You left out the part about precisely which 2.2 Froyo firmware you've flashed. There is no official firmware for the T959 Vibrant yet, so knowing which hacked together one your using would be a good idea...
You may be out of luck

im having the same problem. how can it still be unlocked? i have the unlock code straight from tmobile after giving them my IMEI.
I'm running the latest version of MIUI, 1.7.15 from MIUI.us and I'm trying to access the service menus but the codes that worked on Froyo and stock Gingerbread aren't working. What I'm trying to do is put my phone in Modem mode.
The only codes I am aware of for MIUI are *#*#MIUI#*#* and *#*#4636#*#*. Neither of these brings up the menu I'm looking for. Does anyone know how to get the Fascinate into Modem mode?
Any help with this is greatly appreciated!
I think I remember reading a post on cm7 from jt...anyways, the post said that cm7 couldn't use service codes because its a feature missing from the rom, whereas it works fine on lots of other roms. now since miui has a base of jt's cm7 its not too far fetched to think this may not be possible unless it can be added to the rom. .the post was talking about using qpst to get at the modem just like you are going to do . but I could be wrong

That's what I was afraid of. I've been trying to find an answer to this for close to 2 weeks but was unable to, so thanks for the answer.
Next question... If I were to flash back to stock Froyo and change the setting in QPST I need changed, do you think the setting would stick if I flashed MIUI? I'm thinking this probably won't work, but I figured I'd ask. I'm not sure that I want to go through the trouble unless someone can confirm that this will work.
Thanks again.
have you tried flashing back to froyo ? i did it by the way, guess what..the 3G data works normally. so i think the problem is not about programming menu, any idea ? i'm a non-vzw user, i bought the phone from ebay and use it in Indonesia
Yeah. I flashed back to stock Froyo, changed what I needed changed, and flashed back to MIUI but it wiped the settings and I definately don't want to stay on stock froyo so I will just deal with what I have.

can anyone help
i seem to have a problem with sending a sms while 3g is on, everything else works fine. i've tried with a few custom roms but having the same prob with them. when i revert back to froyo 2.2.1 its ok.
ive searched all over google and on ere, a few people have had the same prob but the only solution i've found is using a app called automateit. But shouldnt it work without the need of this app
at the moment im using fla.sh custom rom. if i do the *#1234# i have
PDA: s5830xwkpn
PHONE: s5830xwkp6
CSC : NONE
apn settings for t-mobile
i flashed the rom from coderom 2
the problem is probably down to me, but have tried loads of stuff, from flashing just a csc file to checking and re checking apn settings and smsc number but still not able to text while 3g is on.
anybody know have any ideas thanks
anyone got a clue then. its doing my head in. think i narrowed it down to the modem file as i went back to stock froyo 2.2.1 which i can text while 3g is on and played around with csc files which no matter which one i chose as long as the apn settings were right i could still send a text.

Looking at the *#1234# thingy , how can you have NO csc ?
Infused with CM7 for Galaxy Ace using XDA App
not sure really. flashed from coderom v2 to fla.sh. i do the *#1234' on the fla.sh rom and its gone. so checked to see if i have a csc file using root exployer. and not one there. so god knows.
but the main problem i have is sending a sms while in 3g, its has happend on all the custom roms that i've tried. so as not alot of people have asked about it then it must be me.
for instance to get from stock froyo 2.2.1
PDA: S5830XWKB7
MODEM: S5830XXKB1
CSC: S5830OXXKB6
to coderom v1 using odin
BOOT: S5830XXKPH
PDA: PDACODEROM
MODEM: S5830XXKPH
CSC: S5830SERKPH
i simply fill all the required fields in odin with the corresponding ones from what i downloaded. apboot to boot, modem to modem ect. is that right?
turned off, insert sim and sd card. reboot then checked apn settings. go to send a text. text comes back as failed. turn data off and it sends.
flash back to stock froyo and it all works again. the only way around it that i've found is using automateit app.
THANKS
This is the same problem with T Mobile. I think it is to do with the CSC I can't find the XEU CSC anywhere.

Hi i have tryed the following XEU SER OXX and all fail while on 3G.. I to have been haunted by this.. Im on orange uk.. I also think it has somthing to do with the modem.. Maybe flashing the modem from froyo and the rest from gingerbread might fix it.. Only other this is if i put an o2 sim in i have no problems at all.. Seem only to bother orange & t-mobile as i think they are now the same..

i think it does have something to do with the modem. i have fla.sh rom running at the mo, which i flashed from coderom v2, did the *#1234' and had no csc code at all. realising from that the only rom, as i've tried a few now, that i have been able to send a sms while 3g has been on was the stock froyo 2.2.1.
so what i've done now is extracted the whole contents of the csc file with 7zip. copied them to my sd card. and using root explorer copied, SW_Configuration (HML) CSCVersion (text) and the csc (Folder) over to /system. rebooted the phone and *#1234# again and now i have a csc which is OXXKB6, which is the one that came with stock. checked by doing *#INFO*IMEI# and it already changed to XEU and now have a list of sales code.
GOT EXCITED AT THIS POINT haha
sent a text and within secs came back as fail.........
tried flashing just the modem but dosnt boot up after. thats if i'm doing it right
odin - ops (cooper) - PHONE (modem) then start.
now i've googled about having a TMU sales code which is T-MOBILE but as i've read you only need this if your phone is branded to T-MOBILE. as my phone is not then i cant seeing this working but will give a go.
is there a way of flashing just a modem. ?????
I dod the same just flashing the modem file and wouldnt boot ither.. I think you need to use all files while flashing.. Boot code csc from ginger and modem from froyo all as same time.. If it work im affrade the SOD would come back but not 100% on that..

no luck im afraid
this is what i've tried: -
stock rom ( S5830XWKB7 ) then flashing gingerbread ( S5830XXKP9 ) ( S5830XXKPH ) ( S5830XWKPT ) ( S5830XWKPKN ) each time starting of with stock rom but every time i flash to any gingerbread i'm unable to send a sms while 3g is on!!!!!!!
need help?????
Did you try flashing with the following files..
BOOT (Gingerbread)
PDA (Gingerbread)
MODEM (Froyo)
CSC (Gingerbread)
Or maybe..
I saw a thread for the orange uk gingerbread rom.. Mayby you could use the MODEM file (as tmobile & orange are the same now).. I will be trying this at some point soon..

Or maybe even extract the message apps from the stock orange gingerbread rom (only this that be an issue is that i think its polish)..

Not sure guys. This seem to be a problem for Virgin, T-mobile and Orange users in the UK using SGA with Gingerbread. These companies share networks too, yes? The Virgin Community (self help) has some input from VM staff that suggests that they are aware of the issue and that's why they haven't released GB themselves for SGA - not sure that it's as simple as a quick file replacement to resolve. Apologies if I'm wide of the mark here as I'm new to Android but I would have though that if it was a single file/apk that they would have resolved it quickly?
But what about the leaked polish gingerbread rom for orange.. Wouldnt that not work or are the freq different???

This was posted on the VM Community Forums yesterday on a thread about GB on SGA:
"I am still new to the phone but so far I have had no issues sending texts (getting use to conversation style sms),calling (call quality not as good as my older Tocco) or browsing.
I got the deal on two phones last Thursday and insisted they had the latest gingerbread version. On receipt of the phones I installed Kies and tried a firmware update and received the not supported message. Following firmware version was displayed:
PDA:KPU / PHONE:KP7 / CSC:KP1(VIR)
Without checking the phone itself I called virgin support and couldnt tell me when the firmware would be released -however just before I was about to send them back I checked the "about" on the phone itself and was pleasantly surprised.
The phone itself reports
android 2.3.3
baseband version S5830XWKP7
Kernel version 2.6.35.7-perf-CL48464 [email protected]#1
Build number GINGERBREAD.XWKPU
I had also looked into alternative ways to flash the firmware(odin) but I guess this means unless you want to risk bricking the phone folk have to wait for virgin to release it I'm afraid."
Samsung working on a fix.....
Orange have posted this on their site....
"Handsets that currently have Android Gingerbread installed on the device may be having problems sending SMS (Text) messages.
This issue has been highlighted and Samsung are currently working on a resolution which should be available next week (02/10/2011)
As a temporary fix you can follow the below instructions to change your handset from 3G to 2G only which will allow you to send text messages"
So - fingers crossed!

Thanks!
I've installed the ROM mentioned in this thread (forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1284947) and it appears, so far, to have sorted out this issue. AT LAST!
Hi,
There is a new update released by my network, 2.3.4, i'm currently on their 2.3.3 KPN. I tried to use Kies and 'System Update' in Settings to update, hover i'm just given an error that it's not available on the phone, and Kies says this version of the software cannot be updated.
When I flashed CMW it seems to have changed my CSC to FOP, instead of H3G. Is there anyway I can revert to H3G? i've tried the *272 code* and it only has FOP available for selection? It should have H3G as im on their stock rom with all of their customizations. The only other way is if someone had the links to the H3G firmware? It seems extremely hard to find, does anyone know where it would be kept,
Thanks in Advance.
Jamie.
Just flash cm7 its android 2.3.7 the update never worked for me either so I flashed cm7

I've tried it on my cousins Galaxy Ace, he's on O2. I love CM7, used it on my previous phone aswell. But I'm on Three, who have no coverage in my area, so I roam to Orange, and Orange seem to be restricting my speeds, it's GPRS, so it's slow enough without them slowing it down. Three's rom make it faster and more useable than CM7 does, my cousin is lucky because his is unlocked for all networks. and mine is locked to Three and so am I for the next two years. Woo.
Roll on July 2013 I guess
This could be for you.

Well this thread is specifically for T-Mobile USA users on v20g baseband..for those noobs who don't know..v20 is new baseband...I wanted to compile a list of working roms with working mobile data..the only problem: I don't have a computer and typing on a virtual keyboard is time consuming and tedious..as far as I know, another thread like this doesn't exist..there are a few roms that flash perfectly but the only problem is most of em don't give you working data..if anyone has pointers on how to fix the solution..speak your mind...I've been emailed quite frequently about all of this so I'm not undermining anyone's advice...one senior member gave me a suggestion but I have yet to try it, if you want to try it let me know and ill post results...I want this thread to help other tmobile usa users out

Currently I'm on perfectpeso v2.3 and yes I have working data but I believe that's because its based from kang sources...I might be wrong so correct me if I am....I know other roms like cm9 are also based from kang sources but for some reason mobile data does not work...I once tried funny sim fix but that didn't work either as it was meant for old baseband..I have yet to see a sim fix for new baseband..also I've been asked before if I had a 128 bit sim card, I'm not sure what I have..how do I find out what kind of sim card I have? I can't remember precisely which roms aren't working for me but one in particular comes to mind and that's popdog123's oxygen v2.7..it flashes fine but I get no mobile data

V10 is old baseband...you need v20 series...there should be a post within the forums that talks about flashing baseband and provides a v20g zip file....all you do is unzip file. Its a 7z file format, run LGMDP v1.5 and everything else is peachy

On V20G as well and haven't found one with working data. Just running ICS at the moment and hoping a fix will come out.
The CM7 rooms worked with aspee's fix for me.
