Hi everyone...
I'm using XXBLFB firmware verion, rooted with CF-root,
I want to install Omega custom ROM version 8.1(since its based on XXBLFB) but i cant find its download link in the Omega download folder.
Also if i want to install Omega Version 10 on XXBLFB, do i have to flash the latest firmware first before installing it.
(im new to all this)
you don't need to flash latest firmware before...
Installation instructions from ROM thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26325777&postcount=4

Hello. I'm a spanish Galaxy s2 user. Since I learn to change Roms whith Odin, I've tried several Roms, all of them official. Now I'd like someone to tell me how to update using Kies again. I mean, if I'm using a 4.0.3 official Rom and I want to update to 4.1 official in september-october, what should I do to do update through Kies again?
I think that I have to use a 4.0.3 official spanish Rom, but I'm not sure.Thank you so much.
You need to use stock rom from your carrier.

Well when it gets released you can download it from WWW.sammobile.com. or you can revert back to GB with your stock firmware and wait for the ota update nearer to when its going to be released.
Have you considered shooting and updating to a jb rom now? Rootbox is stable and amazing. I would recommend it

My carrier is Vodafone Spain but my phone is unlocked since its birthday.
I thought I could update from 4.0.3 insteadof 2.3...
Thanks anyway.
Hi there!
I am wanting to update my Samsung Galaxy GT-i9300 but am worried about the process because of having installed a custom kernel previously (would this muck up installing a new custom rom I wonder..)
Please find attached a screenshot of the settings and please tell me what I should do (if anything needs done) before I flash a new custom rom.
Cheers!
if you're worried about kernels, then just flash stock kernel then flash a custom rom on it.

kk, could you provide me with a suitable stock kernel (or links to one) which will be compatible with the rom I have installed?
any stock kernel that is for jb will be fine.

I am on android version 4.0.4 (so technically not JellyBean). and its safe to flash a stock kernel for JB despite being on that version before I flash a custom rom?
Sorry for asking, get confused easily..
you should be fine updating with a custom kernel (as all roms flash a kernel as well). Just make sure you factory reset when moving from ics to JB as you will most likely encounter problems if you don't.

I would suggest flashing ICS stock kernel first if you're worried. I thought you were already on jb.

Easy
Reflash the stock ics ROM
And flash any custom ROM you want
Enjoy
