So I picked up a new razr (first smart phone) and I'm trying to get email to work. I'm new to andriod but not linux. I can receive email fine; but I cannot send email (I send a message; it indicates sending but then it comes back a few seconds later and indicates it failed to send the mail). However I do not see any sort of error message (reason for failure) or error log.

I probably misconfigured the outgoing side of email; but verify server passes (outgoing and incomming are not the same and outgoing uses port 25 with tls (password authenticated).

I'm sure there is a simple error here; and if i saw the error messsage (reason email failed to send) i could probably figure it out.
So is there any sort of error log or error message that would explain why the mail failed to send ?

Anyone had a problem of unable to send email eventhough you can receive ok? This is driving me nuts! I read in the XDA II page under product info/known limitations that this is normal first time sending email. They claim to just ignore the error messages and re-click on the "send and receive" icon - it should work fine afterwards.. But it DID NOT worked fine I am still unable to send emails. Receiving is ok.
Anyone out there with any insights ?

How is your network carrier?
regardless of who you use for your email account, ensure that if you are using the O2 Mobile Web service that your Sendmail server is set to smtp.o2.co.uk
I'm not too technical but I think 1 of my mail accounts requires a different login to send mail which you cant setup on the XDAII. Maybe...
MAy i know have any new setting for gmail pop mail setting? Last time I set outgoing mail: pop.gmail.com
incoiming mail: smtp.gmail.com
It can process receive and send but now only can received but can't send? Why?
still using the same pop and smtp settings, and still working just fine through both WIFI and GPRS.

The message cound not be sent. Check that you have network coverage and that your account information is correct. Then try sending again.
Any ideal to slove it???
anyway to turn on "sending" dialog when sending a text or mms. so you know if its actually sending. ?
Should be a confirmation setting available. Not sure if that will do. I have noticed that if my SMS or MMS fail to send I get a "retry send" message in the failed message. Tap it and it tries to resend.

I'm running CM10.2 9/12 nightly. Sometime last week I stopped being able to send text messages. I can receive them, but the instant I try to send I immediately get an "unable to send message" alert, and I have verified the messages are not going through. MMS works fine. Not really sure where to start.
In the last few days I have noticed that I cannot receive security verification texts from different companies. It happened on trying to login to my social security account where they send a verification code by text to the phone number on the account as a part of their 2 step identification process . It happened again yesterday with my phone carrier Cricket that sends text notices to all phones on the account. I needed to reset my password and was on the phone with rep from Cricket wireless and she send the text while I was on the phone with her. It just would not come through. This has been only recently as I was getting texts from Cricket on payment notice and such. I did check my messaging and found the texts with and error saying cannot download. I tried to download but it keeps saying "failed to download". I get all regular texts from friends and family including MMS. It seems only from companies sending notices to my phone. Anyone have any ideas? I have the US version BLA-A09 on 8.0.0.125(C567). I recently updated to .125 and I am wondering if that could be something that caused this.
