Is there any way for me to create a flashable zip perhaps, or anything which will change the default icons ?
I have the stock GB icons and i want the Faenza icons but i use the xperia s launcher, which does not support themes.
Which rom are you using now?(It may be lot more easy to answer if you let me know )
If you use CM7 or CM9 you can change icons through theme chooser-
In this case what you need to do is just build up APK that includes your icon pack.
For MIUI it's much easier to changes icons. Search for MIUI theme building on MIUI theme forums or here on XDA MIUI threads.
If you're using neither of above ROMs(like GingerBlur...based on Blur ROMs) it'd be bit more difficult-
There's two types of ROMs
-Deodexed ROMs are easy to change icons through CMW flash
-Odexed ROMs are hard to do it. You've got to deodex it beforehand
Some ROMs like Nottachtrix supports some themes so if you work on theme you should be able to do what you want.

So i'm not sure how the Theme Chooser works. All the themes i've seen for CM7 are based off of the nightly build, so its not always kept up to date with the latest build.
Is it just because CM7 is still new and not in RC that themes are still being built with the whole ROM?

The theme Chooser is meant to give you options, you can change the look of CM7. They included 3 themes in there so far. Go in the market and type CM7 themes. You install them and they will automatically appear in theme Chooser. Try MAU5 OR HONEYBREAD, they look pretty clean! Reboot anfter choosing. You could also try theme mixer and flash it in recovery. They will always he making themes for this Rom as it is one of the most popular ones role usually run. Theme will be made during nightlies and I'm thinking even after the RC comes out. Hope this helps...

Yes thanks. I thought i searched for themes on the marketplace but couldn't find anything. Will check it out again.
Really all i want is battery percentage mod in status bar... haha.
Ok theirs a guy on here who made an awesome ICS theme that I want to get on my Samsung galaxy s 2. I'm not sure how to do this though. He says I'll need a custom deodexed rom (however you spell it) but it seems to me that custom Roms already change the setup/theme of your phone so do I need one ? Also am i gonna need to root my device first? Also is there a link to a good deodexed rom download that I can use?
Find the theme that you like and see with which rom its compatible with, then flash that rom and flash the theme over it.
there is tons of customs roms which gives u pretty nice themes.
1. Turkbey ROM fully themed
2. CHECK ROM - u can use kitchen app to theme
3. LIDROID ROM - you can apply diff themes using theme manager
4. TWlauncher 4.5, where you can theme the launcher
can some body please tell me how to change battery and network icons..??? i would like to use circular ones... any help would be appreciated.. thanks..
Three ways you can change that:
1. Look in the Themes and Apps subforum and search for a theme for your baseband. Then flash the theme file.
2. Get a ROM with T-Mobile Theme Chooser for simple theme changing. CyanogenMod 7 (all variations) have that.
3. DIY in UOT Kitchen (quite hard to navigate through, but you'll get it in time).

there are many alternatives to change the stock icons
1. DO IT YOURSELF
decompile APK's and literally change lot of img inside
2. INSTALL A LAUNCHER
launchers like NovaLauncher, ADW, GoLauncher, etc support themes that are meant for their launcher
3. FLASH A ROM THAT SUPPORTS THEMES
ROMs that are AOKP/CyanogenMod based/AOSP/MIUI have lots of themes
if you are the android fanatic type, i suggest AOSP/AOKP/CM
if you think apple's icons look rather dashing, then i suggest grab MIUI
cheers!

Thanks for reply,
Maybe I forgot to say that I prefer stay in stock deodexed rom with original touchwiz home launcher. So I think the only way is decompile apk... is apktool good for this?

You would have to swap the images in the apks you want to theme with the Touchwiz themed images then put the themed apks into your ROMs system/app folder. The main apks that control most of a ROMs theme are SystemUI.apk framework-res.apk and settings.apk. Let me know if you still have questions .
