[Q] upgrading Android 2.2 to 3.00 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

how to install a new Android OS on my device Samsung Galaxy Tap GT-P1000,
i`m already have 2.2 but it dosen`t have the Market icon so that wanna get the new OS 3.00.
if thier is any way to get the Market icon without updating please tell me.
thanks for your usual support

Samsung has apparently decided that some Galaxy Tabs "did not need" the market pre-installed. I have yet to see somebody with an answer to this either (I don't have a
Galaxy Tab but am now curious about this topic).

[Q] Market Apps Missing

I am one of those that stuck with bult 69XX (the leaked rom) instead of the official 8105 build.
I am however using the buil.prop from the official version and still have some apps still not showing up in my market.
The most prominent being Google Earth.
I've tried the usual: clear kalvik-cache, wait 24 hours, reboot with no luck.
Can anyone that updated their streak through the official channels that has not rooted it confirm they can actually see google earth in the market?
I'd like to know if I'm chasing ghost so I can give up seeing as I actually do have google earth installed through a direct APK link.
If you CAN see it, please state what build, any customisations and if you're rooted ot not

[Q] Download older versions of Apps ? (Qualified apk site)

Hi everyone. I'm new on android so this issue confuses my mind. If i have to download an older version of an application, how can i find an older version of it. For instance the newest version of "A" application is 2.2.1. But i want to do downgrade/download the older version for instance 2.1.0. How can i get it? From apk sites or such like that?
If so what is the widest and best apk sites for this to download ??
Thanks for your replies...
contact the app developer and ask for it is probably the easiest/quickest route

Thanks for your reply firstly. But i asked this question as a general knowledge. Before my new android phone, i was using the iOS and i know how to do it. (i knew the .ipa sources and methods) Also i did it sometimes. But in android i dont know any quality apk sources for instance for older versions of some base applications (that has receive lots of updates) whatsapp, instagram, facebook etc...
Many of the apk sites will be no more than Warez sites .
Google is always your best source of apks bearing in mind the above .
Possibly a search or an ask on XDA .
Old versions is not something normally asked for .
jje
all the apps on play store have email contacts, so I would just email them direct

A few apps that I've found very handy are:
SuperUser - Google Play - Access control for after rooting
Rom Manager - Google Play - Allows you to install mods within the OS
Driod Wall - Google Play - Firewall for Android
Airdriod - Google Play - Allow you to control you driod device from a computer
Titanium Backup - Google Play - Excellent backup program for apps and settings
Cyanogen - Custom Rom very popular
Hope these help.

[App] Download incompatible apps from the Android Market

*** USE AT YOUR OWN RISK ***
*** THIS APP IS FOR ROOTED DEVICES ONLY ***
What is this?
Market Helper is a tool for Android that helps users to be able to change/fake their rooted devices to any other devices. For example, it can turn your Nexus 7 into Samsung Galaxy S3 in a few seconds. No reboot is required.
To download and install incompatible apps from Android Market / Google Play Market on your devices. For example, if you want to install Viber on your Nexus 7, switch it to Samsung Galaxy S3 and you’ll can. Or if you change your DPI value, you’ll find this app very useful.
- It DOES NOT touch your build.prop or any system files so it’s easier and safer.
- You don’t have to reboot the device to update the change.
- You can switch back your device to original state anytime, by using “Restore” feature or simply by rebooting your device ( with wifi/3g is enabled )
- Totally free
Supports: Android 2.2+ devices with Android Market / Google Play Store + Google Services Framework installed
Nice!
Looks promising ! I will come back with feedback! Appreciate you effort!

Not working on Galaxy S2
I am on Samsung Galaxy S2 with Cyanogenmod 10.1 Nightlies. I installed the app and it tells me on screen that the phone is changed. But when I check dashboard, it still shows as S2 instead of S3.
I see a few other people saying the same. Are you planning to fix this?
Cheers!

[Q] No Google App access possible

Hi,
after some troubles with updating the ACE II from Gingerbread to JB and then to Kitkat, the system is finally stable.
Unfortunately I still have problems accessing the google play store/ creating and accessing a google account.
I installed Macław/NovaFusion version of CM11.0 and the appropriate gapp (no matter if I use the same homepage or the cm original)
As soon as I want to create/access a google account nothing happens, as soon as I enter Login and Password it seem as if the internet conncetion fails (just no access there)
I tried to install a newer version of both CM11.0 and the gapps (no mather if mini, micro or...) it didn't help.
Do I have to clear anything before the update, to ensure that the gapps finally work?
Thanks for your help!
