yes I know , that's why I came here to find out if anyone can do it.

okay I will but it sounds redondent
I used an app called "APK Extractor" to grab the Droid Dream APK off of my Droid Maxx XT1080. I have installed it on my Droid Turbo XT1254 but not sure if it works as expected... yet. Hopefully it will! Use attached at your own risk.
UPDATE --- It works but it doesn't display the notifications like it did on the XT1080. Not sure if I am missing another piece of the puzzle. Anybody know?
The Max has a "dream" setting under the Display tab of the Settings. It doesn't show your messages but you can see the date and time. CM has a built-in feature that allows you to get a Quick Glance by hovering over the infrared sensor. You might want to try out CM and see if that's something that'll work for ya!
i know longer have a htc one max anymore but to keep on the subject, i installed that apk on my droid turbo and it works like you said, no notifications, so i looked a little further and dont really know if this helps but, if you into setting/security and lock screen/ there is something called notification access, and that seems to be the program giving permissions for notifications to other apps, my lucid dreams was in there and had permissions but i dont know how to add an app to it.
