Hello!
I am just receive Nook Tablet.
I follow hxxp://nookdevs.com/NookColor_Factory_Mode/Skip_Out_of_Box_Experience and get Factory Mode.
There is interesting information on the screen
Public key modules=108342652296433033527751572104361125
On the Nook Color this string is 000000000000000000000000.
Is it different number for different NT? May be a key?
Excuse me for my English. (I am Ukrainian)

Where's the "10 posts before you can post in the dev sections" check?

Please post items like this in the "Nook General" forum.
I can be mistaken.
I think this is related to development. Idea is the try use this Public key as key for boot-loader.
The question is this Public key (from Factory mode screen) unique for each BT or no? Anybody can post this number for his/her NT?
If this number unique for others NT then I mistaken(

In /rom/devconf there is a private and a public key hash. I was asking about this some last week. Hopefully we can get someone that knows what they are doing to take a look and see if we are on to something or if it's nothing.

For example here's my hash of private key.

You have to know what the issues are
THESE PRIVATE KEYS HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH SIGNING THE BOOT-LOADER.
Please understand the issues.

Bored of the NFC features of your devices?
Every NFC tag you tried (hotel keycards, lift passes, price tags, merchandising key fobs etc.) is write protected?
Don´t want to buy plain tags for playing around?
Try "NFC ReTAG"!
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.widgapp.NFC_ReTAG_FREE
--> Reads the ID of the (write protected) NFC tag and connects theses tags via a app internal database to various functions (e.g. Toggle Wlan/ Bluetooth, launch installed apps, set ringer mode , navigation, browser etc.)
also have a look at:

Yeah my Amaze does support NFC but I figure its because of my case. Will try again later.

OK, now I'm curious...did you hear the sound of a new tag detected? Did the app start? What went wrong?

The app did start. It had the little loading circle saying it's waiting for me to scan a tag. I didn't have my sound on when I tried so it might have made one. But it just didn't do anything.

Hmm, seems that your tag is not detected...
If the app is closed (!) Does the normal Android chooser appear when you tab the tag?
Or can any other app read your tag?
And the last question: is there an entry in the database? If yes, did you add an activity?
Many thanks for your feedback!

No, nothing happens with any NFC app that I have tried. Not even the stock one. There is nothing in the database. I'm starting to think my phone is faulty or the ROM I'm running doesn't like NFC.
Sent from my Bulletproof Amaze 4G from xda premium
Yes, could be the phone hardware or the rom..
But the app checks at start up, if there is a nfc adapter available.. So perhaps have a look at the settings.... Best case: nfc is just disabled... In 4.0.3 its a little bit misleading setting called nfc beam...

The nexus s has the nfc antenna within the back cover... Galaxy nexus -> battery... HTC amaze ??? (don't know)... So perhaps, a broken link to the antenna...

There's about six different connections to the back cover on the Amaze so I wouldn't know which one. They all look good to me though...

This may also related to the issue that Google Wallet is having. The HTC rom seems to have its own NFC drivers and calls to a totally different function than the one built into Android. If you check the Google Wallet thread on the HTC Amaze board, I wrote out my LogCat reports there.

So can you confirm that you can use it for boarding the MBTA Buses?
is there any cyanogen mod give face detector and internet pass through
senior if had even a LINK post me plzzzzzzzzzzz.......
Nup, the only possible rom that could do this is CM9 and it has not been developed on legend yet. Plus it doesn't seem plausible since there is no front facing camera to take a pic of your face..

but bro I already have one which consist both of these but android version is too old i.e: 2.3.3 and i want more then that dude

When I was using beat0 version of Zeubeas cm9, I already tried to get face lock to work by modding the startup script for face lock to override front facing camera detection as well as override a few other detection routines with out success, unless the source code is available and some one can do a change internaly to use the rear facng camera then we are all out of luck.
Internet pass through, as in wired teathering? Isn't that already included in there? I've never used it, but ive seen it as an option. or are you talking about reverse teathering? or even wireless hot spot????
Internet passthrough as in reverse wired tethering. Gingerbread Sense offers(ed?) this with HTC Sync software.

Hi,
I am an android developer, i bought a month ago my samsung galaxy s3. The phone works very fast, but i have a problem when developing:
Instead of showing me "force close" when i make a programming mistake, it just freezes. Before my i9300 i had an htc desire s, which i use to develop too.
Running the same program with an error, htc shows me a message of force close, galaxy s3 freezes...
I'm really angry with that.
Does it happen to you?
Thanks a lot
edit: I think i have some problem like my phone can't show me error messages :s i don't have any idea about how to solve it
Steps that reproduce the problem:
1. Create a malfunctioning app (like a default program with this activity)
public class MainActivity extends Activity {
@Override
public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
** setContentView(10);
}
@Override
public boolean onCreateOptionsMenu(Menu menu) {
getMenuInflater().inflate(R.menu.activity_main, menu);
return true;
}
}
the error is on the **, it just don't have the resource that it needs
2. It gets frozen ( i can only use the notification bar or shutdown screen)
3.1 If i use notification bar and i click the options menu i get a black screen and i have to reboot the phone
3.2 if i shutdown screen and unlock it later, i get a black screen and i have to reboot it.
That's it, i wish you could help me :s

i will try, thanks
Ok, i discovered a little more about my error.
What it's not working is the error management system. I mean, when an app don't response or it has an error, android shows you the typical "the app it's not responding" with force close. Well, for some reason, mine it's not working. I can't see that message, the phone just freeze.
if someone knows the answer please tell, i have already posted on stackoverflow too.
Thanks again ^^

I'm encountering the same thing on my Galaxy Tab with ICS.
I need help and clarifications about my app idea.
I am trying to develop a app which can tag images dynamically. However , issue is as below:
Guys I wanted to tag images dynamically using smartphones but the problem is I need to find location coordinates of phones besides each other so that the phones can be tagged ultimately giving the owners names!!! The issue I'm facing is that I can't use GPS for it as it is giving inaccurate results. So is there any other method to do it? Like by using the radiations our phone emits or something like that!!! Please reply ASAP...Thank you so much!!
P.S. : In a scenario , suppose 4 users are in a pic and want to be automatically tagged and android phones in their pockets, so in India , gps doesn't change at such short distance !!!
I explored a lot but just cannot find a way out so posted it here
