[Q] Help adding mod - Galaxy Ace S5830 General

I have a problem while trying to add my own custom mod from UOT kitchen.
The mod is compatible with my SGA and was flashed successfully using CWM 4.0.0.9
I have a Cyanogenmod 7.1 ROM by Cooper-Griff themed with and ICS theme by Sonny Sekhon.
The mod I created basically includes a replacement for the themed battery with a honeycomb battery as well as changing the default font to Roboto. I followed all the steps to make the UOT mod, flashed it, and mounted my /system/data in recovery mode but the changes have not been made.
I did add the theme apk while making my UOT Mod and even used Edify scrpting.
Can anyone please tell me what I've done wrong?

[Q] Does UOT Kitchen work on odex roms?

I want to create a battery mod for odexed froyo KA6 stock using the framework-res in the lockscreen mod for it. I already flashed the lockscreen mod, and want to retain the mod, so I am taking the framework-res from it and then inputting that to UOT kitchen. It says it only works for deodex roms, however, it went through fine. I have yet to flash it. Has anyone else used UOT kitchen before? Thnx

[Q] UOT Kitchen & CM7

I'm trying to change the status/top bar of a CM7 theme using UOT Kitchen. The first time I ever attempted this was last night. Followed the instructions step by step; everything was good. But when I flashed it, nothing changed.
My question is, when uploading files to UOT it says for GB Rom's upload the framework and system apk. For CM7 Roms just upload the theme apk i.e. Cyanbread. Seeing how CM7 is GB thats where I'm confused. Should I upload just the theme apk or the framework and system apks? Or should I upload them all?

I read somewhere else that UOT might not be updated yet for 2.3.5 Gingerbread like the latest AOSP roms are running.

I only theme out my framework-res.apk and my SystemUI.apk. The SystemUI.apk is the stock look that you get on Gingerbread without any modifications. If you unzip if with 7zip you'll see what I mean. I've never flashed it into a live/booted rom. I modify my files pngs mostly and let the kitchen do the hard work (the files I still don't understand), then replace the SystemUI.apk and the framework-res.apk into the CMupdate.zip file. There is probably a more preferable way to do it, but I don't switch themes a lot (and the theme chooser doesn't theme everything I need anyway)
I know this way will work as I've gotten my edits into these today/yesterday

[Q] How can I get custom themes!?

Ok theirs a guy on here who made an awesome ICS theme that I want to get on my Samsung galaxy s 2. I'm not sure how to do this though. He says I'll need a custom deodexed rom (however you spell it) but it seems to me that custom Roms already change the setup/theme of your phone so do I need one ? Also am i gonna need to root my device first? Also is there a link to a good deodexed rom download that I can use?
Find the theme that you like and see with which rom its compatible with, then flash that rom and flash the theme over it.
there is tons of customs roms which gives u pretty nice themes.
1. Turkbey ROM fully themed
2. CHECK ROM - u can use kitchen app to theme
3. LIDROID ROM - you can apply diff themes using theme manager
4. TWlauncher 4.5, where you can theme the launcher

[REQ] ACheps ICS Layout

Hey there,
Has anyone managed to patch there CM 7.1 Legend with ACheps ICS layout mod found here? I've tried multiply times resulting in my status bar simply not showing and coming up with an error. If anyone has succeeded can they post there patch files here for me to use? Thanks
I've also tried it with CM7.1 but without success. Lock-ring and transitions effects did work, but the statusbar crashes right after unlocking the phone.
I've got it working a while ago.
Quite easy if you're reading the Instructions.
1) Deodex your ROM (Important, otherwise there will be crashes like hell)
2) Run the AChep Patcher
3) Put the Files back to your phone and flash them
4) Maybe you have to revert to stock and then flash again to make it work properly.
The first step is the hardest step, but it's easy if you read...
yop, i get this thing working without problem, running KANG 7.1 CM, just recieved one warning about resolution when applying, commited, screen made some resolution changes and the went back to normal with the status bar and the rest correctly...
Got bootloop when I tried.
I think someone should release a rom with this theme as default
Aha I didn't realise you need to deodex your rom! I read the instructions many a time and didn't see it state that, ah well. I think I prefer an odes rom over this modification. But I would be interested in a custom build cm7 with this already on.

Why don't you ask this guy here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1515410 , he is currently making a new rom for the HTC Legend and wouldn't mind for some suggestions.

[Q] how to change default app icon ?

Is there any way for me to create a flashable zip perhaps, or anything which will change the default icons ?
I have the stock GB icons and i want the Faenza icons but i use the xperia s launcher, which does not support themes.
Which rom are you using now?(It may be lot more easy to answer if you let me know )
If you use CM7 or CM9 you can change icons through theme chooser-
In this case what you need to do is just build up APK that includes your icon pack.
For MIUI it's much easier to changes icons. Search for MIUI theme building on MIUI theme forums or here on XDA MIUI threads.
If you're using neither of above ROMs(like GingerBlur...based on Blur ROMs) it'd be bit more difficult-
There's two types of ROMs
-Deodexed ROMs are easy to change icons through CMW flash
-Odexed ROMs are hard to do it. You've got to deodex it beforehand
Some ROMs like Nottachtrix supports some themes so if you work on theme you should be able to do what you want.
