Kind of like the title says...
I was wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of a 2.3 rom that has wifi calling and functional gps.
Tried most recently Simply stock jwt and about 4 other roms none really worked. Simply stock ran great just couldn't get the GPS to lock at all wifi calling connecting but was robotic sounding.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated?

Hey all, I am posting in the Dev thread in hopes that someone with working knowledge replies. I am running my own Rom on an optimus-T based on V10L - I wanted Tmobile's wifi calling, Sipdroid doesn't work for me or maybe vice versa. Everything works as it did out of the box or better... my ROM is just a stripped down the factory V10L ROM with swapped kernels, launcher, enabled JIT, etc.
One thing that I dislike about the current bluetooth configuration that I have seen implemented on the LG based builds is that bluetooth doesn't connect automatically. For instance when I get in my car and turn on BT it should connect automatically without me going into "settings>wireless>...>connect". CM always did this perfect on my old phone both audio and phone would connect with nothing more than turning on the BT in the notification bar settings. So how do I get this working as CM does with my current ROM? Is it in the config files or the BRCMBluetoothServices.apk?
I have tested mik's cm7 to verify that it works as desired and it connects as it should but there is no call volume only media...what gives?
Any input is appreciated! Thanks
Dear Members, I have searched and read several threads on this, but don't seem to find the exact answer I am looking for. I have an unlocked HTC Aria (AT&T Branded) currently running on Android 2.1. I am not particularly interested in changing the ROM as the phone does what I need (Calls, Messages, E-Mails, and Web Browsing). However I would like to also be able to do BlueTooth Tethering over to an Archos 70 IT tablet that I use for all the rest. I notice that the apps that would do this, all require ROOT. My question is, if I can ROOT my phone ONLY in order t be able to install any of these BT Tethering Apps? Do I still have to install a ROM, or will ROOTING not affect anything else?
I appreciate you comments and any suggestions that you might have.
Thank you very much.
No you can root and leave the stock rom in place.
Sent from my Liberty using XDA App
Thanks mtnlion!
Ok! So I rooted my device and installed WIFI Tethering. The program does start on my Aria and the wi-fi signal is picked up by my notebook, however it shows limited connectivity (basically no internet). Unless someone has any feedback, I would now assume that it is an issue of my phone not connecting to the network, however I have tried the web browser on my phone and it does work, I also tried BT Tethering but both devices will show "paired but not connected", and can't get passed this step, so any comments again will be much appreciated.
Thanks again,

Don't know if this thread might help or not.
.
Thanks cHarley04,
I finally flashed Liberated 2.2.2. and it does exactly wht I was looking for!
Cheers,
I use my phone for 5 basic things: Talking, Texting, E-mails, some Browsing and WiFi and Bluetooth Tethering.
I am on Android 2.1 and rooted my device so I could get WiFi Tethering. All is fine but not enough. I also use an Archos 70 tablet, which won't accept Ad-Hoc communication and will only Tether through Bluetooth, which leads me to the fact that I will need to change the ROM.
I am very pleased with the Sense UI and the stock ROM, and would like to replace it with a ROM that would be similar but allow me to set up a wireless BT infrastructure network/ PAN with my Archos 70. Which is all I am actually missing/ need.
I have searched and read many, many posts, but none address in full my needs/ expectations. I see some ROMs that would seem to get close, but I also notice that some need patching, or not all is functional.
I just want a very close to Stock ROM with Sense UI but with Bluetooth Tethering through PAN.
Based on the above expectations and you user experince, I would sincerely appreciate your guidance and recomendation of which in your opinion would be the ROM to best address my needs.
Thank you very much in advance.
PS: Although I don't use it much, I would also like to preserve the capability to use my GPS. Thanks...
I'm not familiar with some of the acronyms you've used. What do you mean when you say "PAN"?
From what I can tell, it sounds like gene poole's liberated 2.2.2 rom is what you're looking for. He should be releasing a new version soon, I suggest waiting for it.
Hi ECEXCURSION,
Thanks for your reply. PAN stands for Personal Area Network which as I understand it is the profile which in BlueTooth allows for the type of connection I need.
I'll have a look at your suggestion.
Cheers,

To my knowledge, none of the Aria ROMs I have used have BT PAN profile as a service that is available. I am currently running CM 7.0.3 which is Gingerbread and it does not have BT PAN and I believe the the HTC Sense ROMs didn't have them either. Since most of the Aria ROMs have had a Wifi hotspot capability, that has been the preferred choice for sharing the Aria's Internet connection with devices. BT would be slower.
You should install one of the Froyo (Android 2.2) Sense ROMs. They will retain virtually an identical look to the Aria's stock ROM, but will allow you to use the built-in wifi hotspot support that Android added in Froyo (i.e., not a third party app). Android's implementation can create a true wifi hotspot (not ad-hoc), which should work with your ARCHOS tablet.
Your best choice is probably FR008 or Liberated 2.2.2 -- the latter is a newer version of Android but unfortunately has the AT&T notification message that is very annoying.
Hi Drumist,
Thank you for taking the time to respond. Much appreciated. It looks like I will incline myself for the Liberated 2.2.2. which I believe is about to receive an update so as not to have to patch the same.
However I would like to ask what is referred to by the "AT&T notification mesage"? I've seen this comment in other posts, but can't relate to it. Could be because I am on an Argenine network?
Thanks again,

Yeah, actually now that you mention it, someone else who used Liberated 2.2.2 on a different network said they didn't get that message either. I guess they designed it to only show up for people on the AT&T network. So I guess that is good news for you -- that's really the only major issue with the ROM that I'm aware of.
Sounds great! Thanks again!
Although I appreciate people helping each other, threads like these in the development section are not what development is for. Try General.

I have searched for the answer with no success, so i hope someone here can help me. My wifi calling transmits slow, i'm running quiksense and I found others with the problem, just no sure solutions or causes. My ip is clear and it runs fine on my other devices so im not sure what it could be. Any suggestions?
I have a droidX with liquid ICS 1.62,
android version 4.0.4,
and kernel version 2.6.32.9-g34b306d
i have tried every possible method i have found to get wifi tethering working, its to give my nexus 7 wifi on the train
I'm able to tether with bluetooth, but because there's no wifi connection various apps dont "see" the internet and ignore it.
so i need wifi tethering
BUT IT WONT FREAKIN WORK. :crying::crying:
more specifically, no matter what i try, nothing can see the wifi tethering signal of my phone, its as if nothing is there at all.
it'd tried; Foxfi, PDAnet, wifi tether for root users, barnacle tether...
i'm completely at witts end here, ask me any question you need and i'll answer in as much detail as needed
anyone? at all?
if you need any more information, i can provide it
guess not
i'll probably have to drop back down to CM7, it looks like every single ics or jb rom for the droidx has this dumb issue. thanks verizon
wait, nevermind, got it working again somehow
after flashing back to stock liquidICS 1.62 i found it working again
i tried to underclock the phone so i could leave it in my pocket running wifi all day, but apparently under OR overclocking the phone AT ALL breaks tethering, dont ask me how or why.
if you change the clock speed at all, you need to reboot before using tether
