[Q] Home Weather Widget Gripe - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

I know it is a small issue, can anyone else get the Asus weather widget to display Fahrenheit instead of Celcius?

When you click on the weather widget, it will take you to the settings page.
The third section down, under "Other" there is an option to change the temp units.

Yeah, I tried that, but even putting it on F and clicking save it still shows celcius. Reboot, still Celcius.

Go to Settings -> Applications -> Running Services. Chick the "Show cached services"
Find "ASUS Weather" and stop the process. Then do a reboot.
That should do the trick

[Q] "Active Applications" widget vs "Running"?

Hi all,
What's the deal with the "Active Applications" widget?
Is it made by Samsung?
What does the color in the rectangle mean?
Is there a way to resize the widget to a single square?
Is there any documentation?
[wasn't allowed to post my marked up screenshot, but it's b048b.jpg at imgur.com, will try to use forum file attachment instead.]
Why is the listing so much shorter than the listing at Settings > Applications > Manage Applications ?
Thanks all!
this is a great question because this is a samsung thing that they added which isnt on regular android. so i'd be curious to know exactly how it works.

It's just the widget, you can press and hold Home button and task manager opens, the same thing. It shows the Active Apps but doesn't show them which are Cached or Running in background, so frankly I don't find this very useful.
Regards.

Hmm. You're right that the widget is simply showing the count of apps within the "Active applications" list of the Task Manager.
What about the color bar of the widget?
It's usually a green-yellow-red gradient, but sometimes it's mostly green, and sometimes it's mostly red.

How do you change the default action when the Photon is plugged into the HD Station?

When plugging the Motorola Photon into the HD station, for now, I REALLY want to select Dismiss Picker and remember this selection so generally, it doesn't bother me again. However, I want to know that I can get the picker back if some day, I want to change the setting.
How do I clear this default should I chose to set it and have it remembered? I get that you can clear the default if you pick an app like Webtop. You can do it by way of managing applications / clearing defaults under settings for that particular app. But Dismiss Picker is not an app.
Any ideas?
Setting applications all. Scroll down to whatever is default now and click it then clear defaults.

In the second section of my question, I stated that I get that normally, you can go into settings and apps and change an app's default. But DISMISS PICKER is not an app.
Does anyone have any further information about this and how to get rid of dismiss picker as your default action when plugging the phone into the HD station?

I am pretty sure that you can drag the status bar down and choose from there. There is a notification that says connected to hd dock. click on that and you should be able to choose from there

[Q] widget on notification bar is gone

Hi, this morning I did a factory reset. Before that, I remebered to have a widget on my notification bar, including wifi, bluetooth, auto-rotating... Now it's gone.
I thought this widget was intergrated in the stock rom. Isn't that so?
Anyway, can any one please tell me how to bring it back? thanks.
Go into Settings > Asus customize settings > and be sure "use Asus quick settings" is checked - this is where your issue is, I bet it is unchecked.
Once you check that, then when you open anything in the task bar the quick settings will show the row of widgets... minus GPS since those SOBs took that one out.

Google Now Celsius to Fahrenheit Fix!!

***Disclaimer*** This only occurs if you HAVE NOT enabled Google Now when setting up for the first time.....
If you use Google Now and are getting the temperature of any City you voice search for the weather showing up in the Google Now cards in Celsius instead of Fahrenheit, this is the fix I discovered:
You must first have Google Now "ENABLED" in order for the fix to work.
1. Go to Setting in your Google Now and enable it on the top left hand corner and choose "Yes I'm In"
2. Now, go to Settings on the lower right hand corner gain.
3. Then you will get an option for "Weather" under Google Now that is not listed while Google Now is not enabled. Then go into the Weather Settings and make sure "Weather units" is set to Fahrenheit.
4. Do a search for a weather temperature for whatever city you choose to verify it shows up as Fahrenheit.
5. Now you can go back and disable Google Now if you choose to. From then on, you will get Fahrenheit to show up for weather inquires....
Word.......
Thank you that helped out a lot

Why has my Google Now always been in Fahrenheit? Never had this issue yet. If I do though, I will use this fix!

Does Dashclock not work with pattern? Only with Swipe unlock?

I know that the other Samsung lockscreen widgets only work with Swipe enabled - is Dashclock the same way? Thanks

I just picked up my phone yesterday, and this was one of the first things that I had to figure out. Here are the steps that I took to get it enabled:
Go to Settings > My Device > Lock Screen
Enable the "Multiple widgets" by checking on the box.
Lock the Screen and Unlock it.
You should see the default clock / personalized message still there. Swipe down on the clock/message and you'll see the box expand. At this point, you can swipe within the extended box left and right. Go to a new tab (will have a plus sign). Select DashClock and there you have it. You'll have to move some stuff around if you want it to be your default lock screen.
Took me a little tinkering, but it's almost to where I want it.

So this will only work if Swipe is enabled? I use pattern and find using both Swipe and pattern redundant. I have to perform two actions to unlock my phone then.

Yeah, never understood why that was like that on my old phone. I have swipe currently enabled right now, I honestly haven't tried with any other unlocking method... Hold on...
Swipe seems to be the only Lock Screen that allows for "Multiple Widgets", other security options do not even allow for the option.
The problem I had with dash clock and Nils was that there is a default notification that takes focus built into the lock screen. I have yet to figure out how to remove that notification. I would always have to swipe left to see my dashclock or Nils notifications. Very frustrating.
True. Even after I've deleted all of the extra lock screen windows and made DashClock my primary lock screen, I'll still see the default/stock notifications window.
I'm wondering if it's a Verizon thing, because I've seen videos where the DC messages notification will pull up correctly (and not to the default bulky notification).
I don't know if you ever found a solutionbut, I ended up switching the message app to handcent and the default notification didn't pop up.
So that's an option.
