No matter what rom I use it sometimes happens that it reboots it self with no reason. The best situation was on an official S5830XWKS9 rom where those reboots happened really rarely. Now I use The Myth ICS Lite and it sometimes happens 6 or 7 times a day. I am aware that it may be caused by hardware but still believe that rom is fault. I am looking for fast and stable rom for my ace. Any suggestions?
Did you try the latest official firmware from Samsung? Try to install it with Kies or ODIN, if you still have the random reboots, it's probably your hardware!

Good morning everyone
Seems to be that my GSII has serious issues running his stock rom (continuous reboots, not-working 3g etc.). I tried several factory resets, but nothing worked 100% . CM fixes some of my problems, but the only full-working custom rom is MIUI, that seems to be stable and very neat. Despite that I still prefer the custom rom (yes I'm probably insane), or a more traditional one like CM and I really would like to understand what kind of problems can generate such a massive amount of errors and reboots.
Could be a hardware problem? MIUI works fine, I can't explain why I still got problems with other ROMs.
Sorry for my bad English, thanks in advance
Without telling us the version of the stock rom you are using, we can never give you any answers.
I'm currently using
2.6.35.7-I9100XWKDD-CL161513 [email protected] #2 Kernel
Gingerbread.xwkj3 Build
That's not the original stock ROM, just one I found (here on xda I guess...)
Is there some kind of hardware-check I can run by myself, just for exclude manifacturing defects?
if you want to check to exclude hardware defects, u could go to the dialer and press *#0*# .. it will give u a list of tests which allows u to pinpoint any hardware defects ( if it exists) .... but if the problem is with the 3g, you could reflash your modem..
Initial problems were strictly connected with 3g's use, after a few hours of use i've noticed slowdowns using sms, then it started crashing and random rebooting. That's the same reason why I initially switched from original ROM to CM. I mean, I know that Samsung's ROM is not the best one at all, but I can't figure why it's so instable on my device.

As that the oldest stock rom try a newer one .

Updating: now my GSII works with latest stable Cyanogen, except for the 3g that's still not working. Should I reflash modem, as suggested by roophz?
That old kernel is known to cause random reboots.
Update to a newer stock rom.

Update 2: I switched from the old stock rom to the latest cyanogen stable version, then to a newer stock rom and then back to MIUI again. Still no life signals from 3g.
How is that possible?
Dear all,
I noticed that my P7510 running on ICS 4.0.4 (XWLP5) has an unstable WiFi connection when the received WiFi signal strength is not maximum (2 or 3 out of 4 bars). Connection often disappears and when trying to reconnect to the WiFi network manually, the there is no response. Turning off / on Wifi on my Tab is no solution to the problem either. Even a full reboot does not always help. I updated from HC 3.2 to ICS 4.0.4. after full flasing HC 3.2 first.
Is this a known issue? I cannot find any decent info on this. Or is there a ROM that fixes this? Please help. Thanks in advance.
I had no problem with the WiFi what so ever not with 4.04 and not with cm 10 jelly bean
Did you have that problem on 3.2?
Try and flash the official ICS from sammobile with odin
Thankfor replying. I did not have this issue HC 3.2. I went back to stock HC3.2 and updated via WiFi to official ICS v4.0.4. No official releases for my country for P7510 are available for my Tab, but other official ICS v4.0.4 versions I tried from Sammobile have same issue.
I'm thinking to go to CM 10 release, but since wiping is required and my P7510 has brick bug, I'm hesitating to do this operation.
Try the sammobile UK version that's what iam running and it had no problems
Cm10 is faster than official ics and gives u much more options It's a better experience at least for me except for a bug or tow but some people don't even notice them
About the brick bug I don't know what that is cause I had no problems wiping data so i can't help u their sorry

I already tried UK version from Sammobile, same WiFi issue when signal strength is not maximum. Regarding the brick bug: check this out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1879941

I don't know what it's not working for you every thing oky with me
About the brick bug....... I just checked and as it turned out I too have the brick bug and I have actually ran EXPERIMENTAL-p4.zip
I have wiped the data and installed custom roms more than I can count......i don't know maybe it's over-rated or iam just lucky!!
Iam afraid to do it again now but he says here "Avoiding brick:
The only danger now seems to bi if you are on stock ICS ROM and you execute factory/data reset in Samsung recovery.
If you are using custom ROMs and CWM you should be safe because all custom ROMs/krenels have now removed mmc_cap_erase() from list of capabilities."
Iam running a custom rom so I don't know.....
Hi all,
Until recently I have been having very unstable results with my SGS2 (gt-i9100), every time the phone would freeze, overheat, use most of the battery in 2 seconds (figuratively speaking that is) or rebooting itself.
Some people on this forum told me to try a different kernel or roms, something I did and well no real improvement, I tried combinations of ressurection remix, omega and kernels such as siyah and dorimanx (I tried more but these are the ones I still remember by name)
Luckily (or unfortunately) I love my phone and android so I didn't really want to change hardware.
Couple of weeks ago, I figured that maybe I should try yet another rom and... SUCCESS!!
Ever since flashing AOKP milestone 1 everything is the way it should be (well to be honest first thing I always do when getting a new phone is rooting it and getting a new rom, so I am not sure how "normal" out of the box operating of an android is :silly
So basically my question to you is:
does the instability have anything to do with the kernel? currently using 3.0.31-cm-00008 (which incidentally, is that CyanogenMod?)
if it is related to the kernel, anyone has any suggestions to make dorimanx/siyah work (as they seem to be pretty popular here on xda, I'm guessing it has more to do with me)
and less kernel related, if a rom is AOKP based (or CM or whatever), does that mean that this rom has all the bugs from the base + the things the specific rom has?
Thanks!

1. May or may not be, usually it's kernel related, yeah that is the usual kernel made for CyanogenMod
2. The latest dorimanx does work fine with xwlsn and so does the latest siyah for xwlss.
3. An AOKP rom has different frameworks and usually is more buggier than stock rom, because of closed source codes (blame Samsung) several features are disabled or improperly functioning.

hi, i just want help with my samsung Galaxy S2 I9100... For no reason the acelerometer and vibration of my phone stop working and it started to have software issues, if i am on stock JB 4.1.2 the lockscreen wake up takes like 10 seconds, and when im about to write someting or use the keyboard it freezes for like 10 seconds too, and then the keyboard appears, but this happen everytime i will use the keyboard. Why does this happen on stock JB but not on CM11, CM10.2 or stock ICS 4.0.3?
Note: I think acelerometer and vibration are hardware issues but i dont know why the keyboard freeze and wake up delay just happen on stock or stock based roms but not on CM11, CM10.2 and stock ICS 4.0.3? I already try to flash another stock JB rom from sammobile but the bug remains.
With the keyboard is a problem of rom....Try flash another rom..i recommended neatrom which this custom rom doenst have bugs...And also of your accelometer that smells hardware problem!

It's a software problem. Maybe the stock JB roms that you are flashing are defective or have been poorly made. Try neatrom v6.4 by sale, I don't have any issues so far

But i did try with fusion rom (s5 style) and the stock software from samsung wich comes with the phone preinstaled, i will give a try then, thanks..
New info
Well, i just found that the software issues are caused by hardware issues, with a test i just doscovered that the vibratión doesn't work from hardware, and both acelerometer and ambient light sensor, so the system try to deal with it, wich causes the freezes and laggs with keyboard and lockscreen. How can i disable the three hardware components totally in stock Jb to avoid this freezes? I dont feel that vibration is hardly necesary for me. Thanks in advance.
I've tried some kitkat and lollipop roms but a few days after installing the roms my phone starts getting annoyingly slow and sometimes apps will just close in the background. Does this mean my phone's RAM and CPU can't handle the version of Android I put on there?
I honestly don't have time to try out every rom available for the S3 to find out which one is fastest on this device. I just want a fast light-weight rom on my phone which won't get sluggish. It seems the latest official Samsung rom is Jellybean so would you guys recommend I use that? Will any of the third party JellyBean roms perform similarly? Will anything above JellyBean be sluggish?

What are the ROMs have you tried?. Have you done clean install of whichever ROMs you tried?

Currently running latest Archidroid (clean install) and it got slow after about 2 days and apps often close for no reason.
Before this I had CyanogenMod 11 (clean install) and it got slow after about month.
Before that I had whatever stock rom the phone came with. I think it was IceCreamSandwich and I don't recall it being slow.
I may have tried some other roms in between (can't remember). I had the same problem with my previous phone when I flashed a newer version of android the performance suffered a lot. So to me it seems like I need to settle for a version of android that my phone can handle resource-wise.

I have also tried Cyanogenmod and it did run well in my S3. You can also give a try on Blisspop ROM, Omega omni and Omega(Stock based) ROMs. I recommend you to try Bliss pop latest stable version.
Make sure you wipe System and Data via recovery before flashing new ROMs.
If you had installed Games of huge memory, their obb files would still be there in the internal memory after flashing a ROM. So try cleaning off the unwanted obb files.
Try flashing minimal gapps which takes less memory.

I'm not sure why my phone gets so slow then. Maybe it's one of my apps that causes it. I guess I can try BlissPop and then only install my apps as I need them. It looks like the latest stable version is 5.1.1 yet I can only see v4.0.1 on their website.

Yes. Blisspop 4.0.1 is the latest stable version which is Android 5.1.1. Install minimal Gapps. Use Greenify app to hibernate less used apps.
