How to increase the sound on ICS? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
recently I'm using Android 4.0.1 on my tablet (my tablet-seller posted the image on his blog, it's the original image from the manufacturer). After upgrading my firmware the sound is a bit soft. It was louder before the upgrade (had Gingerbread running).
Someone knows where the sound driver lies? Or another way how to increase the volume on ICS? Have already maxed the settings.

[Q] Speaker issue

Hey guys,
I have to keep sticking external speakers/headset into my g tab and then remove them to get the speakers to work.
Is there a permanent resolution and stay on Vegan 7? Can it be resolved by downgrading to Vegan 5.1?
Thanks in advance!
I'm running
10" viewsonic g tablet
Mod Version Vegan-7.0.0-RC1 -Harmony
Build number GRI40
Kernel 2.6.32.36 cyanogenmod from pershoot
Did I post this question in the wrong area? I've posted it twice and gotten 0 responses.
Thanks,
Josh
I don't think there is a permanent solution to this one.
Try disabling any DSP enhancement apps, like DSP Manager in CM7, and install the latest Pershoot kernel.
I have the same problem but only existed in VeganTab ginger Edition. The other rom I get loud static sounds and rom go corrupted. Try different rom until it works.
it seems like any other music player installed other than default music player will cause the no sound on boot for me at least. Tested on Cmod7 and Vegan7
thanks guys

[Q] mic probleme during call samsung gt i5500

people who call me can not hear me
i have a samsung gt i5500 , but my microphone is so low
you have an idea for resolving this problems?
thanks
Are you using CM 20120206 [v2.0] ?
I had to downgrade to 1.9 because i was having the same problem.
BTW, i couldn´t apply the hotfix cuz i got a "currupt zip" error.
Holà boyz..
the microphone issues was dued to a psyche error; he soon provide a fix and after few hours a second fix, both into the same day of the 2.0 release..
The problem some users reported with the Corrupted file or in general with download not success with the hotfix was that the files were still without signature or its were not already materially available on the server.. that's why psyche told everybody to wait some time before try to download and flash the hotfix..
So now you should all have no prob..
P.S.: remember that if you didn't yet install any hotfix, you have to flash directly the hotfix2, nor the 1 and than the 2..
Thanks for the help!
I was able to download the hotfix now, thru the link you provided, so i´ll just try again.
what you mean about the CM 20120206 [v2.0] is the ROM ? i already try the Firmware android 2.1 eclair but the problems is the same, i use the MAD ROM to, but the problems is the same, the person who call me can not hear me
about the hotfix how to flash directly the hotfix2?
thanks
i use froyo 2.2 , and i try the MAD ROM , but i have the same problems, i try to modifier parametre in the service mode *#..... but i can't understand :s :s :s :s :s

sorry, my fault!!
I assume you was using the last CyanogenMod rom!! But I'm sure you could understand my - our - error, 'cause you don't say exactly what you was using and much of all because just the day you was writing your post it was released the version 2.0 of the Cyanogenmod porting for our phone - and it had an issue with the microphone!!!
It's incredible, isn't it??
So that's why we confused!!
Anyway, the problem you encountered with Android 2.1 and 2.2 it's really strange: indeed it's first time I hear about mic issues with stock rom..
Anyway, what I am asking now is: did you was able to use the mic beforen you had the problem or from the moment you buy you always had this problem??
I mean: could be an hardware error? Could be it an hardware broken problem?
the person calling me hears me only if I activate the loudspeakers, and this is often not practical because everyone hears me, but in the combined mode the person calling me can not hear me this is why I think c a software problem, I tried to change the parameters of service mode but without results,
what should I do?

hi,
Now I use a ROM original "I5500XXKJ3_I5500XXKJ3_I5500XXTIMKJ3_HOME" compatible with KIES,
for the first time it was normal, but when I flash another ROM I have this problem, I tried several ROM for fix the problem but without result, I even returned a 2.1 eclair but without result,
Now I put an original ROM but still the same problem,
the microphone is activated only when I activate the loudspeakers during the call, and also for recording a sound it is sooooo low, you hear nothing
this is the first time I meet a problem with the microphone of my mobile
you have an idea how change the parametre in the menu *#*#197328640#*#*
i choose Audio but i understn nothing, the parametre is in decibel
my menu look like this
i choose Audio and he give me :
[1]HANDSET
[2]HEADSET
[3]SPEAKER
[4]BT HEADSET
[5]3POLE HS
[6]REBUILD ALL
[7]TTY MODE SET
[8]MAX8899 AMP

I had the exact same problem; when I received or made a call, the opposite end could not hear me at all. It was the same with normal call, speaker on and with bluetooth car set - no outgoing audio.
I tried "update-cm-7-20120206-MADTEAM-galaxy5.zip" with and without hotfix2.
When I did a quick downgrade to 7.1.0 ("update-cm-7.1.0-galaxy5-v1.7.2-MADTEAM-signed.zip") everything works OK.
Anyone give me a quick info on what release / hotfix should work at the moment?
i try several ROM ,android 2.1 eclair , 2.2 froyo MAD ROM , CMode7... but no result,i have the same problems, i think we must change something in the service menu
help us please
i have samsung GT I5500
Oh, and if it matters any - when I installed the above said ROM did a complete wipe of data/caches (previous ROM was Samsung's orignal) and the baseband is "I5500XWJP4".
The new version is downloaded with RomManager.
But if you go to the last page of the topic, you can find the download links.

A its not the latest JB .
B possible faulty flash .
C Try a later firmware .
What do you use to measure the bass output .
D Try all the numerous sound modifications posted on XDA .
E JB is of course not released by Samsung you are using a test rom .

[Q] [CyanFOX 2.0 KitKat 4.4] Sound problem

Since I can't post in the official thread of the ROM since this forum considers me a "newbie" and suggests me to ask here, I'm doing exactly that.
I've installed the CyanFox 2.0 KitKat 4.4 ROM to my Galaxy S2 and it works great. Excellent performance and no crashes.
The only problem is that the sound is extremely low (yes, I've checked the volumes, they are at max) and also when choosing a sound or ringtone I can't prelisten them in the menu.
Any help?
Thanks
NEVERMIND SOLVED IT. CAN'T FIND HOW TO DELETE THE THREAD.

[Q] XT910 Microphone problem - low mic gain

Hello,
I am guessing that this is major problem in XT910 where people change their ROMS often. I found some threads about this problem, but no solution. I have CM 11 installed in my XT910 and when I am calling someone I need to speak very very lound - people say that they do not hear me or my voice is very low.
I checked on hangouts video call, and that problem does not occurs(same in shaazam - there is no problem with checking the song)
Should I install stock rom to my XT910, or maybe there is a other solution ? For example change only change RADIO (?) in handset?
Will I brick my phone if I want to install original stock JB on my rooted CM11 ?

UP :good:
Same thing with me. How to solve the problem and is it possible at all?
There is no way to deal with it for now. ?
Until some one will create tweak for the roms where you can change mic gain.
Like on my old Galaxy S1

You can't until one of the developers will create this if its possible for our phone's kernel.
This is sad
UPD Workaround
Register in build.prop from the string: ro.config.dualmic = true
