Has anyone else noticed the music app no longer downloads constantly after playing a song from your computer over Motocast with the OTA patch?
Prior to the patch I froze the music app for downloading hundreds of MB in the background after I opened it. I just un-froze it after updating and it seems to be behaving now. I played a song, closed it, and it's only downloaded 6.1mb including the song.

My music will not play continuously. After each song It stops and goes back to the start of the song and waits there. Any else have this problem?

Do you have the gallery set to auto close?
im not having this problem, but i am having a simaler one. I started noticing to today, i was listening to a song and around 30 seconds it started playing another song. then i restarted it and it just stopped at the middle. happened to other songs as well. it gets really annoying. it has done it on 3 music players, including the default.
You need to make sure that the music player, gallery and purchased music are NOT on the auto-end list in the Task Manager.

In the Google Music app my songs are showing up 3 times, same when I try to set an alarm with a song. Only the last of the 3 of any song will play. I'm unsure what I need to clear to fix this. I wiped my cache's in CWM and rebooted but it didn't change anything. They were coming up the same in PlayerPro but I did a refresh tracks in app and it fixed it. App that are giving me problems are Google Music, N7 & the stock Samsung player. So I'm assuming it's not an app issue as it does it on different ones. Any ideas what I should do here? I'm running the latest Perfection ICS rom.
Did you ever figure it out? I'm having the same problem on my skyrocket after upgrading to ics.
yeah, go into settings applications find the app media storage clear the data and reboot. I'm not sure exactly how to trigger the scanner to re-scan it back into your library. But I went into Astro file manager and clicked on a song and it started the process.
Hi, I don't live in the US but managed to installed the the google play music app oficially from the play store since is available to download in my country (Honduras), then i used a proxy to download the music manager.
Everything is working fine except that the app is eating data like crazy i just listened to a song that is about 9MB and the app consumed nearly 40MB of data, I've noticed that the app pre download about 3 or 4 songs ahead of the one that i'm listening to that's why it uses so much data even when i'm not making the songs available for offline play. Also i noticed that when is not an entire album this doesn't happen.
¿Is there anything i can do to make it just stream the song that i want and not start buffering the next song in the album ahead of time?
Thanks.
This just started recently. I will listen to music. Then several hours after stopping, my music player widget and app both show "Choose songs from your library to play some music..."
This never used to happen. It would always remember right were it was playing when it stopped.
Phone has not been rebooted since playing stopped.
Stock Rooted ICS.
Thanks!
Anybody? Please?
Not entirely sure what the problem is.
Recently upgraded from a z3c (with sony concept software) to a z5c. It's been pretty sweet but I'm getting really frustrated with Google play music being killed in the background whenever music is paused. This happens when I've moved from the play music app to another with the music paused (usually about a minute or so. after switching apps). It's extremely frustrating as I can't just carry on playing music once I'm done whatever I'm doing in the other app; I have to re-open google play music and click play again. This is particularly annoying when I'm in my car as I use a bluetooth head unit which I can pause/play music, which won't work if the app has been killed i.e. I'd have to open the app again on my phone which I obviously can't do when I'm driving.
Does anyone have any ideas? So far I've tried un-optimising the app in the battery settings, clearing the cache, stopping other processes (to make sure I'm not maxing out the RAM) but with no success. I'm not a power user and haven't got the phone rooted, and would like to avoid it if possible. Any help would be much appreciated!
