SketchBook Pro on the HP Touchpad - TouchPad General

I'm currently running Xron on my Touchpad which if i'm not mistaken is based off gingerbread. I have been trying to install Sketchbook Pro but unfortunately it requires 3.0 and up. Is there any way around this?
I use it the paid version on my Evo but i would love to start drawing on a bigger canvas. Any help is appreciated.

No, sbp requires hc. It will not install, I've tried.
Sketch book mobile works for now though till cm9 comes out

[Q] Preinstalled Quickoffice HD vs. Quickoffice HD Pro

Is there any functional difference between the preinstalled Quickoffice HD and the Quickoffice HD Pro in the marketplace?

I'd like to know as well...

I thought someone here might know, but I guess not. I sent a query off to the developer this morning; will update this thread with whatever they have to say.

Well, I typed "Quickoffice HD and Quickoffice HD Pro differences" in Google and the second link returned said...
Quickoffice Pro was designed and developed for smartphones with Android operating system. It will work on almost all recent Android OS versions, although on some older versions (different 1.x versions) some new functionality may not be supported.
Quickoffice Pro HD was designed specifically for Tablet devices, it has optimized user interface for large screen and higher resolution and some new features which are more useful on a tablet device.
Quickoffice Pro HD will work on Android OS version 3.0 (Honeycomb) and newer.
The version on the Market is 4.5.15.
The 10.1 version is 4.6.20110614.39 - Samsung Tablet
I suspect there is no functional difference, only that Samsung had it tweaked specifically for the Tab 10.1.
I did get a reply from the developer this afternoon. Basically, they said the version that is preinstalled may lack functionality and then gave me a list of functions in the pro version. I can't figure out how to select a block of text in the Gmail app or I'd pater it in here. Based on the list of functions in the pro, versus what I can do with the preinstallation version, I don't see any point in buying pro.

I downloaded the QuickOffice 4.5 Manual and I don't see anything that the bundled app doesn't do.
I got my UK 10.1 last week and I cant find Quick Office installed.

Took my stylus back to BB - got my $40 back

I didn't use it for anything, except for a couple of screenshots and doodling, so I thought $39.99 was too much to pay for an app to just take screenies.
I ripped the Supernotes app from the ASUS EEE, and I love using it with the stylus. All my notes are now taken with that app and the pen.
Yeah the Asus app is pretty much a HC rehash of Freenote that's been on the app market for a while. Some cute features, but I still prefer Evernote / HTC notes, one big reason being that they sync and share to the cloud and across phone, tab, desktop.
Are you using supenotes on HC or gingerbread? I tried supernote on my stock gingerbread, but it just force closes.

Supernote is a HC only app. Try Freenote from the android market, looks like the same thing and runs on all versions of ANdroid
Just curious... what feature do you feel lacking in the notes app?
I finally updated to honeycomb. I installed supernote but I noticed the application is a little glitchy. Anyone else who is using this notice the bar on the left side and parts of the screen on the right is cut off? Maybe its the apk I am using. Could someone upload a good working version if there is one?

I don't get it. What's wrong with using Evernote.

Supernotes is a Asus custom version of Freenotes. Its not meant to run on the Flyer, it runs on the Asus Transformer.
I personally much prefer the HTC Notes / Evernotes to Freenote, but if you want the original version, you can download Freenote from the Android marketplace and stop using the Asus application meant for the Transformer.
Others have stated it works. My question was for those who have used the app. I am aware of freenotes and have used it, but
still prefer supetnotes. They are not exactly the same. I do use the stock notes/evernotes apo, but I like options. I had a transformer and that's why I am partial to the app. I used a version ripped for the Xoom so maybe that's why it has a few glitches.

[Q] Slingplayer Mobile on Touchpad

Hello all,
I have an older slingbox. I have tried to install the slingplayer for tablet to my touchpad running CM9 Alpha 2. It installs fine but won't allow me to view my slingbox saying it is not compatible for the player, it has to be a slingbox HD or Pro.
The thing is, I have slingplayer mobile (not tablet) working just fine with it on my droid incredible running ics.
I installed the mobile (or phone) version to my touchpad and it tries to start then just goes back to the home screen.
How can I get slingplayer mobile (not the tablet version, but the phone version) to work with my touchpad cm9?
Thank you for any advice.
Gary
That's strange. I have a Slingbox Pro (the red one, UK spec) and the tablet version (1.3) doesn't support my hardware.
The Slingbox phone (1.2) app works perfectly with my TP and slingbox. No idea why you are having issues. It even worked with both versions of the app installed.
In short - the phone version (1.2) should work fine with the TouchPad.
Edit: Slingbox Pro is not enough for 1.3 support, it needs to be the newer PRO-HD hardware. From the Slingbox website for the tablet edition:
SlingPlayer requires the use of an internet-connected Slingbox SOLO
or Slingbox PRO-HD. When used with an Android tablet, iPad or a Windows
Phone device, only Slingbox SOLO and Slingbox PRO-HD are supported.
What operating system are you using n your touch pad? I tried it on my nook also using cm9 and it doesn't work there either

Edit. Found slingplayer mobile 1.0 and that works with the touchpad

slingplayer 1.3 works on my tablet running honeycomb with an older slingbox and slingbox pro
I'm using Slingplayer 1.3 on my Solo and the latest CM9 nightly with no issues.

ICS Apps

Now that there are a a ton of stable roms running ICS for our 3D I was hoping we could share some of the apps we have found that are only available for devices running Android 4.0.
The only app I was really able to find is Boid. It is a pretty neat twitter client that is designed specifically for Android 4.0. I have been using it for a few days and I really like the snappiness of the application.
Has anyone else found any cool applications that are only available on the new version of android?
The official gmail app has such a nice ICS theme IMO...
Also Chrome Beta for android is 4.0 exclusive and is a really nice browser

I competely forgot about chrome beta, it is awesome because it syncs everything from my desktop and laptop. Definitely a must have for anyone running ICS

Boid looks great but still lacks some necessary features for me.
It's not exactly an "ICS App" because you can install it on 2.2 and up, but Solid Explorer Beta is the best file manager app I have ever used, and it really fits in with the ICS feel. If you're the type of person who wants some sort of visual continuity between apps, then this is the file explorer to use on ICS.
Chrome Beta is not really working to well with my phone. I get rendering problems when using on screen keyboard. Am I the only one?
same here. i WANT to use chrome beta, but the rendering issues make it a non-starter for me.
i've tried the ics keyboard and swiftkey 3 beta. but even ignoring the keyboard rendering issues, it just acts flakey regardless.

Best PDF reader (preferrably for 4.1 JB)

Hey guys, title says all. I'm looking for the best free PDF reader out there for Android, preferrably for 4.1. I have trouble trusting Adobe for the job right now. Any input?
Repligo
Its not free but it by far the best one I've used. Allows markups.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
I use APV its pretty quick at opening files and navigating through pages and zooms in quite well. It doesn't have tons of flash features but I guess that is why it is quicker than others I have tried. I wanted to find one that just works and this seem to do the trick!

I'd recommend Repligo as well. It's hardly expensive. Adobe Reader crashes on my Archos 101 G9 Turbo ICS.
