Google Now Celsius to Fahrenheit Fix!! - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

***Disclaimer*** This only occurs if you HAVE NOT enabled Google Now when setting up for the first time.....
If you use Google Now and are getting the temperature of any City you voice search for the weather showing up in the Google Now cards in Celsius instead of Fahrenheit, this is the fix I discovered:
You must first have Google Now "ENABLED" in order for the fix to work.
1. Go to Setting in your Google Now and enable it on the top left hand corner and choose "Yes I'm In"
2. Now, go to Settings on the lower right hand corner gain.
3. Then you will get an option for "Weather" under Google Now that is not listed while Google Now is not enabled. Then go into the Weather Settings and make sure "Weather units" is set to Fahrenheit.
4. Do a search for a weather temperature for whatever city you choose to verify it shows up as Fahrenheit.
5. Now you can go back and disable Google Now if you choose to. From then on, you will get Fahrenheit to show up for weather inquires....
Word.......

Thank you that helped out a lot

Why has my Google Now always been in Fahrenheit? Never had this issue yet. If I do though, I will use this fix!

How do I get the Weather widget to update the current location, it manually lists it, but not update the location with the weather
Don't understand, but if you want to enable the Auto Refresh feature then you can do it under Settings, You can also Enable your current location by ticking it, and also if you have more than one city added then you could Enable Auto Scrolling feature which will show all the cities in a cyclic order on the widget in an interval of 8-9 seconds.
Regards.

sorry if post was confusing, on my older HTC phones, whenever it updated the weather, it diplayed my Current location as per GPS, this one only keeps displaying home location.
No takers?

[Q] Home Weather Widget Gripe

I know it is a small issue, can anyone else get the Asus weather widget to display Fahrenheit instead of Celcius?
When you click on the weather widget, it will take you to the settings page.
The third section down, under "Other" there is an option to change the temp units.

Yeah, I tried that, but even putting it on F and clicking save it still shows celcius. Reboot, still Celcius.
Go to Settings -> Applications -> Running Services. Chick the "Show cached services"
Find "ASUS Weather" and stop the process. Then do a reboot.
That should do the trick

Weather Widget question

Hi all,
Probably a daft question, but before I updated to EMUI 8, I had the home city set in the weather widget to be my home town - set using the GPS "current location" setting. Since the update and a factory reset, I can't work out how to set my current location, when at home, as my home city. And as the text based city search entry is slightly different to the GPS current location, it means I end up with the dual time/weather display when I'm at home.
Seems silly, but it's upsetting my OCD.
I had the same issue drove me mad, so i resolved it with the following click on the clock, click settings, world clock > Date and time, at the bottom is home city, in that setting exit the add city setting and select none, it then uses the weather location which should be your location and gets rid of the dual clocks ( well it worked for me)

Under date and time I only get the option to either use the same home city as the weather app, or add a city. There is the option in the weather app to set the home city as none, but I want the dual time/weather thing, but not when I'm at home. The app allows me to add the town, Forfar, but GPS shows up as Forfar & District.
So, no further forward at the moment.

Gps problem?

Hello everyone. I'm having a problem with my gps. While i'm counting my running workout with endomondo or samsung health or any program like that gps is counting wrong. For example to a known distance and to the total 16kms it counts 14kms. I'm counting also with a very good watch. The problem is that while the screen is on it counts correct. While the screen is off it lost the way and it isn't count well.
Is there any solution?
Thanks a lot

Sounds like the app is being put to sleep by android. This means once the screen turns off (and/or the phone locks) the app stops working (or gets placed into a suspended state). Once you turn the screen on and/or unlock the lockscreen the app is resumed.
To resolve this try the following:
Turn battery optimization off for the apps in question, and check to see if android puts them to sleep (and turn it off for the app if it does).
You can exclude the app from battery optimization by going to settings > apps and then look for the app and select it. From there select "optimize battery usage", select all apps (on the battery optimization page) and find your app. You need to have it toggled off for android to not optimize the battery.
To check if android is putting it to sleep go to settings > device care and select battery at the bottom. After that the battery page will be shown, press the three dots at the top right and select settings. Select "Sleeping Apps" and see if your app is listed (and if so emove it from the list)
Alternatively if you want you can disable the ability for android to put apps to sleep. Under settings > device care > battery > press the 3 dots at top right > press settings you can toggle "put unused apps to sleep" off to stop this from happening.
If you want to leave the feature enabled then you can adjust how long it will take before an app goes to sleep. Press on "Put unused apps to sleep" and select a time frame higher then what the default is.
Myself personally I turned off the "put unused apps to sleep" and have not had any issues at all.
thanks a lot buddy. I'll try all the things that you suggest and i'll return back.
Have a nice day

Question Notifications in calendar based on location

Hey guys.
Ist there a way to activate notifications (google calendar reminders) based on location ?
Let's say I wanna make sure I lock my car, when I get close to home or my office I'll get a notification "close car"...
Only thing I see on Google is to use Google keep, but since I wanna do this with daily tasks google calendars task or reminders are ideal...
Would love not to use a third party app

Use Routines and Modes....in Settings.
Go to Settings.
Goto Modes and Routines.
Tap the + icon.
Tap the + under if.
Tap Place.
Choose either Arrive....or leave.
Choose your location.
Save.
Then the + under Then.
Tap Notifications.
Tap show Custom notification.
Give the notification a title.
Write whatever you wish.
You can even have it read this notification out.
Modes and Routines is very good...and you can use it to do almost anything on your phone.
It will open calender...but my instructions were to give you a notification on reaching your home location....because that would be better than opening a calender for that purpose.
