Hello,
i have a problem with my wifi.
i 've just put version 2.3.7 and my wifi doesnt show me
the available networks.i cant find any solutions.
please help!
im facing a similar case which the wifi signal disappear after 24hours i install/recover back to the normal state.
i set a backup point just before everything went wrong, and whenever the wifi signal disappear after 24hours, il go back to CWM and recover the previous state again and again.
initially i can go online with wifi, signal detection is ok. after 24hours, the signal disappear and i cannot detect any wifi anymore. restarting the unit, clearing cache does not cure. i even tried the method given by SpitFire-ZX this, yet the is no option for selecting NO and YES in step (6). the system jump directly to a reboot and log in like usual.
anyone?
Reinstall the rom, with wiping data/factory reset, and wiping dalvik cache.

Yes, install miniCM7 from zero
I think your router may be involved here..Because the given ip usually expires in 24 hours,
I had the same problem with all, and i mean ALL 2.3.7 roms
Whats worse, my wifi would disconnect every 20~30 secs. : /
So then i reserved an IP for my mobile onto my router..and viola! wroks pufect!!
Do check out how to reserve your phone onto your router, I strongly think that maybe your problem!!

Flashing to stock HTC ROM is not the same as Wipe. You wipe it in recovery

Yes, I think. I did recovery wipe and flashed VR1.5
Maybe something just went wrong with the install?
... try a full wipe and fresh flash, should fix it

1. If you mean that when you turn off WiFi you have no 3G for a minute or two - that is completely normal for android as it disables 3G whilst WiFi is enabled. It takes a little while to connect sometimes. If you mean the signal levels to your service provider - that's completely different and a very odd issue to say the least.
2. Slow with FC's usually means something in the wipe didn't work properly or some apps are conflicting. Try a fresh install (without backups if possible) and see if they carry on happening. Then try restoring the backups (after say a week or so) and see if it comes back.
Alot of this is trial and error. We have no idea how your phone is set up and which apps you have installed etc.
I will say that it is not usual to see either of these issues and a wipe and reflash has the best likelyhood of fixing the problems.
Hi,
My phone prompts me to update my MotoBlur version to GingerBread and I clicked yes.But I didn't notice that it requires a Wi-Fi connection.and now there is this icon in my notification bar trying to update my System.
As I'm not having a Wi-Fi connection I tried downloading the package to my PC and putting it to my SD card.but it still says that 'An update is currently being downloaded' though it's not.
So what I want to do is to stop that ongoing system update and try the other way around.if anyone knows how to stop it please let me know ...
Thanx !
You have to finish the download on WiFi for it to go away. Or you could try wiping Dalvik and cache and doing factory reset. That might work.

That's what I'm not capable of doing.I'm not in a Wi-Fi coverage area.so It's not possible to download it via Wi-Fi.is there any alternative way ?

If you have CWM try booting into CWM and clearing Dalvik, cache, and data. This might reset the update process.

What did you do to solve the problem?
May help others.
I unfortunately made the same mistake of not being connected to a wifi network before starting the download; I managed to connect to the wifi network at the local library but now I have no notification of the download but when I go to start it again it says it's already downloading and will notify me when it's complete; this has been going on for over an hour now.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Did you stay on WiFi the whole time while it downloaded?
Also, how fast is the WiFi at your library?

I'm STILL on the wifi at the library, and I don't think it's a very fast connection. I went to the Motorola site and downloaded the upgrade to my PC and now it's transferring over to my phone with a staggering 12% finished after about an hour. . .
After sometime my cell phone is rebooting all times.
If it goes idle and I press the button to wake it, it reboots.
I've used some custom roms including CM7.
After I restored to my original firmware which is Claro Brazil, it keeps rebooting all time .
Anyone know what can I do? I even sent it to motorola and they don't do a thing. All they say is that it don't have any defect .
Thank you
Jayson
Did it start rebooting after you after you restored to the original firmware,
or did you restore to the original firmware to try to fix the reboots?:

I've flashed that build of ICS of dev thread and it seems to be rebooting less times.
How did you flash the rom?
Are you using romracers recovery?
Did you do a full wipe before flashing the rom?
You might make sure you have romracers latest recovery,
and then run this script for a full wipe:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1421261&highlight=moto-fastboot+script
and then load a new rom and see if that fixes it.
You can also flash the Kernel and the radio too.

First I installed IHOP_Bell.sbf with sbf_flash to be able to unlock with moto-fastboot. After that did install CWM.
All my roms are installed with CWM with its cache/data and stuff wipe.
How can I know the right kernel and radio for me?
Same for me. I think this is a radio issue, where can we find lastest radio? Do we need to flash it like rom via RR CWM?
Thanks.
I get random reboots all the time. I was thinking it was a problem with wireless or bluetooth... Last time it rebooted was this morning, I docked it before going to bed, and 5 minutes later i hear the double-ding of it mounting internal storage at boot. At the time it wasn't running anything but the dock-widget clock.
I've had it reboot while on the bus listening to music with the phone in my pocket, I've had it reboot while docked and sitting idle, but youtube and flash are the real killers while actually using the phone, for me at least.
I find it reboots less if I leave wireless and bluetooth off, but what is the good in that?
I've had the random reboots probably since I upgraded to gingerbread, but even moreso after Bell 2.3.6 OTA.
I wonder if there is a way to prevent it from rebooting, so we can see what actually causes it to spontaneously reboot.
Im getting random reboots too, but figured it was from the build of CM7 i'm running (23-Nov. Was thinking of doing a full wipe then reload sometime this week. will report my results.
Hi!
Same thing happened to me. What I did was, I flashed to a different radio for it to be fixed. The stock doesn't seem to work on mine and I can't have signal reception.

I've already did it without success.
Now I'm trying this new Radio:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1175750
N_01.100.00R
because I'm pretty sure it is a Radio issue.
I previously had N_01.95.00R wich seems to be an Asian Radio that probably (hopefully) doesn't work properly here.
I will tell you if it will fix the problem.
Hi there,
I also have random reboots on my Atrix.
Till now, I tried to change rom, recovery, reset data factory, use no apps, etc. But it never worked, and the reboots are still happening without any logical explanation.
I'm also thinking about a Radio problem, mine is : N_01.100.00R
I'll try changing it this evening, maybe it will fix things.
I'm trying a new radio too.
It didn't reboot yet.

Just had my second reboot in 5 minutes with N_01.100.00R...
Basically, it happens only in 3G and never in 2G, so I really think this is a radio issue, but I can't find alternatives...

Hello guys.
After spending several hours of search and review, I was unlucky to find the information I need. It could be my poor search skill, so my apologies if this is a repeated question.
My S2 is from Bell.
Today my Galaxy S2 got an update to Jelly Bean 4.1.2 (I9100MUGMA5). First, it gave me SIM NETWORK LOCK issue. I did a research here, and found that it means the phone is LOCKED again. So I had to unlock it. (Did rooting first and locked with GalaxSim Unlock) Since then, everything seems to be okay and working fine with an exception of one problem.
When it attempts to connect to wifi, it crashes and reboot itself and it repeats several time until it's finally connected. I tried a few different things but it's got nothing to do with data on/off. It seems solely to be wifi problem.
I'm just wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same issue I have here.
Should I downgrade to ICS?

Yeah, I tried the wifi at work today, same issue.
I'm not sure if I deleted that account, but it usually didn't ask me to enter the password to login the wifi, it automatically connects when within the area. But now, it asks me to login everytime wifi is on.
Not sure if I answered your questions. Sorry, not an expert, but having a huge frustration. Thought this jelly bean would be awesome.... :crying:

Spending more than half a day to figure out this issue, I don't even know what I'm doing here, so I reboot and wipe data/factory reset.
It went back to factory ICS 4.0.3. Good thing I did backup all data before I did that, so didn't really lose anything.
Now I'm thinking if I want to try Jelly bean again....

Yea, everything is back to normal (ICS 4.0.3) now. Wifi working okay.
Now, (since it's wiped and factory reset) I will probably update to JB again, see if it works properly this time.
The good thing is that, now I know that I can go back to the ICS in the worst case by wiping and factory reseting.

Lol, factory reset sets your current ROM's settings to default.
Remember when you flashed JB? You had to select language, google account and all that. Factory reset takes you to that instance.
FACTORY (ROM by Google) RESET (Settings back to default).
When I said reboot into recovery I meant Recovery mode, so you could get your JB ROM the way Google set it to work, no user configurations whatsoever, WiFi included

Problem resolved and here's what I did.
1. Downgrade to ICS using Odin.
2. Wipe and factory reset in recovery mode
3. Upgrade to JB using Kies.
There's tons of posts regarding downgrading to ICS. I just picked one and followed the instructions. It gave me an issue that the phone freezed at the booting logo (I guess it's called bricked??), so I just wiped and factory reset the phone that lead to the stock ICS.
