So,
I decided to root my nt. Rooted using zergrush method. Everything worked fine no errors. Rebooted nook and now apps fc. App market fc's, my bible app fc's at startup as well. So i do have root access, but how do i fix these issues that started post root?
Ok, so no replies. I spent christmas eve trying everything I can think. I wiped and reloaded and re-rooted the nook, now the FC's in my user apps are gone. However when I use the Google Market I get this error: process com.android.vending has unexpectedly stop. This error only comes up when I try to update or install an app.
I have verified the files permissions are 644. I have tried clearing the app data and am coming up blank.
Anyone else have some ideas, if I can get market working I will be happy.
I kinda have the same problem. I get a FC only on reboot. The angry bird app works, so idk. Hope there is a fix.

I rooted yesterday and had the same issue with my bible app, eBay, flixter and others I had sideloaded previously. I still had the apks on my SD card so I uninstalled/reinstalled and in most cases it resolved the fc issue.
Yes, my problem fixed itself.

I was never able to resolve the issue regardless of how many time i 7 boot fail wipe and reroot and ota blocked. so i just used the extended return policy and returned it for a refund. if the bootloader gets unlocked or a custom recovery and ROM ever make it on the tablet I will buy one for my wife.
I switched to the Samsung 7.0 Tab plus.

I was doing an update from the app store, on of the downloads seemed like it was hung on the install. Rebooted the phone, when I went back in Super User, Titainum Backup, Android App Store, Amazon App Store, HTC Sense plus a ton of other apps are missing, Astro file manager was still working and it looks like they are still on the SD card, but not being read by the apps manager. I cannot download or install anything from the web. Any ideas.
You might have to factory reset that sucker

Update when I tried to manually connect using adb I get error: device offline
Trying factory reset and it is just sitting at the white HTC screen after reboot :-(
I am now afraid to try another power button reset.
Well VZW is sending me a refurb phone tomorrow. Since they did not ask if I rooted (which I did), once they get my old will they check for root. The phone totally is F***ked only reboots while trying to install the OTA. Just a word caution. I hope I TBU re-installed and get all my apps back. :-(

Why didn't you hboot the unsigned ruu? Also, what radio were you on? What rom? Froyo or ginger? WE NEED DETAILS.
Edit: Found the problem, Superuser App had block TB rights... works now.
I recently had my G-Tablet crash again and give me a bunch of forces closes on a handful of apps (1 being Titanium Backup). So I ran Fix Permissions as I had done in the past and it fixed those issues, but at the same time removed a bunch of apps I had downloaded on the Marketplace. So I went to restore them via TB, but it's telling me it doesn't have root rights!!! So is my tablet un-rooted? How do I get my root rights back? And is it possible to do without having to wipe everything?
Also is there a better way to turn off the Tablet than the side power button? This is was the cause of the crash, the device options menu didn't show up and the thing just turned off, next time I turned it on I got all the force closes.
I'm using TnT Lite 4.2.0 which other than the missing root rights seems to be functioning fine.
So I jumped on the cyanogen colored band wagon. Don't' get me wrong, this is the ROM I've been waiting for. Only now I am having issues. Google Play (formerly Marketplace) force closes every time i start it up.
I've done the required, check to see that English (united states) is set. Even did a wipe dalvik from CWM. so far Play has not responded to my advances. I was wanting to get it back up and running cause with out it, I don't' have Gmail, Google Maps, and a few other apps I use.
My atrix timeline:
Bought the phone with Froyo on it, and used this guide to unlock and root. Then I installed Alien ROM 4 to my device to get me to Gingerbread (2.3.4.) I stuck with that build till last night when I flashed CM7.2 RC1 to my phone.
Nothing strange happened while I did this. Followed the guides to the Tee.
What I think may have happened, when I used TiBu to restore my apps, it may have borked Play/Market.
Also, not sure why some of the gapps didn't' come along. I did flash them, right after CM7, then rebooted. I got a screen/list of apps, but not sure what I did to prevent some of them from NOT loading.
I've even tried to flash the gapps from CWM again, in hopes that would fix things... Nope.
The answer is probably, "Do a fresh install of CM7.2," but I want a second opinion before I do this.
Forgot to mention I removed tenfars cwm and used the one in the tuts by the CM wiki
I had the same issue with the play store. The way I fixed it was I first uninstalled the play store. Then I got a copy of the old market. I then renamed it vending and placed the apk in the following directory using root explorer (need to make sure the root explorer is set to Mount R/O):
system>app
After that I changed the permissions for the market apk. I made sure read, write, and execute were all cheeked under owner and clicked ok. I then exited root explorer and rebooted the phone. Once the phone booted back up I had the old market again. Then I went back to the system>app directory and changed the permissions back to the default (probably don't have to do this, but did it just in case). After that I opened the market and agreed to the terms. I then exited the market and waited a few minutes and went back it. I was then automatically pushed the play store and had no more FCs.
Attached is the original market.
Permissions should be set to RW/R/R and none set to executable.

I know that's what permissions are suppose to be set to, but it wouldn't install the app for me until I also checked execute.

Happened with me to..all i didwas uninstall updates through the app settings. I think it has something to do with corrupted cache data. Before i got it fixed I'd clear cache from there to and it'd work for a little bit.

I've not had time to get back to this yet but may work on it tonight. Firstly I don't have root explorer on my phone, nor the experience to mess with setting permissions. Will a reinstall possibly fix my issue?
Is there any other way of going about fixing the issue using TiBu? Maybe uninstalling play and rerunning gapps?
So I have AOKP on my galaxy nexus 4.0.4. I made a back up and installed there JB AOKP to try it out. Lasted about 1.5 hrs. Then I restored with my CWR Backup. I made this back up on June 30. After I restored there was 3 apps thats didnt saw I purchased them when I did on friday. I have google checkout to prove it. I used titanium to restore the 3 missing apps but now in the play store it dont show them under MY APPS. Only when I search for them it shows them. What could cause this and how do I fix it? Theres no way I should have to buy them all over again. The werid thing is titanium worked fine and showed purchased in the play store but the other 3 apps didnt. Maybe its because I purchased titanium yesterday right before the i flashed JB AOKP. The other 3 were on friday.

I know this is kinda old but every time I try to download an app that I've purchased it doesn't show up as being purchased, and prompts me to buy it again. I tried just buying one of them again just to see what would happen and it gave me an error message saying I already owned the app, but it would not install. I've tried clearing cache/data, I've tried clearing the cache/dalvik cache via TWRP, I've tried installing an older version of Google play, I've tried clearing the cache/data for Google play services, I've tried factory resetting my phone twice, I've tried remotely installing the apps through Google play on a computer (it just says an unexpected error has occurred) I've tried deleting my Google account from the device and signing back in, and absolutely nothing seems to work. I'm on a OnePlus 5 running OxygenOS 5.1.1 (Android version 8.1) and I'm rooted using Magisk. I'm gonna try wiping the phone and reflashing the OS later today so I'll let you know how that goes but any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

What worked for me with a similar issue was removing Google play store completely (with a root file manager or in twrp), reboot and then flash gapps again. After that the play store was working fine again.
P.s. the path to play store is /system/priv-app/phonesky
At least on my Android 8.1 device.

I just tried that, and when it didn't work I went through with re-flashing the operating system all together and I'm now running stock and it's STILL not working so I'm officially at a loss... Thank you for your suggestion though I actually hadn't thought of that.
Ok I have a Nook Tablet 16gb and it will no longer install apps. It is stock ROM unrooted and a app was downloaded from the B&N market. It took a LONG time to download (large app apparently) but then it wouldn't install. It just said 'Installing" under it for several minutes and usually installing only takes a second or two. Then I got a message "Activity installer (in app installer) has stopped would you like to Wait or Force Close" I tapped force close and didn't think anything of it. But then the next day I tried to install another app and it does the same thing. Downloads fully then fails on install, although I don't get that popup again saying the activity installed stopped. I powered off and back on to no avail. I archived (removed) a few apps that were installed before but they won't reinstall either.
Any ideas what I can do? Can I fix this without wiping the whole thing? I assume if I rooted it then I could fix this? Any suggestions are appreciated.
You can try backing up all your files not backed up on the Barn and Noble cloud then preform a factory reset. Hold down the nook button when you power on your device.
All your books, apps etc are stored on your account.
Sign into your account when you reboot and all your books, apps etc will redownload.
