I bought the grey 32gb asus transformer prime from the best buy website on friday like many of you. Ive noticed that i already have a charge on my card, i ordered around 4 oclock friday afternoon. Has anybody else gotten a charge on their card? if so when did you order?
I payed via paypal and my cc says under processing. Ordered friday at like 1pm.

I ordered on Friday and used paypal. My paypal account says the money was taken from the credit card and sent to Best Buy. I got the Express shipping.
I think that its so odd that some people that ordered before me never got charged on their card, but it seems that almost everyone that ordered after me hasnt got charged

see that makes no sense people ordering the next day are getting charged rather than the people who ordered before them... you select the highest shipping did you not? it seems like everyone who orders the highest shipping gets charged instantly.
Card was charged, now I just wait.

hoighest shippings means they process you faster to get your order shipping to you to get it to you by the time they say you should have it. aka you order next day air and someone the day before orders ground. The guy who got next day air wants his **** tomorrow the other guy doesn't really care as long as he gets it so the rush the next day air order. I'm about 95% sure thats how it works.

yea ive been calling pretty much every best buy and game stop within a 40 mile radius of my house every day to see if they have it in yet
I ordered two, one with expedited, but not overnight shipping, one with just regular free shipping, and neither has been charged.
The expedited had been estimated to arrive wednesday when I ordered, the other by the 3rd of January, so people certainly will need to see some movement soon, or there are going to be some issues.

My overnight order at 12:30 on Friday hasn't charged yet. Pre-authorization, but not charged. And it stills shows processing.
I'm supposed to get it on Tuesday, but I'm not terribly hopeful.

Actually, paypal charged your card, until Best Buy goes from In Progress to completed you will know you have a prime. I am in the same boat as you, but mine came out of my checking account

I was one of those who converted champagne to grey (re-)ordered Fri (11/23) afternoon a few hours after the email came out. Upgraded shipping, to arrive tomorrow (12/27).
So far, no change of status from "processing", no charge to card, no tracking number.
Somehow, I think the delivery date is a mirage. Murphy lurks everywhere with BB.

At the Gamestop location where I bought the Prime, there was no real preorder list but the manager told me he'd put my name down once there is one, not sure how much faith I have in that...

Well gang, I just did my pre-order from Gamestop.com, as usual I'm cheap so I went went the default shipping option Standard/FREE , it says the Pre-Order ships 1/4/2012
$149.99 + 10.50 tax = $160.49
I currently have a "mis-matched" set, but am actually quite pleased.
I managed to place order on 22nd with Newegg to pickup a Gray dock in City of Industry, CA on afternoon of 23rd. Am using it with a Champagne table I managed to order from Newegg on the 22nd that was delivered overnight. Considering how hard it is to get either, I just decided not to worry about a mis-matched look, I just wanted to get them both and use them together as soon as possible.
Was intending to sell the gray dock once I got a champagne one (pre-order from Amazon), but actually I rather like the two-tone combo look that I have. The base docking unit is dark, the tablet is a light color, and aesthetically I find it rather pleasing to have it this way.
And in the meantime, I am definitely enjoying the docking station and what it adds to the functionality of the Prime.
I preordered mine from Gamestop. Should be here around the 5th.

I took a chance with these guys as well, however January 5 is the day THEY receive the item from the manufacturer according to the website. Even worse, according to the email I just received from them, January 5 is the day the item ships to them from the manufacturer.
Right now I'm keeping my fingers crossed for an arrival on the week of Jan 16. Hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised.

It does actually. The left side of the touch screen doesn't work. I am also worried about any damage to the battery. I shouldn't have turned it on. If any hears of a house fire overnight in Australia caused by a faulty android tablet....

According to the picture comments, the UPS box was fine. The device inside the box wasn't. So it was broken prior to UPS I think.
B&H is one of the best companies you could ever deal with.
I've ordered many many items from them.
Always arrived doubled boxed and packed well.
And if you have a concern with your order,
they offer great customer service as well.
Call them.
It is too bad Asus didn't package it so the prime was near the center of the boxes. The way they box these the box top almost rests on the screen so any corner damage to the top of the box has a good chance of damaging the unit.

That's sad, waiting so long to found it like that.
If there anyone can talk about deal with B&H, it's me. A little off-topic but here is my story, sorry for the long reading.
3 years ago I was in NY on a roadtrip, I went to B&H to buy a Sony FX7 (around $2,800) camera. Bought the camera, the salesman never open the box, I took the camera box, and to my fault, I never open it because I was going to catch a flight.
3 hours later, I was scanning the box thru TSA screening in Newark, and the TSA lady told me, Sir what you have in that box, I reply, a Camera I bought 3 hours ago, she asked me to open the box because the're wasn't a camera.
So I proceed to open the sealed box, and to my surprise, I found two rocks inside the box that were hold with tape. You can imagine my face, I looked around to see if there was any hidden camera, thought was a joke. I asked for a police officer to be witness.
So the situation was, bags were checked, so I had to change the flight, rent a car, an place to stay overnight. Next morning I went to B&H and explain the situation.
They kept me waiting, an hour later the sales man told me to go upstairs to a small office, with a lot of security cameras and two guys, one was the Store manager and the other one was on casual clothes. They asked what happened. As soon i finished, the guy took out a Police ID Badge, he took all my stuff, and my wallet. They threat me like a theft. I told them to call the airport, they call the airport, my friends that returned home, the warehouse, UPS.
After 4 hours of questions and all that stuff, was the worst situation in my life, been threatened like a theft, with nobody to help you, after you bought a 3k camera and got two fcking rocks. They decided to gave me the camera, because they find that the box with rocks weight the same as one with the camera, and the rocks were placed in a way that holding the box was the same feel as the one with camera. So was an inside job and a good one.
They gave me the camera, I opened in front of everyone. Lesson learned.

Its going to take at least a week to get an answer from them, according to the guy on the phone.
I have purchased from them in the past and had no issues.
Dear God, I just cried a bit.
Looks like that was packaged much better than Best Buy! They put them in a non padded bag, yes just a bag, with no padding no bubble wrap, nothing.
When I returned mine to Best Buy, I told the lady:
Me : "Can you believe that Best Buy shipped me a $500 tablet in a bag with no padding or anything?"
CS Rep : "Its because it is such a Sturdy Box!"
Me: "The Box may be sturdy, but the screen is covered by about 1/8 inch cardboard inside the box and that is it. One drop and that screen is toast!"
CS Rep: "Well, there isn't much padding in the box, you are right!"
Heck, when you open a prime, the tablet is right there the minute you take the top off. There is no padding on top of the tablet, and Best Buy just throws them in a bag that says nothing.
It isn't marked Fragile, it isn't marked anything!
Pretty sad!
A week to get an answer. That is unacceptable. I would call my credit card company and request a charge back and do business elsewhere.

huh, that's terrible! mine came in some stupid bubble wrap envelope not even a box, i'm surprised mine didn't end up looking like that i also wouldn't be surprised that some of these supposed factory defects such as screens coming apart and cables becoming disconnected is a result of the shipping, seems like everyone that ships these things seems to think the asus packaging is enough to with stand the rigors of fed ex and ups delivery.....

So sorry to see this. A quick tip: be sure to also take pictures of the shipping container (inside and out). If there is no damage (dents/cuts) it was most likely the factory. Some of these companies are quick to try to blame the shipping carrier. Granted UPS/FedEx throw around and drop boxes but you will usually see some sign of it on the exterior of the box.
I'm not at all surprised. I bet they'll claim you did it yourself. I just got mine back from Grapevine and they didn't even seat the LCD and back plate correctly. The right side has severe light bleed, rippling, and a large amount of play between the glass and the back plate. I'm debating just taking it apart and trying to fix it myself. We all know which would be faster...
Asus gets to join Apple on the long list of companies I'll never buy from.
Edit: AHAHAHA. Took it apart and fixed it myself. Dumbasses left one of those rubber dock plugs between the battery and the LCD. I am officially more competent than ASUS repair techs.
I videotaped the box before, during opening, and turning on tab for the first time making sure it worked and all fit and finish was appropriate. Honestly I'm convinced it's because I took as much precaution as possible that everything (knock on wood) turned out ok.

Asus did issue me an RMA #, and I sent out with their Fedex overnight shipping label back to their Grapevine Facility (great....).
Tracking # shows that was received at around 10 am on 4/20/2012, by the Grapevine facility (same person signed for it when I first sent it in for RMA).
Unlike my last RMA # which actually worked and showed the status updates immediately, the RMA # I have now isn't showing up. So much for hoping for a swift RMA process this time around...
I'm tempted to call in, but I'm guessing the CSR will give me the boilerplate "It takes a 5-7 business days for an update."

Asus did issue me an RMA #, and I sent out with their Fedex overnight shipping label back to their Grapevine Facility (great....).
Tracking # shows that was received at around 10 am on 4/20/2012, by the Grapevine facility (same person signed for it when I first sent it in for RMA).
Unlike my last RMA # which actually worked and showed the status updates immediately, the RMA # I have now isn't showing up. So much for hoping for a swift RMA process this time around...
I'm tempted to call in, but I'm guessing the CSR will give me the boilerplate "It takes a 5-7 business days for an update."

then after 5-7 business days for an update, they'll give you the "you need to wait 10-14 business days before it can be escalated"
called in on the 11th or 12th business day, "sorry can't help you, you need to wait til after the 14th business days til we can give a rats ass about you"

Update 2: yes 6 HOURS screen time for the first drain. I'm amaze with this battery. Dammm with $10 i got almost 2x of stock battery. What else i can ask for?

update 1: the first use 50% of battery after full charge. I think this battery has at least 4500mAh.
50% battery for 3 hours of screen time and ~ 20 hours standby. WOW. My stock battery 3:15 - 3:45hours with RootDim and Juice Defender.
So i receive it today. looks sturdy, nice matte black cover. Fits PERFECTLY to my ATT Note also my wall charger. I'll review the battery life later after my first drain, charging now
i am afraid if i buy them under $10 may causes my phone damage.
I wish they had a white cover...

I know it's ridiculous but I know I'll have some use for this if this works as they claim. Most people tell me to just get a 2nd battery, but for my use, that is not an option. We go on 100mi. bike rides where we track our routes via GPS and the AllSport app to see how we do. Swapping batteries will kill the recording so hopefully this extra 5000maH carries my phone from start to finish and actually record a whole ride.
I went ahead and pulled the trigger. Going camping for a week in Colorado next month and this will be great. Although I am somewhat worried about this causing damage to my phone. Kind of. Don't really know what to think. But hey, it was $10.....

Just ordered 5 seconds ago. For $10, can't go wrong. This bat is at least = or better than stock 2500mah. Summer time coming, extra juice for the phone.
I seriously think other brand battery cost ~ $90. This should be a winner.
For $10 I couldnt help it, went ahead and bit the bullet myself!

I rather not take that chance just to save $10. I got Samsung Original Note battery from AT&T for $20.
If later the quality of the battery has been proven, sure I'll buy. Just like when NewTrent first came out a couple of years ago. No one heard of them but look at the reviews in Amazon now. HUNDREDS of 4.5 stars review.
Of course, this is just my opinion.. just sayin...

I have the 3030 MAh Gold Battery atm, this one is 1/3 the price and sounds promising. The only thing I'm skeptical about, is what the construct is like.
Apparantly there are a few others out there who opened a battery (claiming to have more than 5000mah) and finding out that it was actually two 1500mah batteries taped together, hence the cheap price?
Someone post an update on the battery, and let us know how it works!

That was the Hyperion battery you are talking about. I'm hoping this one isn't the same way.
I got my 2 pack of Anker 2500 mah and they "seem" to be true 2500mah.

So today I got home from worked, checked the mail, and wooohooo! Manila envelope in the mailbox!
So I opened this bad boy up and immediately started peeling the sticker off. I got the sticker peeled all the way off around and come to find out it is 3 batteries stuck together(with no markings on them). Like an idiot I started to push them out of the little plastic cage-type thing they are held together in and *SPARK* / *ZAP* I got shocked/burnt. It didn't hurt, just a little burn mark on my finger.
So I was reluctant to try it out my phone, but curiosity got the best of me and I put it in and the phone wouldn't even turn on. So I'm sure I fried it.
What is worse, I try to see how the back cover fits, and look what I find...
Its cracked!
So I called up the company, waited on hold for about five minutes.
Talked to a CSR and she said they would be getting a new shipment next week and they would ship a new one out along with a return address label to ship this one back. We'll see how this one fares.

Got mine a few days ago. So far so good except for the same issues as above post. The back cover for me was cracked down in the bottom corner where the s-pen slot would be! Cover doesn't properly lock into the phone itself so that one corner hangs lose.
I called the company I ordered it from. The customer service was very good. They did notify me that the shipment is currently sold out and that they'll send me a new cover as soon as new shipments come in.

luckily, mine doesnt have that issue. it fits so tight. even better compares to the stock one. love the battery so far. still trying to drain all my first charge. I really recomend this battery. i think i will have more than 5 hours of screen times
