And as long as htc_vision follows through it will likely have an unlocked bootloader.

Hopefully UNREVOKED will come out with a method. They haven't mentioned anything on Twitter yet. Those dudes will come through. I've been rooted through unrevoked, and flashed hundreds and hundreds of roms, kernels, mods, etc and haven't had one issue since day 1, almost 1yr ago.

I hope so too. Their one click root program for the EVO was amazing. So easy and worked perfect. Hope they do the same for the 3D.
From what I'm reading on androidforums.com the EVO 3D should have an unlocked bootloader.

I wanted to but i can't take that risk specially that i don't have insurance and i don't want to brick my phone.

tried this on my HTC flyer
i tried this on my htc flyer p515e but as i was already bricked my tablet i couldn find it useful when in fastboot or hboot mode. but thanks for your hardwork
Thanks. But I believe most of us here already rooted our device which is quite easy to begin with. But of course yours is easier and I really appreciate your hardwork.
I've had my evo for a couple of days now, and I made a rookie mistake. In the excitement over my new phone, I accepted an update. I realized what I did as soon as I did it. From what I've seen, it looks like I can't unlock my bootloader for now, but I was wondering if I can still root. For using root apps, overclocking, etc. any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

You can still unlock the bootloader and flash ROMs, the only difference is that the kernel must be flashed separately. Check the regawmod thread for a one click utility to unlock and root
You can still root, check out this thread. Good luck.

HTC EVO LTE
My wife has this phone. This is her first android phone. I figured it would be a good first phone since she wasn't familiar with the android os. So far she loves it.
I finally got her away from BlackBerry

Not totaly every morning i take my girl to work and we drive through the LTE tower in hollywood Florida .and the only way to engage LTE is by the airplane dance . From testing that I have conducted

Yea I didn't think there was a forum for it. But I'm getting it to use for a MP3 player for work. It has a bad ESN # but he only wants $30 for it. So I'm thinking it's worth that much

My wife has this phone as well, couldn't talk her into spending a little more money for a real phone. She likes a smaller screen even though she is always stealing mine when I'm home. I would love to root it and get some better battery life.

Look closer on google the viper is running ics now. Don't want to tell ya where to look but its definitely on google!
Sent from my LG-LS840 using xda app-developers app
Looks like ics will be rolling out in the next couple weeks. Hopefully it helps with battery life.
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
Look even closer and ics can manually be pushed, using the update.zip and factory recovery but you can't be rooted or have deleted any sprint apps..

Here, this method works for the viper too. Just download the last file and use 7zip to unzip it and follow the instructions. I rooted my LG Viper that has ICS on it.
If you do not have ICS on it use this method to root
http://forums.androidcentral.com/lg-viper-4g-lte/171000-how-root-gb-root-lg-viper-gb-ics.html
Both methods work on either ICS or GB
These are not my programs, just a messenger.
Still no home for the viper?

Should I root my EVO?
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
If you have to ask then probably not just my .02
^This.
Also depends on what you plan on doing with your phone. If you're content with the way your phone is now, no. If you want to extend the performance of your phone and you're willing to take some time to read and learn, have at it

Well I've rooted phones before HTC aria, Sony x10i, samsung transform, htc EVO 4g, EVO shift, and the EVO 3d, didn't get to root my LG viper but anyways, I'm bored of stock and its like implanted in me once i do it I'll start flashing rom after rom , my question is is it worth it ?
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
As Fin said it depends what you are looking to do.
Also development is kinda slow right now some devs have moved on to the One but...it may pick up if/when the Evo LTE gets an update which is supposed to happen but who knows what HTC/Sprint has in mind
To answer your other question, yes, it's worth it. There are plenty of ROM's to choose from. There are custom kernels and tons of other things to customize your phone to your liking. There are also methods to gain S-off for every Hboot, so no worries there
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
Wouldn't be so bad if they would go ahead and release the new update maybe wouldn't plan on rooting but they drag ass too much

142 is the latest, although there is no download link to it. You have to use SVN or the terminal emulator script to update to that version. The changes between 141 & 142 were very minor.

There is only one Sense 5 port and it's pretty much a daily driver if you don't care about Bluetooth being broken and no audio when using Netflix. Try it out.
