Good phone for $75? - HTC EVO 3D

It's $99.99 on Amazon Wireless right now, but I have a giftcard for $25. I was going to get the ET4G, but they put it back up to $150 from $80 and now I don't really want it.
So is this phone worth $75?

Yes. Get three mystery phones. You'll love them.

Hell yes its worth it! I wouldn't trade it for anything except MAYBE a galaxy nexus. Even then I would miss 3D though.

this phone is wirth 175 lol, but yea, $75 is a steal, i sold my OG evo for 150

It's definitely worth $75.

Absolute steal at $75. Go for it. (I paid $300 for mine)

Hell no, save yourself a contract and just buy the phone cash from a person on craigslist or online.. they go around like 150 to 200$ off contract so why get into a 1500$+ contract for this phone?? ha

Couldn't agree more, I like the sense UI a lot. It seems mo-betta than the GN. The screen on the GN is pretty sweet though, and the thing's snappy as hell!

My parents still pay the bill since I'm on contract with them, so that isn't a problem.
This will probably be my last phone on the family plan.

Definitely! I sold my OG Evo for 300, bought the 3D for 470 off amazonwireless off contract, and it's been my favorite phone ever. it's fast, has a great qHD screen, and works really smoothly. plus, it's gonna get ICS early next year! definitely go for it, especially at that price

well that is good, I personally do not know what to say but I would suggest another phone if you can wait to come out early next year perhaps? the Evo 3D is good and has amazing dev's regardless of the slow progress daily but I'm sure a lot is being done in the back ground. I would wait personally but in the end its your choice; not ours.

Problem with this that it takes 3 billing cycle if you send your phone in. If you take to store, it's immediate. I'd rather get the trade in immediately and just buy from any of the stores that gives $150.
Will try ebay or craigslist first so I won't have to pay at all.

there going for pretty cheap on craigslist too.
verizons a bunch of assholes. they screw over indirect stores all the time with their dumbass price changes.
we had a bunch of rezounds bought at our 299 price point. then, verizon decides to drop the phone to 199, and 99 for new activation.....clearly, we can't match that, because even on the top tiered plan, we'd lose money...so we had to still sell at 299 for months.
then, i say f it, i drop the price to 250, get rid of the last one we bought for the 299 price point (taking a loss, but not that bad of a loss), and then we bought a few more at the 199 price point because hey, every other 4g phone that's high specc'ed is 199, so we should be fine.
now this bull****? seriously verizon? if i sell it at 99, i will, YET AGAIN, lose money for each damn phone sold. i absolutely cannot stand verizon.

YUP I feel for ya. Its pretty clear - has been for awhile now - that Verizon wishes the Rezound didn't happen, and just wants to get rid of any remaining units in stock. The reason for why Verizon or HTC would allow such an amazing phone to be treated this way is kinda making me go crazy. It just doesn't make any sense.
Also, you know that Verizon itself is losing money when they sell a $650 device for $99 or $49 too.. the numbers simply don't add up to profit. The difference is, Verizon itself can probably eat the cost without thinking about it, whereas non-corporate stores most likely cannot eat that kind of loss without it hurting pretty bad. Still, makes you wonder why Verizon would rather lose money on a great phone, rather than market it better and keep the price up.

Best place to buy it out right..

So I will be buying this phone cash no upgrade. Where should I go? I see it on sprint for 550 but everywhere else has the non upgrade price higher. I would have thought bb would see it cheaper than sprint.
Do you think any of the sprint stores will even have any on the 18th lol.

Best places would be eBay if your willing to take a risk, I did and my Droid Razr Maxx was flawless. $450
Amazon.com may have good deals
but if your trying to stay away from the internet. AAFES aka The Exchange, but you have to be in or know someone who is in the military
If you are buying it out right because you are not due for an upgrade for a while keep this in mind, I was going to cancel my contract early then restart with a new 2 year agreement to get the upgrade price and when I told a Sprint rep that that is what I wanted to do, he said that if I pay $45 that it will give me an early upgrade elegibility and so I did it and I preordered the Evo and now wait for tomorrow for the release might wanna see if you can do that instead of payin all that money to get it off contract. This is legit at least in my case, I don't know if it work for everyone but it did for me. Worth a shot!
But keep in mind it will restart your 2 year agreement....your choice!
I am eligible for a upgrade. I just dont want to be on contract. With all the stuff Sprint has been taking away and them rolling out LTE Alot more could change soon.
I have been with them for 14 years and I have put up with there slow data speeds for the unlimited thing. But My GF has t-mobil and her speeds blow sprint away in my area (3g and 4g). On top of that she pays about 30 less then me a month. She only gets 5gb of data but I use wifi a lot and never really go over 3gb... Sooooo It might be worth it to change...
I'm planning on buying as an upgrade, but I missed pre-ordering so I'm going to buy from a physical store hopefully on release day. Anybody know if all sprint stores are going to have the phone available to buy on shelves? Or would it be better to try buying at Best Buy...?
If you buy the phone full price you'll pay 550. If you do a contract, get the phone for 200, cancel the first month and pay 350 etf, you've basically paid the same amount. Might as well go on contract
That's true .... I have been with them so long I forgot about etf..... so should I get it at sprint or best buy? I have also bought with sprint...

Evo lte will not work on t mobiles network from what I read. They are different frequencies.
**** Apple, I won't buy anymore of their products. They delayed the release of a better phone.
Well if the lte does not roll out like they say it will... Or they dump unlimited data.. I will pay the etf and then sell the phone on eBay... That way I can get on tmobil or ever is cheaper... My bill is like 130 a month on sprint and my gf pays around 100 after everything... Now that only 5gb of data but still more than enough for me...
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium
What do you get with 130? With mobile to mobile minutes being free, I barely get to 100 on my plan and pay about 80 a month

Great E4GLTE price!

Most people know about this, but I want to remind anyone who is preordering. Walked into bestbuy this afternoon, was told by the cell phone tech that if you preorder the phone, you get $50 off the price, then when you buy it, you get a $50 gift card. I also am gonna trade my beat up OG EVO for $50. You can use the gift card towards the purchase of the phone, so that makes the phone cost $50!!!, then whatever activation and sales tax. Looking forward to getting my phone next week, and now even happier that I'm not breaking the bank.
Also, if you preordered from sprint, it takes about 10 minutes of being nice on the phone, and they will cancel your other preorder no problem. Just told them about the great deal, and they were like, hell, I would take that deal too!!!

You might be able to answer this. I did a preorder at best buy put down 50$ in the form of a GC. Since you mention it isn't required, any chance I could return the GC ( i buy mostly from amazon).
Also I did the preorder with wirefly, hence the reason for wanting to return GC.

I would've felt the same way. No way I would've been able to turn in my OG Evo. Could have kept it around as a backup phone, etc. Too much of a friend to just turn it in for a measly $50.
But Lucky for me (or Unlucky) I ended up dropping my OG Evo into a lake on Sunday, where it promptly sunk to the dark deep bottom.

I am due for an upgrade. I pre-ordered my Evo through the Wirefly Friends and Family website for 119.99 no tax and free shipping. I have 5 lines, all out of contract, I called Sprint and told them I did not want to pay an activation fees they gave me a 100 credit for exteding the primary line contract for 1 year with out losing the 150 upgrade credit and they also gave me 25 credits on the remaining 4 lines without extending those contracts. I also plan to trade in my current EVO thru the Sprint buy back for 70. I also plan to call Wirefly about getting the 36 activation fee waived on their end. Evo 3d value

Since asda sold all the evo 3d's for £230 and they were announced out of production
There value has just plummeted recycle value is at best £73 where as the galaxy s2 still has a recycle value of £230
I use GSM. I've been told that I can get them for $150.00. Totally not true.
I mean brand new in box. Not Craigslist or someone's screwups.
I would gladly buy a few new for $150.00 each with no contract but its just NOT possible.
Here in the US you be lucky to get anything over $130 for a 3D. I couldn't sell mine for $120 so I trade it at Best Buy for $110. BTW the GS2 are starting to go down in price too, I just picked up a mint condition one for $200
Yeah, eBay's flooded with used Evo3Ds at the moment (presumably because people are upgrading to the LTE), which has driven the price way down. $150 is about the best you could hope for at this point. OTOH, it's a great environment for anyone looking to buy one.
i got mine on cl for 160$ the phone rooted.. 2 chargers.. 2 stock batterys.. and i trident kraken case... i have had 4 people in 2 days want the phone for 160$ but im waiting till sprint has the LTE for sale to sell it.. cause if i sell my 3d now ill be without a phone till then.. the sprint store said they would give me 80$ for it.. so thats why im selling it on cl

If you go to Mexico the best price with a carrier should be about $750 US Dolars.
Got mine yesterday for 80 bucks from a friend doing me a favor. It's great, now I might not need to use my upgrade next year and wait until the full LTE roll out.

I got my Evo 3D on launch day in canada. 2 actually one for me and the wife. It has been the best phone I ever owned. Screen - nice, speed - nice, battery life..... well that has been OK, it lasts a full day I dont think I can complain. But wow $80-$150? thats a great price for an awsome phone.

I agree. Definitely keep your eye out for them. New phones come out, people get caught in that new phone craze. Perfect time to snatch them up. Got another 3D a battle of mine is selling for 65. Gonna snatch that one up to and root it for my younger brother.
