Long story short, my friend stepped on my phone. The screen didn't crack or bleed, but once I use two fingers on the screen it starts to spas out and either get stuck in onearea of the screen, as in it says I'm pressing down in one area when I'm not, or the area in which I'm pressing starts to jump. My question is, is it possible to buy a new screen and switch it out with this one?

Well there's that or taking your phone apart and chance ruining it altogether along with voiding your warranty.

Well, while I was looking at my atrix yesterday I noticed these little white dots between the glass and the lcd, I thought it was dust at first, but wanted to make sure. Its all on one side of the screen. I asked my dad, and he said yes that it was, he's had the same problem with other phones before. I guess my question is....will at&t switch me out for a new one?

Don't know actually. I think it would depend more on if the rep is a nazi or cool about stuff like that. It is abnormal and distracting and not common. If you get a nazi, i would politely demand a warranty exchange. It may not sound like a big issue, but it's only a 4" screen and i'm sure you're close enough to see it most of the time, especially after you notice it.
I voided my warranty.

You can get rid of that
Flash a fruitcake to 1.8.3 then go back to 4.5.91
I don't mind it.

I get dust under my screen too, phone is in my pocket almost all the time, its bound to happen. I think it enters through the gap in the earpiece area. It doesn't bother me too much, only really noticeable in direct sunlight / if you're looking for it. If it bothers you that much, the phone is fairly easy to take apart to clean it if you want.

I wouldn't count on AT&T switching it out. I called them about the same thing and all it resulted in is them voiding my warranty. They said I must have damaged the phone in some way in order for the dust to get under the screen.

Have some dust here as well,,, barely noticeable unless under direct sunlight.

i had dust under my screen and i received a refurbished phone. Unfortunately the refurbished phone had screen issues IE the bezzle was slightly separated from the actual screen, also the left side of the screen was lifting. I called att and they gave me some issues saying that the warranty did not cover this. Long story short, they were going to send me a new phone (any phone i wanted) but i would have to use my upgrade. I refused to use my upgrade (i am hoping that at the end of this year something worth upgrading will be out) and after explaining that they sent me a brand new phone (Atrix) no questions asked. I now have 2 and still have my eligible upgrade. This phone will continue to have these screen issues due to the poor construction and the lack of speaker screen. DO NOT blow the dirt out of the speaker hole. If you cant stand the dirt in the speaker grill use scotch tape to get it out DO NOT BLOW AIR INTO THE SPEAKER GRILL!!!
I had 1(one) dead pixel on my first Atrix. Took it back to the store with everything it came with and swapped it out.
It helps that I was about 29 days in on the contract though.
Yeah, at&t's a pain. I don't have an upgrade yet, but I think I may try. I'm like 2months into my contract if that helps anyone

i noticed that i have 1 really tiny dirt, very tiny, not even noticeable unless you focus your eyes on it inside the screen, also the touch capacitive buttons make my phone looks like it has screen bleeding problem.
i want your opinion if you would mail it back and get a replacement or just deal with it.

Get it replaced. But the capacitive buttons does make it look like the screen is bleeding. I got used to it after 2 days or so. It's an amazing phone. I love it.
battery life, screen bleed, touch capcitive issues, some grounding issues

But that's the thing. Unless your "screen bleed" is completely different than the pictures posted here every Amaze is going to be the same. The capacitive buttons are too bright on black screens and the light leaks through to the area of the screen right above them.
Every phone has this problem.
Sending it in will just get you another phone with the same problem.

i exchange phone on t-mobile all the time, if thats your provider, youll have to tell them about the issue, and hopefully they send you a replacement, its only going to be the phone, no battery case, just the phone, then once you get it you can then send your old one back without the battery and case cuz youre gonna be using them on the new one

LOL i meant return it, get the new one and then trade me your white GS for my amaze = 2 Amazes
Kind of strange to describe but here goes.
If you press the left side of the screen (horizontal under Asus logo) you can feel a click as the screen moves in even when not pushing hard. It is like the layers have separated, it's only the left side.
For example if I tap the left side, you can hear and feel it making contact (not my finger, if you make contact and press you can hear it clicking). I'm wondering if it is a fault and on its way out or something many of you have? It isn't right because it never used to do it.
I have cover from the store it was purchased at that covers accidental damage, just not theft. So if needs be I will bounce it off the way to get it replaced. But has anyone else had this?
Yep, screen separation. Mine started doing the same thing. Then one of the OTA updates bricked it so I had to RMA it anyway. I figure it will only get worse so your probably better off getting a new one. You'll probably get a replacement before I get mine back from RMA. Kind of worried about how the repair will turn out too.

Thanks,
I knew it isn't normal, but I just can't be bothered returning it. But I guess I should, the first Asus product I've ever had a problem with, shame.
Hi all, sorry my first post is asking for help, but I'm lost on this one.
It doesn't happen all the time, but I randomly get a dead spot on the bottom right corner of my phone.
It happens when I touch the app drawer, and the L key when I'm texting. It only randomly acknowledges I touched the screen.
Restarting the phone usually helps, but does that mean it's software or hardware?
Should I have it replaced?
Stock VZW Note II, no apps installed.
Ty for any and all help.
-edit-
It was replaced for a bad digitizer.
When using Multitouch visibility test, if you put more then 4 fingers on the screen, it locked up the phone requiring removal of the battery.
Perhaps instead of software, could it be heat?
It sounds like a dead/dying pixel to me. If it is only there on certain screens, then probably not, but if its there on say the boot screen or something, then I'd take it back.
silhet ingliil
I'm sorry I should have been more specific.
It's not a screen blemish.
It's when I go to tough the screen.
Like if I hit the L key on the keyboard during a text message, it will only register a touch like 50% of the time.
Or if I touch the app drawer, I have to hit it multiple times to open it up.
The actual screen is perfect, no dead or stuck pixels at all.

I'd return to Verizon, especially if you're not rooted so it won't be any trouble returning to stock etc.
It's probably mildly annoying to you now and it's only going to get worse over time. If there's no physical damage to the phone I don't see them giving you any trouble.

No damage at all, and I actually went through 3 screen protectors before I figured out it wasn't them.
Kinda bummed I have to drive 45 miles to return this damn thing though.

I actually called them, and they told me to just take it back to the store in case the replacement has issues.
Which is troubling to hear.
I have a youtube video demonstrating the problem, but I won't let me post it so ohwell.
Will have to wait til I get 10 posts.
Basically, using multitouch visibility test, I roll my finger around the bottom right corner while never lifting it off, and it won't recognise my trying to touch the specific spot.
After I life my finger and move it around the screen it will recognise the spot. It's very random.
Here's the video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGl9RoBLpjA
-edit-
The youtube tags aren't working?
So what do you all think?
Hardware or software?
After further messing around in Multitouch Visibility test, I can replicate this all over the screen, but it's easiest to do at the bottom right corner where L shows up on the keyboard.

Nah, it was a bad digitizer they said.
Whenever you put multiple fingers on screen, it would lock up, and require yanking the battery to reboot.
When you notice this are you holding the S-pen? I noticed if you get the pen near the screen (close enough for air hover to work) that the screen and buttons quit working to touch. For a little while I thought the home button was having problems, turned out the way I was holding the pen would result in it being placed near the screen when I hit the button.

The main reason I noticed it was when I was texting.
Whenever I went to type words like sleep, or talk, they would be missing the letter L.
Or when I would go to open the app drawer, and it would only work half the time.
All while the pen was in the phone.
The lockup doesn't sound normal but as far as dead spots if you have a screen protector on have you tried removing it? Marginal screen protectors will cause touch input issues.
I'm in school right now and go to pull out my phone from my pocket and my screen wouldn't turn on. I come to see little hairline cracks on my screen but not on my glass which is odd. OK, If you're not insured then you need to look at this video by Erica Griffin. Yes, this is for the GS3 but it really shouldn't be any different for the GS4. Her Vid on YouTube shows you how to replace the screen with digitizer and using all of the other parts from your current phone. It's actually a good video to see just so you know how easy this stuff is to do. The screen w/digitizer seems to run around $200 which is way better then $500-600 to buy a new phone outright. Just remember, I'm just giving you a cheaper option to fix it if you don't have insurance.

They claim that as long as they can't prove that the cracks were from impact there shouldn't be a problem. I'm afraid they might screw me over. But i mean the glass is completely fine and my sides have small nicks from previous small drops. im gonna try to unroot and wipe tomorrpw after school
My screen blacked out a week ago but been too busy to deal with it. Display comes through MHL onto my TV display so wonder do I need all parts mentioned? There's no crack in my display, but to my surprise the "moisture detector" sticker is tainted red (the big visible one, as I understand there are multiple stickers -- can someone confirm this to be correct?).
I may just take a risk and request replacement over the phone. Once or more in the past, I've had a warranty period issue replaced with the warning "...if its determined to be your fault, we will charge you the full retail price" and I've sent them bootloader unlocked, watermarked phones and they let it slide. There truly was no submersion or even open case exposure to water, I'm not sure how sensitive this particular sensor is to humidity or moisture through an enclosed back.
Anybody else surprised to see their "watermark" turn red when they feel it should not have been? From past experience having phones replaced via phone support, I'd wager they take my rooted, broken-display phone and never charge me for it.........................I been with VZW a decade and a half and then Bell Atlantic Mobile and planned in about 220-250 consistently for nearly a decade.........I'm not saying VZW is prone to show courtesy for longevity, but this could be 3-4 such instances in the smartphone era of questionable watermarks of rooted and flashed-to-hell Blackberries including blatant cracks...............
