[Q] Does RAZR put out wifi in Infrastructure mode? - Motorola Droid RAZR

Was wondering if when rooted and using the open garden wifi tether app the RAZR is capable of Infrastructure mode vs. ad hoc networking? This is important to me as I have some devices that i want to tether that do not see ad hoc connections. Thanks.
UPDATE - Found out myself. It does indeed put out wifi in infrastructure mode. If you want to wifi tether, rooted or stock, Foxfi is the best app ever made.

[Q] Wireless tethering

How do you guys do wireless tether with this phone? Whenever I try to use the Wireless Tether app, it creates an ad hoc network that I can't get my laptop to connect to. When my friend uses the same app with his evo, I have no problems connecting to it. Something about it having an infrastructure mode?
So, my question is, what do you guys use/do to successfully wirelessly tether to this phone?
Barnacle wifi tether if you insist on wifi tethering; or you could use Easy Tether for wired, but i believe it needs to be sideloaded
On a related note (sorry, don't mean to hijack), does the stock OTA 2.2 have the same tether tracking as the leaked version from earlier this year? I really don't want to pay the extra fee for something I'll use less than once a month.

[Q] Does Barnacle work in Ad-hoc mode on Gingerbread OTA updated phone?

I have heard that Barnacle does not work on a Atrix with the Gingerbread OTA update as ad-hoc is disabled, is this true?
Currently where I live the phone is my only available source of broadband (satellite sucks) and I have a system that receives the Barnacle ad-hoc signal then through ICS on a old desktop it connects to a linksys router running DD-WRT and then supplies my house with an infrastructure network that allows all home computers and wireless devices to work locally while internet is unavailable (my phone out of loop) or local and internet when I turn on the Barnacle ad-hoc wifi tether.
So if the Gingerbread update kills ad-hoc then I can not use it and the problems with downgrading back to froyo from gingerbread make it even more a issue to try and see....
Maybe I can borrow a friends Atrix to root and see in gingerbread... but that is a hassle
The alien rom allows you to use the built.in tethering. It bypasses the check. Would that work for you?

Barnacle does work for gingerbread and in ad hoc mode.

[Q] Nook Tablet Tethering Issue

I have a nook tablet (not rooted) that will not connect to my Droid X2 (rooted) tether wireless connection. I am able to connect to the tether wireless connection with my laptop though. Thoughts or somehow to resolve this issue??
Your Droid2 is likely broadcasting in ad-hoc mode. Android cannot by default, connect to ad-hoc networks, only infrastructure. Your laptop can do both.
Look around the forums here for the ad-hoc fix.
thanks
Thank you for the response, I will have to check around to find that fix.

Need to enable Ad hoc connections

I have a Verizon fascinate with cm 10.1 on it and I need to enable ad hoc connections. This is not used as a phone, it is badly cracked and I have AT&T, but I use it in airplane mode with wifi and Bluetooth enabled. I need to be able to connect this to an ad hoc connection but the connection isn't even showing up in the available networks. I've read about wpa_supplicant but the only one I found broke wifi completely. I've also tried a ROM called Slim that was also 4.2.2 and that didn't work either.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Ad-hoc network

I have a badly cracked fascinate that I am using wifi only. I keep it in airplane mode with wifi and Bluetooth on. Running CM10.1 4.2.2.
I need to be able to connect this phone to an ad hoc network. So far all I can find is to get it to create one. How do I get this working?
