Now that there are a a ton of stable roms running ICS for our 3D I was hoping we could share some of the apps we have found that are only available for devices running Android 4.0.
The only app I was really able to find is Boid. It is a pretty neat twitter client that is designed specifically for Android 4.0. I have been using it for a few days and I really like the snappiness of the application.
Has anyone else found any cool applications that are only available on the new version of android?
The official gmail app has such a nice ICS theme IMO...
Also Chrome Beta for android is 4.0 exclusive and is a really nice browser

I competely forgot about chrome beta, it is awesome because it syncs everything from my desktop and laptop. Definitely a must have for anyone running ICS

Boid looks great but still lacks some necessary features for me.
It's not exactly an "ICS App" because you can install it on 2.2 and up, but Solid Explorer Beta is the best file manager app I have ever used, and it really fits in with the ICS feel. If you're the type of person who wants some sort of visual continuity between apps, then this is the file explorer to use on ICS.
Chrome Beta is not really working to well with my phone. I get rendering problems when using on screen keyboard. Am I the only one?
same here. i WANT to use chrome beta, but the rendering issues make it a non-starter for me.
i've tried the ics keyboard and swiftkey 3 beta. but even ignoring the keyboard rendering issues, it just acts flakey regardless.

not really a tablet version, but it works. If it were a tablet version, the left pane would only expand to about a quarter of the page. I bet it works with honeycomb and ics though
Actually it doesn't even works with the honeycomb or ics tablets...Check out some pics here:

IPad and ios version is the same so I don't expect a fully compatible tablet version. A 3rd party fb app is "tablet" ready but lacks the features the current fb app has. Reckon its up to the user if they want aesthetic over features or vice versa.
Webos has tablet version right? But I like the current android version. I used it on mobile.website.

It's not really a tablet version but it's a lot better than the old one.

Friendcaster has all of the features of the regular FB app, at least all of the ones I use. It works great on the TP.

I've tried It and I'll pass it doesn't have the same features as original app. And I don't like ads.

I really like the touchpad version, especially the magazine style news feed. The sliding of the panes, and links is just like the rest of webOS, intuitive and smooth. It pulls your pictures into the picture application, WP7 style, another nice treat.
The phone app version on Android seems such a waste of the screen. When on the android side I use dolphin browser to get the full site.
The superior Facebook app is just another reason I use Android less and less on my touchpad.

Tagging friends using @, integratedvchat and messaging inbox, also some posts don't show up if users set certain privacy settings.
Also some features have to be opened on the site since friendcaster doesn't support them natively

That's one thing I miss from WebOS it had a really good FB app, and I liked how it linked your facebook albums into thep hoto app.
Fb v1.8 works fine on my tp with no crashes.

Google chrome beta was just released. Apparently only for android 4.0 devices at this point. I hope this gets adapted for gingerbread asap. cheers.

Probably will see an ICS ROM before a port of this is out, if ever. If there isn't a launcher port by now, then...yeah. Tried it on my Tab 10.1, it's pretty snazzy. I do miss the quick controls, though.

True. But who knows when ICS is dropping. March? I am using chrome on my PC so being able to sync chrome bookmarks across devices would be great. Right now, I am syncing my chrome bookmarks with xmarks on the pc, which I then sync with xmarks on firefox, which then I can see/sync with mobile firefox. A little cumbersome.
It eludes me why google has not made chrome for android ages ago. Wouldn't you think?
Running ICS on my TouchPad. There is no flash support or ability to request the desktop site, or set user agent. Chrome feels more like an alpha than beta. ICS Browser + still a much better browser for a ICS tablet.

Ran it while running cm9 last night. It likes to close a lot on the sgs2. I haven't seen it close on the evo 3d however

yeah very unstable for me with cm9
Well now that the latest dessert treat has made its way, and relatively stable, to the AT&T Galaxy S II, I figure it is time to make shout outs for everyone's favorite 4.0+ apps.
Initially I have been very interested, and so far impressed with the new launchers, namely:
Apex, and Nova. Right now I like Apex the most because all the features are free and I haven't found much I feel I need in Nova.
Also new browsers (none of these support tabbed browsing):
Chrome Beta and Quick ICS Browser
Please share any apps specifically made for ICS for everyone to see
ICS Browser+ (better browser tab settings and has quick menu holding finger to the side of the screen)
use it on my prime and is better than stock on galaxy s2 also
Using EX Dialer with ICS Theme to replace the samsung stock dialer.
Both Chrome Beta and Quick ICS Browser support tab browsing...

ok, well I guess that sort of depends on how u define tabbed, cuz yes it supports multiple pages, it does have have tabs like say Dolphin Browser does or chrome desktop does
I have an issue regarding an app ever since switching to ICS. Mangawhat. Its the best comic and manga app out there that I've seen. But ever since going to ics, it FC's everytime I try to open a zip file saved on my SD card. This problem has never even been brought up before. Any ideas? And could someone here give it a go?

Is there any way to push the stock ICS dialer to TW ICS roms? Or are Samsung's hooks too extensive?
The new version very smooth on my galaxy s I
What about tablets? anyone know?
When i had it on my Prime it worked really well. Altough from what i can remember it didnt have flash and its a beta version. Not sure if much have changed.

The Firefox from play store seems incompatible but you can give Aurora from Mozilla a try. Still alpha I believe but works well for me so far on my prime. Snag the apk directly from Mozilla!
Happy Browsing!
Sent from my Transformer Prime using xda premium
Firefox does not work at all at time of writing, which I find frankly deplorable. Aurora does, however, it isn't rendering some pages correctly in mobile or standard browser modes.
Firefox Beta asbeen updated in the Play Store with tablet support. I'm posting from it right now
The bad: It renders slower than stock or Chrome and the occasional ANR (though it seems to happen less than with the stock browser.)
The Good: Extensions like adblock and phony. Flash support and it's very very smooth now. I like to stress test on cnets site and it works pretty well there.
Hi everyone, I was previously on ICS Crumble (Android 4.0.4) and I tried the Chrome browser and it open fine but when I tried to load a web page all it displays is a white page. And I'm now on Supermaster34s CM9 and its still the same problem. Any ideas? Thanks in advanced.
chrome needs hw accleration and no ics roms for the gplayers have hw acceleration yet
Hw acceleration is needed for apps like chrome , and that feature is not yet supported on our players (yet).
Use doplhin beta..i have chrome on tablet but dolphin beta is faster and better.

I have tried dolphin and dolphin beta, and while it is true beta has exellant html5, they seem to lag pretty bad, at least on GB. Anyone have a similar experience? Sometimes I think my device is cursed with things like this that no one else seems to have.

I have another device with JB and i tested chrome ,stock JB browser and dolphin beta with different benchmarks like sunspider and Stock JB browser is fastest...and chrome worst ..Stock JB is such a good browser and doplhin beta is i thing closest of other browsers...and yes it works not so good on GB but on ICS works much faster.
yeah, i dont think any current ROMs have hw acceleration yet
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda app-developers app
JackpotClavin's CM9 now has HW acceleration but has mandatory software keys.
I'll see if I can get Reuben's help to make a fix for that (beaver) dam mandatory nav bar. He made a patch a while ago that disables hard keys, so maybe he can tell me what that changes. Soft key disabling is easy though. It's a matter of reenabling hard keys. IDK, maybe the auto-reenable when u deactivate soft keys, but i doubt it.
That would be great, the navigation bar takes up to much space and is annoying at times
Meoverdel's cm10 also would work with chrome.

I've given up on Chrome for now. I look forward to trying it in the future but for now I found something even better than Dolphin (opinion)!
Maxthon Browser. It's really fast, efficient, neat and it works just like I need a browser to work. Check it out if you have the time!
