[FTF] Relock the bootloader using Flashtool - XPERIA X10 Android Development

Hi,
Here is a Flashtool bundle that will relock the bootloader.
It will install the stock 2.6.29-00054-g5f01537 kernel and then relock the bootloader.
EDIT :
Now this ftf is part of flashtool install. Get the latest release here
Regards,
Androxyde

Working great!

Hi Androxyde
i´ve run ftf file and on kernel info appear:
HTML:
2.6.29-00054-g5f01537
[email protected] # 1
Sun Jun 19 22:24:46 2011
so stock kernel was properly installed yet one doubt:
Shouldn´t i be able to see plugins on flashtool so that i can unlock again?
On previous version i was able to see this image but on last one can´t even see anything
EDIT: could be because of "androidversions=2.1,2.2,2.3"? witch mean if we have a 2.3.7 this won´t recognize?

It's because of the Android version you have. I search for a string starting with 2.1 / 2.2 / 2.3 pattern in the result of android version.
You can go to custom\features\UnlockBL\features.properties (or devices\X10\features\UnlockBL cause in older versions it was in the devices folder) and edit the androidversions property to add BlackEdition for example :
androidversions=2.1,2.2,2.3,BlackEdition
then it should work

Looks like I'm getting wifi errors when doing this. It just shows an error message when trying toggle wifi. I was running Dooms unlocked kernel 5a.
Edit: Installed the ThKernel (Stock) from Appman (on the TEAM Rom) and wifi has been restored.

Despite the fact you had resolve your issue this will be valid for others.
How can you expect wifi to work without proper wifi modules?!
If this is stock kernel obviously you have to install correspondent Wi-Fi modules. Isn't that what everyone does after install any available kernel?!

That is what I ended up deducing. I was quick with my itchy posting finger and posted my comment before I did my own quick test. I left my comment the way it was just in case someone had the same issue as me. It was not obvious to me at first but I figured it out rather quickly. And no, not everyone installs wifi modules after flashing a kernel. I didn't so I'm not included in your "everyone" category.

"everyone" was a figure of style (not sure if this exist in English ) either way i should have putted 99%
i know not everyone (FXP, my own rom were an example of it).
final thought. my point´s still valid

i think this should be sticky. may be 2 important to get lost in a couple of weeks

In case of bad unlock with loss of network services, you can revert back to original.

My reasoning is that I am selling my phone and the person buying it wants to sim unlock his phone. As such revert.
Edit: Thanks Androxyde, will be sending a donation ASAP.

wrong thread, it should be asked in the flashtool thread, this one for bootloader relock
To your questions: The plugin only appears if you have the correct andriod and kernel version. the android version is correct, but the kernel version is not stock one, that's why the plugin stays hidden.

I followed that and got "cannot download boot.img, device needs to be rooted first". Well,if I was rooted i wouldn't be doing that in the first place!?
You're doing something wrong then
You have unlocked BL?
Unlocking the boot loader is the way forward.
Sent from my LT15i using XDA App
Thanks for the replays, that was the problem. I thought it was unlocked, but actually wasn't. However I rooted, then installed CM 7 beta-nice,but still not ready for primetime. Now the question is what to do to return to stock rom-just flash it via flashtool? And will the root remain?
Clear/Reset Everything and then go through the procedure again (without re-unlocking BL obviously).
Follow the steps this time...
I suggest you use this ftf (Global 2.3.4) as it works perfectly.

Thanks again it worked flawlessly Now,do you know if there is a list or something about which system apps are safe to remove from the stock rom?

The DoomKernel is to be avoided for now,as the Wifi and vibration are not working, tried it yesterday. I can live without the vibra, but Wifi is a must.

This root rom bases on Europe ROM. But its only the system partition, so it will work on every Xperia P, no matter what region.

I would mirror the file gladly but it timed out on me for the fifth time. Shame, because I really would like to have an rooted untouched image Torrent, usenet anyone?
Is it possible to host it on the XDA Fileserver? There already is a section for Xperia P custom roms. I don't know who runs that part of XDA?
uploading on xda file server!!
will take some time (20 minutes)
here it is: http://xdafileserver.nl/Files/Sony (Ericsson)/Sony Xperia P/CUSTOM ROMS/ICX/XperiaP_prerooted.zip
tested and confirmed working
It seems like you linked to the ROM that was already present on the server: XPeriaP_preroot.zip. That's the version stripped from all applications. If I am not mistaking that's a 2.3.7 gingerbread version, so it shouldn't be in the ICX section (which, I am out on a limb here, is reserved for Ice Cream Sandwich versions?).
Then you have another version in stock ROM's thats pretty similar to the XPeriaP_preroot.zip: a stripped version of the stock version.
Is it possible to put the version on XFS that is mentioned in this thread? The 694MB version?
Anyway, big thanks already for the awesomeness of uploading the other files to the fileserver. I think a lot of people will appreciate it.
Edit: it seems that the unpacked XperiaP_preroot.zip is 694 MB. So I think all apps are in there.
I flashed the pre rooted file and the phone is now rooted, but the build # still says 6.0.B.564! instead of .654
I think that's a typo in the post, there is no build newer than 564

Hmm.. strange. fastboot says:
Code:
FAILED (remote: Image won't fit, partition too small!)
Is there a way to make the boot-partition bigger?

Haha, sry, i tried to install in boot partition, not system partition.
Is there a way to root without unlocking bootloader? Maybe some universal guide to root?

[help] Any way to root Gingerbread 4.0.2.A.0.62 having an UNLOCKED bootloader? help

I feel lost now. Too much forum search, lots of threads that lead nowhere, methods that don't work.
I want to have Gingerbread 4.0.2.A.0.62 rooted. My phone state today, is descripted in my signature.
I'm on version 58, rooted and with bootloader UNLOCKED and using Rage Kernel.
I can't upgrade OTA becase the bootlader stuff - but I can't Flashtool 4.0.2.A.0.62 either, because the processs makes me loses root.
Why?
I did this before. I Had version 62, downgraded to 58, rooted then flashed 62 and everthiing was ok: 62 rooted and everything ok - but then, I had a locked bootloader.
Is the unlocked bootloader the problem here? (done by the official way). Any way to revert it? There is a post where they called "Relock bootloader" - doesn't work on my Sony.
I think I'm gonna cry
any help will be much appreaciated - please forgive my English :crying:
EDIT : sorry, wrong post, please delete

couple of questions about my Xperia P

Hi all,
This forum does not look so active as the one i came from (Xperia X10) so i'm forced to open this thread in hopes that more people will see it and be able to help me...
So the situation is very simple:
1. I am on newest ICS 6.1.1.B.1.54 - which apparently can not be rooted yet
2. My bootloader is locked and can not be unlocked (it says bootloader unlockable: NO (and i can not continue the process))
If there are no solutions currently for my situation then i would just like to ask:
3. Is there some way that i can get some options when i open the notification bar? like wifi/screen rotation etc. It is what i miss the most on this stock ICS rom.
MY IDEA for a solution to:
1. is it safe/possible to use flashtool and flash for example LT22i - 6.1.B.0.544 -Central Europe - ICS? Then root and install CWM and then custom rom for locked BL
2. i have no idea but apparently the official repair shop can change the NO to YES - if so, can i do it somehow myself?
3. no idea...
Any comment would be appreciated, even if nothing can be done, please someone who has knowledge about this...help
use notification toggles or powerful control to get toggles in notification bar....
flashtool is a very stable software for nxt series and previous xperias.. used it several times on my xu...
I think u can root ur .54 firmware through binary's rooting method....have u tried it yet???

thanks for the tip about notifications
flashtool i have used on X10 and found it very good, but i was not sure if it is OK to use it now on the XP while my BL is locked and i have no root, i don't want to create more problems for myself than i already have
i have tried binary's method and it says that it is successful but it does not work, there is a discussion about it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2020539&page=1
o o .... I think u should wait a bit... there are several developers for xperia p who will find a way out...flashtool is safe for locked bootloaders as I and several others used it..

ok one option is to wait and another is to flash older ICS, then root and get a custom rom

you can install older ICS, root and use a custom rom while you wait a fix to the new ICS :]
i don't think it will take too long for a fix ^^

Hi all,
This forum does not look so active as the one i came from (Xperia X10) so i'm forced to open this thread in hopes that more people will see it and be able to help me...

1. Yes and yes. That's what I did. Now my Xperia P is rooted with CWM.

2. Not realy sure, mine was bootloader unlockable from the start. But I decided to keep it locked.
3. You mean like this one? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2015118
I flashed this and is working quite well. No problems so far.
Flashing is also safe with locked bootloader. I've been flashing like crazy since I rooted my phone 4 days ago.
Just do backups and follow instructions carefully.
