I'm sorry but I needed it to get fixes for audio and other things
I'm learning how to program drivers and those sources would help me a lot to understand ICS framework and improve my ported ROM
But can you answer my second question if you are not ready to share incomplete sources yet?
is libaudio same for all qsd8k devices ?
@fxp
i don't know of it is right posting here (colossu's warning and all)
but i really want to request you to support frequencies upto at least 1152mhz in the kernel. (ur kernels with the cm7 releases usually had upto 1036mhz only).
1228 is not stable for all devices. but 1152 is pretty much ok for most x10 phones.
there are (and will not be in immediate future) too many kernels supporting fxp52 and above, so as of now people cannot use any other kernel other than urs with cm9, which means if your kernel supports till 1036, then then there is no way for cm9 users to overclock beyond that.

How strict is that warning for 2.1 only.....
Before I go testing on 2.2 roms...is it destined to failure or does it just need testing by someone?
PS, great work!
YES!.67 is a huge improvemen tto .52 in performance and battery, thanks so much!

You should really try it, I don't think Z has tested it. I guess that GPS and APP2SD will be broken with this kernel on 2.2.1 ROMs.

X10 will probably never get hw acceleration
We require a 2.6.38+ kernel for that I think
I could be wrong though
Cyanogenmod settings doesn't work because the cyanogenmod developers are working on it and trying to get it complete
Currently cyanogenmod is very close to stock

Also in the picture it shows you have a data connection but it says Its not working in the list...
Hi thanks for this!
sandvold has some hack for HW acceleration in his rom, is that included in this release?
And do we need to have unlocked bootloader to install this?
You can try ICS Alpha for ARC to find something interesting inside, wifi config files still the same cause it's same hardware but different size. I mean in ICS hostapd.conf is 8KB and wpa_supplicant.conf is 1KB but in X10 it 1KB and 8KB , maybe you can try to use module from ARC cause I think they are the same network hardware.

Welcome to the Main Thread for the CM9 version of the ICX rom series. CM9 is the latest version of the highly successful CyanogenMod7. ICX is a rom series created by a team of developers which features the brand new ICE CREAM SANDWICH. The ICX rom series is currently in an alpha stage and as of such as lot of stuff doesn't work. Rest assured though we will have a fully working rom for our device hopefully before Sony release the official rom!
What works?
GSM (Calls - Texts)
Boots (Always a good thing)
Stable
Hardware Acelleration (3D + 2D)
Live Wallpaper
Google Apps
What doesn't work?
Landscape Only
Data
Touchpads
Autorotation when sliding up or down.
Camera
Bluetooth
WiFi
As you can see the rom has alot of features missing, however we will strive to fix these issues and get a fully working rom on our play!
Also I forgot, one last thing!
How to install the beast?
Very Important Instructions. If not followed correctly and you complain accept a swift death.
Ye also gonna require one of those newfangled unlocked bootloaders.
Using Flashtool flash 4.0.A.0.42
Flash the latest kernel
Boot into recovery (Keep pressing back when the boot logo shows)
Reset to Factory Settings
Mounts and storage
Mount USB Storage
Copy the latest zip to your sdcard
Back Button
Back Button
Install Zip from sdcard
Select the zip you copied to the sdcard
Wait for it to "update"
Back button
back button
Reboot Options
Reboot into system
Enjoy Ice Cream Sandwich! (Beware: First boot takes ages!)
Now where do I download it?
"One cannot download the beast until it has been tamed!" - The wise words of the late XperiaPlayerus.
Sorry but as the rom is in an alpha state, no builds are available.
However, if you are a developer and think you can help us please pm me or one of the development team (See my signature) and we can sort you out with FTP acsess.

At the moment it is a straight port from the DHD version of CM9. At a later point I will begin to compile my own versions using the DHD version as a base.
Yes there are differences. This is the DHD version of CM9 modified (really easily ) to work on our devices.
for locked bootloader too¿¿¿
no, until there is a update to 4.0 from SE it wont work on locked bootloader because of kernel
Seriously I suggest you unlock your bootloader. I wasn't sure at the beginning but once I did it I haven't gone back!

@All
This isn't CM like the FXP project is. This is parts of CM9 with parts of AOSP (The proper android like on the Nexus devices..) Ie the one without bloatware and other rubbish.
@Atze_Kraut
No we are not noobish. (It's not my fault theres more than 1 thread. Well there are seperate versions...).
Also what do you mean noone except doom has to do with CM9? I ported this to work on the Xperia Play. DooMLoRD helps us with the kernels and other stuff.

Thanks spaarc for an AOSP 4.0 for our devices. You mentioned that rom is Non-rooted - what is the purpose for this?

Hello folks,
This ROM is very early in development
Many features will not work eg data, wifi, etc.
This is just a test version to show you what is to come ahead
For some time it will not be rooted you could add superuser app and binary, etc via recovery
THIS IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR DAILY USE
Please keep that in mind and go ahead to test it
I want bug reports not rants

Have a try using FXP 113 working for me at the moment
I hate to sound uninformed but does the X10 not have an Adreno 200 graphics chip and an Arm v7 Qualcomm QSD8250 Snapdragon which is the same as the HTC Desire (and Nexus One)? Hence would porting either of their ICS builds not help in development of ICS for the X10?
If I had to port wouldn't I just simply port it?
This is not a port buddy
This is compiled from Google's source repositories to work on our x10s
You are right though, porting from any msm7x30 and QSD8250 device is very easy

Sorry, maybe port was the wrong word to use. I was thinking more kernels, drivers etc.
nice to see this !!! we have a fitting successor to z here
btw have you made sources public (or intend to do so soon?)
oh btw... i can confirm that rooting through recovery works BUT rooting through flashtool doesn't work (pretty obvious i guess )

exams? in which grade buddy?

Hello!
Today I present to you an idea, sparked by the brilliant Gingerbread Rocks! ROM. To me, Gingerbread is the undefeated king of stability and performance. With the ST25, we're all hoping unrealistically. Everybody here is complaining about the lack of Android 4.1 on our device. Well, why not look at what we do have?
We've got several stable Gingerbread releases to base a ROM upon. So why not port the best there is?
Which is why I present to you CyanogenMod 7 for the Xperia U
The build is in progress. If anybody would like to join the development team (I'm really just starting out in Android Development), then PM me with the subject line "CyanogenMod Dev".
Many thanks,
-Toby

It would be phenomenal help if you were to upload. Does it boot regardless of the ramdisk?

I'm aware it won't be easy, and FXP don't support porting CM7 to any new devices. I might try and contact them on the matter, because as you said, compiling a stable kernel won't be an easy task. Many thanks.
Hope to see daylight to this project.

As do I. I plan to only release Alpha builds to real developers, so I save the "blahblah isn't working" comments and the cumbersome changelogs. Once we've got a daily driver/near complete rom, I'll be releasing it available to everybody.
Just a word of warning to everybody, if I don't find other developers who are interested in the continuation of this project, work may be a little slow as I'm in exam period at school. School always comes first, but whenever I get a spare moment I'll be working on this. Thank you all so much for your interest, it really is nice to have such strong support already.
CM7 would be great for this phone, I think the 388MB of available RAM do put Xperia U in the Gingerbread universe, so, CM7 is the best logical step.
I hope we will see this happen. :fingers-crossed:
Seems this will be greatest ROM ever for XU xD.

The way I see it, if CyanogenMod 7 can run smoothly on my old HTC Wildfire (about 180MB of RAM available, 528mhz CPU) then it will run amazingly fast with ~400MB of RAM and a dual core 1GHz phone. Not to mention the HTC Wildfire doesn't have hardware video acceleration, but the Xperia U has Mali-400 graphics.
Fingers crossed.

Many thanks, I'll set my own Git up later and we'll get to work on something
Mind if I link in the OP? I'll give credit to you, of course. It'd just be handy so that people can get their own take on things. Thanks again.
