Droid Dream .. daydream app - HTC One Max

hi , Motorola has a daydream app called droid dream.. I just got rid of my droid maxx and I loved that app (more of a theme)here is a link to it
http://www.behance.net/gallery/Droid-Dream/10287859
My question is... is it possible to get this on the HTc ONE MAX? and could someone do it?
DROID Dream is a screensaver like experience that is currently available on the 2013 DROID Ultra and Maxx smartphones by Motorola. This feature allows users to see time, date, and recent notifications while the phone is docked or being charged. The information block simply shifts up and down slowly over any type of wallpaper. This project was done as part of an internship with Motorola Mobility in Chicago

a quick google search shows only malware named droid dream!!! oops!

yes I know , that's why I came here to find out if anyone can do it.

okay I will but it sounds redondent

I used an app called "APK Extractor" to grab the Droid Dream APK off of my Droid Maxx XT1080. I have installed it on my Droid Turbo XT1254 but not sure if it works as expected... yet. Hopefully it will! Use attached at your own risk.
UPDATE --- It works but it doesn't display the notifications like it did on the XT1080. Not sure if I am missing another piece of the puzzle. Anybody know?

The Max has a "dream" setting under the Display tab of the Settings. It doesn't show your messages but you can see the date and time. CM has a built-in feature that allows you to get a Quick Glance by hovering over the infrared sensor. You might want to try out CM and see if that's something that'll work for ya!

i know longer have a htc one max anymore but to keep on the subject, i installed that apk on my droid turbo and it works like you said, no notifications, so i looked a little further and dont really know if this helps but, if you into setting/security and lock screen/ there is something called notification access, and that seems to be the program giving permissions for notifications to other apps, my lucid dreams was in there and had permissions but i dont know how to add an app to it.

[Q] Using stock android apps

Is there anyway to use the stock (or even the cyanogen modded) stock apps on the DroidX2. I've already tried copying them over to system/app and correcting permissions and even with a reboot, they don't show up.
Does anyone have any suggestions? In particular the stock sms/mms app and the stock calendar application.
Thanks so much
Marshall
the motoblur framework is what ****s it all up
Can't wait to get rid of that crap framework with a custom rom.
I really want custom roms... Like yesterday. Lol
Sent from my DROID X2
We all want custom roms, it be nice, but we need an unlocked bootloader and i have yet to hear of anyone actively working on one for the DX2, so for now we are stuck ..
god i miss my Nexus S
I'm sure once we see an OTA update, we'll have a better chance at unlocking the bastage. At least we have a leaked SBF file to help with those who have bricked. There's more incentive to hacking.
I just downloaded the extended version of the mms app from
http://www.droid-life.com/2010/04/15/download-new-mms-apk-with-custom-settings/
So far, it seems to work other then force closing when trying to change the font size... Hopefully It'll keep on working. It isn't the latest version that comes with cyano 7 but it'll do.
Next is trying to get the extended setting version of the dialer. I think thats going to be much harder to do
Note - The messaging app does work, but it force closes everytime you send a message out, although it does send the message out. DAMN BLUR!
I use a sms/MMS app that I took from a custom ROM about a year ago. I can't stand the MOTOBLUR sms/mms app, and this one looms more like the OG Droid app.

Hi, can you explain how you did that? I tried the one off of the current cyanogenmod 7 and it didn't work, and I tried a much earlier version I found on here, but it would force close after each message it sent.
The good news is that it looks like someone has gotten a custom recovery put on their x2 so developer progress is moving forward.

Which stock apps were you referring to ? You should be able to install to /system as long as you change the package name.

I had initially installed the program from my SD card, and that worked fine for the most part. It wasn't until about a week or so ago that it started giving me problems. I finally figured out to actually copy my MMS.apk to the system/app folder and then set the permissions to rw-r-r and then rebooted. This has worked for my X² and my husband's X and now both phones are working beautifully. I used Titanium Backup Pro to freeze the stock Text Messaging so that I don't get duplicate messages.

I got the android default dock app, and the extended messaging app working by taking it from cyanogenmod 6.something
The name of the blur text messaging app is called conversations.apk (took me forever to figure that out... ****ing motorola)
I"m debating about replacing the car dock application.... there are some nice things in the blur version.
What about the default Android Market app??? Has anybody tried that?? I don't want to have to see the verizon crap in my market.... I will try and pull it from a CM rom I have from back in the day, I think its 6 also... and give it a try but any help to point me in the right direction to make this work would be nice...

These worked good on my EVO but no dice on the Photon. Suggestions?

Unlock with Wifi won't work if you're using something like Juice Defender or any app that turns wifi off because UWW needs wifi to remain on.
Cant answer your 2nd app.

Yea....read through the FAQ already. I don't have anything like that on my phone as far as I know unless it is something that came stock on it (I did notice there was some kind of task manager on there).
Do you have it working on your phone?

*Update* Been working with the dev for Dual Mount SD and there might be an update to fix it this week. Also, I may have fixed the issue with Unlock for Wifi. Need more time to test it though.

I can't get Custom Android Font Changer to apply the font change...anyone else try this app yet with their photon? Maybe I need to run the root script again?
EDIT: Root check told me I had busybox, but I didn't. Installed busybox and it now works great!

I'm set on performance but it doesn't make a difference. Believe that is mostly for sync settings anyways.
There is a bit of a debate about whether root for the Photon is actually 100%. App devs are saying no and rom devs are saying yes.
All I know is some of my favorite root apps used on my ogEVO I cannot use on the Photon which is a real bummer. If anyone could figure out why that would be awesome.
A couple of the apps I would like to use: Unlock for WiFi & Dual Mount USB
In regards to Dual Mount USB by Protocol-X, seems the directories it needs access to exist but cannot be written to for some reason even though in Root Explorer I have set proper permissions. Other rooted phones don't have this issue and I would like to know why.
Anyone have insight into any of this??

[Q] Two-way call recording on Doird RAZR

Hi All!
Could somebody help me please to find out if TIHIS (or any other) call recorder app works on Droid RAZR?
I'm planning to buy this device but first I have to know if two way call recording is possible.
If the application linked above is not working please recommend another
Thank you all for your help!
Wish I could help you out but don't want to invest in an app I don't really need to test it out.

Sorry Oaklands, it is my fault, that I didn't link skvalex's thread, because as far as I know, there is a TRIAL VERSION of it, so you could try it for me.
Thanks a lot!!!
I just tried it and it did not work for me. When I changed from the kernel version to the other setting it would force close. Super user came up ok but nothing was saved as recorded when i went back into the program.

That means I have to wait till there will be a kernel patch for this issue.
I've attached build with Motorola RAZR support, I don't own this phone, so please check it.
Select device in the preferences and install ALSA. The phone must be rooted.
Also, this build may work on:
- Motorola RAZR
- Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100G
- Motorola DROID 3
- Motorola DROID 4
- Motorola DROID BIONIC
- Motorola Milestone 3
- Motorola ATRIX 2
Device in preferences must be Motorola RAZR for all these phones.
P.S. If trial period is ended - remove this version and install latest from here.
Thanks a lot!
I'm not able to test it, because I don't have this phone. I was only wanted to know, if it would work on it if I buy one.
But I hope, you'll get feedbacks from users who have it.
Just had my friend try it on his ics .84 razrmaxx and so far it seems to work well
Tested on my RAZR xt912 with the first ICS leak from April, and out works fine on the alsa setting.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using xda premium
What I must do to make this work? I got rooted XT910, Android 2.3.6
I got ALSA and Call Recorder installed, but it's not saving audio files from my calls.
Which option i must choose in ALSA?
are both sides of the conversation being recorded?

hi everyone -- just about to order a razr maxx and wanted to know if call recorder by skvalex along with alsa are able to record both sides of a conversation.
there is some confusion with people stating that it only records your voice and not the other end of the conversation.
can someone please confirm what the truth is? and is it truly recording with appropriate clarity and volume (loudness)?
also, does it record appropriately over bluetooth headset as well?
not working on droid razr
i installed and tried it, but it didn't record anything. i also installed alsa, but it just gives me a long list of settings that i don't understand. which settings should i choose ?
I believe busybox needs to be installed under the xbin location for this to work as alsamixer is dependent upon that.

Have you found an answer for this? I am in the same boat, with a Razr MAXX, CallRecorder and AlsaMixer, not sure which to try. Does anyone have CallRecorder working to record both sides of the conversation on a Razr MAXX? I have a legal reason to do so - recorded calls for work, for quality and training purposes, and the employees have signed releases.
What are the proper known working settings for a Droid Razr/Maxx? I have been trying to get it working with no success. I live in a one party consent state and I do have a valid need to make recordings of some of my calls. I would like to know what the settings are so I can do this. I am currently running ICS. THe app appears to install just fine. The service comes up BUT it doesn't record.
From what I've been reading and the experience I've had with trying various solutions on my Razr MAXX, the hardware itself does not support recording the other party. Someone in the reviews on CallRecorder by skvalex said it works on his Razr (not sure if it's the MAXX), but I couldn't get it to work. I'm eager for answers about this! :good:

The MAXX and the Razr are functionally similar in hardware minus the battery apparently so what works on one should work on the other no problem. I have been looking for anyone who got this working on ICS or any rom for that matter on the razr or maxx. I used the Bionic as the template profile but I dont think that is working either.

I'll take a look at that. In fact we have a China stock rom's where call recording works, I hope that functionality is available in other kernel's too (EMEA for example)

I think your friend merely confirmed that it installed. I installed alsa and call recorder on my ics rooted razr maxx. The recorder runs and creates files, but there's no sound. I do have it set to use alsa and have tried changing numerous alsa settings. I think this comes back to the need for a kernel that enables call recording.

[Q] Blocked URLs/Domains?

I have a Moto Droid X2 using GB 2.3.5 and Eclipse 2.2.1 ROM with Verizon Wireless in the USA. For the life of me I cannot figure this one out...
When I receive emails from EastBay.com or HomeRunMonkey.com they generally display correctly on my X2. However they also sends advertisement emails and both use a 3rd-party company, mybuys.com. Whenever I receive emails that are advertisements, the images are blocked. I checked Google and MyVerizon and nothing is showing as being blocked. So, if I try to click the link in the email that says if you cannot see the images, click here, my native browser opens but it errors out as if I have no active internet connection. I've even tried Opera Browser and the URL still fails. If I try to open the same email message on my PC using Gmail or on my HP TouchPad, the email displays correctly and the URL also works in all browsers. The best I can determine is Verizon Wireless is blocking this company. I'm guessing this because if I tether my TouchPad to my X2 using FoxFi then the same negative results occur - I cannot see the images in the email or browse to the URL in any browser.
Can someone with a Droid X2 on VZW please try the URLs below and let me know if it works?
http://w.p.mybuys.com/mfs/EASTBAY/201207022309/4662402/46624026764.html
http://w.p.mybuys.com/mfs/HOMERUNMONKEY/201207032150/4664783/46647836937.html
I have no idea what else I can try other than calling VZW but I'm apprehensive to do so in fear they tell me to go to a store and when I get there they see my Rooted and Eclipse ROM'd X2 and refuse to help me.
Any suggestions at all are most welcome.
Thanks!
P.S. I did make sure in Gmail the sender is always set to display images, also added their email address to my address book, made sure there were no filters, etc., but I seriously doubt Gmail is the issue.
So I just forwarded the email to my work account and on my work laptop everything displays correctly but if I view the same work email on my Droid X2, I still cannot see any images. I have to conclude either something on the phone itself is the issue or it is VZW blocking access to the site that supplies the external images.

Ok, sorry to be a PitA - they opened on your phone in the native browser? Yes, both sites are sporting goods and sporting apparel. And just to confirm, are you on Verizon Wireless and are you rooted/custom ROM or totally stock? I'm trying to see if the Eclipse ROM in any was has bearing on this and want to rule it out if possible. Thanks.
UGH! My VZW Blocking theory is starting to crumble...
I just tested those links on a Droid X (I know it's not an X2) and the emails from my gmail account and the website links all worked perfectly. That Droid X is on VZW, same region as me, but is unrooted and on the stock ROM. I'm now wondering if Eclipse might be the issue. I guess I need to get Nitro involved for some help...

I would agree that eclipse is the problem. I was on stock cause I couldn't get the download for cm9 alpha 4 to work. I went to eclipse about an hour ago and tried those links again and they immediately go to failed load page. Before they did just open in my native browser

No problem homie
first time I ever heard any one complaining their adverts are blocked, lol.
So, you are upset because (you are assuming) the rom is blocking spam/advertsing?
If I could block every single ad I would, I cant get enough of ad-block.
Gl hope you get what you want working working though.
I know it sounds crazy and generally I agree with you but in this case they are legit ads that I read to keep up on deals for my son who plays baseball. It just so happens I discovered something in the ROM was preventing me from accessing the URLs.

what was it?
please post up what ya found!
I emailed nitro to look into it. But so far ive determined with help from others is Verizon is not blocking anything and a stock droud x or x2 CAN access the URLs but the Eclipse ROM for the X2 cannot. Whatever is the root cause I do not know so that is why I emailed nitro. I even determined that while my hp Touchpad CAN see the images in gmail and access the URLs from any browser the minute I Tether it to my X2 images in gmail wont load and the urls fail in any browser. The x2 fails whether 3g or wifi.

MotoCast Solution for RAZR MAXX/ RAZR MAXX HD?

Hi, I've seen some other folks posting that they've got this (installing MotoCast on a Droid RAZR MAXX HD) working for them, but I cannot get any answers. I've downloaded the MotoCast.apk, made sure my phone was set to allow installation of non-market sources, and it just wont install. I've included a few screenshots so you can see what Im trying to do, in this particular order, to get MotoCast installed. On a side note, my phone is NOT rooted. Does it have to be rooted in order for this to work? I'd surely appreciate anyone who can give me some direction here. Thanks

I was the one who uploaded the motocast APK in the other thread. I wanted to confirm that you DO NOT have to be rooted, I was able to install the app just like any other normal app.... did not need to move it to the system director or anything, just downloaded the apk and installed it.
Not sure why you are having a problem, I'll keep thinking, let you know if I come up with something.
