Hello guys
Today i am going to give you a very small tip may you people like it ....
i used 2.3.4_283 firmware in Arc for a long time , after that i flashed 42 firmware and feel that its drain battery fast as compare to 283 firmware either you are using you phone or it is in deep sleep mod
Then i flashed 58 firmware and after that 62 firmware but battery drains still fast
then i try one thing on my arc i get the Kernel from 283 firmware and flashed it on all three version of firmwares ( 42, 58, 62 ) and notice that the issue of fast battery drain is solved it is only because of 283 kernel
now i am using 42 firmware with baseband 64 and kernel from 283 firmware

It does'n matter what ever the firmware you are using or what ever the baseband you are using ....... you need to use kernel from 283 firmware only for low battery drains ..............

MY Recommendation
you can use any firmware but only use 283 kernel with baseband from (42 or 58) only

i attached kernel from global generic wold 283 firmware also...
How to flash different Kernels
1) connect your phone into fast boot
2) open cmd
3) fastboot devices
(write this command and enter it to check your phone is connected in
fastboot or not)
4) then write this and enter
fastboot flash boot kernel.sin
Done ..........
remember to copy kernel .sin file in that folder from where you are going to launch cmd
mate, that's a good idea, but you should mention that you can just flash the kernel by excluding the baseband and the system in flashtool
anyways i tried that 10 minutes ago and it ****in works ! thanks alot

you can flash the kernel.sin alone through fast boot mod
Doesn't work for me . Boot loop. Tried both .283 and .368 firmware kernels. (BB -36)

Battery life is always better on stock kernel, without OC.
Thanks a lot dude. It genuinely works. Thanks a lot.
I use the last .62 firmware with 64 baseband and no more drain battery. Today i use 12% of battery instead 45% for the same use of the telephon. I will install the 283 kernel for to do a test.
is the 2.6.32.9-perf kernel the one from .283? cos this kernel came with .42 when i flashed .42. Do the two have different version numbers?

In every stock rom the stock kernel have the same name like in 283, 42, 58, 62 firmwares
but only the name is same not the kernel
Now I m flashing.Tomorrow I will see if are any changes.
Update
After i've done this, my phone says that there is a new update. And that i have to upgrade.
Should i do this? I'm guessing that an upgrade will change the kernel back to what it was.

Brilliant, cheers mate
Today with 283 kernel, i used 20% of battery with the same use. Less better than the 62 for me. I continue the test for 3 charges of battery.
Works great. Thanks.
Btw, after reverting to stock kernel, wifi does not work anymore.
I cannot turn it on, it only shows 'Error'
I used doomkernel v15 before, do I need something like wifi patch just like the procedure of flashing doomkernel?
EDIT: Got it working. Flashed the stock modules and worked.

yes you are right
after flash the 283 kernel our mobile give us notification of new update available. but its not the new software this notification is come because we are using old kernel . you are already using the newly firmware so no need to update it again
but
if you update it again it will flash the whole rom again with kernel also....

May not be the case for everyone, but i am using .42 firmware with .36 baseband and kernel from .283 and my battery drain is amazing. 2 days, 10hours, 5minutes and still 54% battery remaining after average use.
hope this helps someone else

IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION;
MOST LIKELY SOMEONE HAS ALREADY ANSWERED IT SO:
(Sorry for the crappy drawing lol)
Q: I'm experiencing problems with my xRecovery?
A: Make sure you have the latest version of xRecovery if Wolf hasn't included it yet.
You can get it HERE. Flash this over current recovery and should be fixed.

A:Auto-brightness is not included in the settings, but it is on the widget. The second level on the power control widget is auto-brightness.
Once you have this turned on, you will notice that under high light conditions, e.g shining a lamp on it, the screen will turn to max brightness, under lower light condintions, it will slowly reduce to the adequate backlight. Yes, this is auto-brightness

Q:Random Rebooting?
A:You will have to try reflashing the ROM, if it still doesn't work, then reflash kernel/baseband ftf. If that still doesn't work, you will have to report this to wolf then.
Q:Battery Drain?
A: This may be caused by many things. E.g baseband, the apps you have installed, auto-syncing, GPS, 3G data etc. Baseband .71 may not be suitable for your area.
You may try the Battery Calibration method.
Q: What difference does Mobile Bravia Engine make?
A: It enhances photo and video quality, ONLY IN STOCK GALLERY AND VIDEO APP.

And the difference in this ROM to some other available is that Xrecovery is fully working and bugfree+FPS Uncap included and all my Tweaks from 2.2 ported and tested working. Camera is working fine too! Home button too. This is just as stable and fully working like stock official unmodified ROM but its alot lighter and tweaked!
Quick questions:
Is camera working?
Is it stable? (people were saying that ftf flashed one has problems)
How to root 2.3.3 official gingerbread? (not going back to 2.1)

Can I install this ROM wtih xRecovery 0.3 on rooted 2.3.3?
Hi Wolf, one question
- Install Custom Zip and choose Wolf_GB_2.3_TW.zip
- Flash FTF File [Kernel&Baseband 2.3] with Flashtool otherwise you will end in a Bootloop
Do we need to turn off the phone between these 2 steps?

I'm going to be slightly harsh here, but personally I feel this question is needed.
What does your ROM have that is different than the other MIUI ROMs out there?
Just a question...great job on the ROM, it's great seeing so many people interested in the X10, I'm just wondering because there's a lot of new MIUI ROMs coming out which are pretty much exactly the same except the theme...
Also, for the data disconnection issues, try basing the MIUI on the new CM7 FXP-30b, and try out Luke's kernel...there seems to be no data disconnects with that kernel.
You mentioned as requirement both CWM & Xrec . from what users have to flash this ?
@ kantk20111 - if this uses Xrec , i think that's the difference between other roms .
most of the miui 1.10.8 based on CWM including mine !
I tried to make a xrec version , but there are some issues like superuser & etc.
I'll contact Doom & try to get a solution cause its kernal related .

Has nothing to do with kernel, first miui based on cm7.
This build you can flash with xrecovery and use doom kernel v5 dual.
Iam now using lukes miui, no problems at all, but iam stuck on his kernel or doom v5a and iam a flash junkie so if iam on the road i want to flash if i see something nice.
But i can not because of the cm7 kernel. Need flashtool to change kernel.

Quick Review :
- Everything works!
- New bootlogo (SONY), new bootanimation (Walkman) and new baseband 72, old kernel 2.6.32.9
- Games work fine, you might notice a little lag, but since the OS install is fresh maybe that is why. I tested temple run, the accelerometer works fine and touches are responsive as they should be (infact i feel higher fps, not sure though).
- Accelerometer in normal app rotations might be a lil slow as compared to CM7.2. But thats not a major problem is it?
- Walkman app, launcher are the same, but with new icons from NXT theme
- As compared to my friend's neo v on .562, this is smoooooth....infact just like 2.3.4, quick and responsive
- Camera is the same as on Minicmsandwich lite AOSP
- Phone app (Infinite view) is slow, but is now perfectly resized for mdpi
- Calender & Calculator are same
- Two galleries - Xperia gallery(similar to 2.3.4 gallery) and ICS standard gallery
- Little jerkiness while recording 720p with image stabilizer ON, with it off, no problems.
- Track ID still wont work for lost DRM keys, unless u install the new version from Play store.
- Brightness Levels are less as compared to non stock roms like CM7.2, etc.
- Battery life needs to be tested!!!

Hey Guys who wants to use the LuPuS kernel built with linaro for stock roms ??
You can find more about the kernel here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1867265
A big thanks to wedgess for awesome kernel.
I actually have this kernel running on my mini pro
Want Proof ??
Here is screen shot
Guys If you want it, then I need some brave testers who are ready to get their device bricked.
Note: Testers are testing at their own risk. I am not responsible for any damages. I try my best to avoid any mistake from my side.
I will PM the kernel and wifi modules to the willing testers.
Here are few other Screenshots showing the included governors
nice job buddy.
but anyhow i'm not dumb to take such a risk
Edit: i was really shocked about the brick thing.
ok i'll try it.
Currently I am having only mini pro with me . Mini is with my friend who is not available. So I would be needing testers for LWW, Active and Mini
And the getting device bricked was a joke.
It won't brick your device. At the max it won't boot.
Edit: I have double checked the deconfigs so it won't brick your device.
I give it a try... :fingers-crossed:
I can test it on mini

You saying that The ones testing are dumb...
If you can't take some risks, you simply can't invent/discover something new
Flashing/testing a kernel isn't a big issue
I am ready to test the kernel on MINI if it supports CyanogenMod
Edit: oops... Just saw the Kernel thread mentioned it only supports stock ROM...
Don't have a stock based ROM right now...
But I, can test it after 2-3 days

I will release the kernel tomorrow i.e 1st Jan
Need people to test before it.
@ Other testers
I will PM the kernel to you soon.
Agree with the above poster but u wont brick your device either way. It just wont boot.
He has my full support to also bring u all my cm10 & 9 kernel as well. I just dont have time as I also support PLAY, ARC & S, RAY and all NEO devices.

Testers please post the results here on this thread
I jst tested ta lupus kernel for LWW, its great awesome and really fast, WOW!
stanlin salu sent me these pics on the What's app
I still need the tester for Active and conformation by Mini testers
Then I am gonna make a new thread in Development Section
Phone: st15i_Xperia mini
Result:
Rom booted successfully
the performance is good and boot speed is normal.(not too long)
i tested the benchmark on 1.4 ghz u can see result in picture below.(Rom:Ultimate HD)
wifi works fine after flashing moduls
the cpu frequency will set on 1.6 ghz on every boot.it is not good
Just tested it on my LWW...like stanlin salu said...it awesome... :good:

Ya i know it sets the man to 1.6 gonna decrease it to 1ghz and then make final version
Thanks every one for testing
Just flashed my NEW 'JJHYBRID AOSP 1.0' and everything more than great !
Best kernel available for Mini (st15i)
I've tested LuPuS kernel on my st15i for several days. I've tested EVERY kernel available for Mini (except Radeon which I'm going to test soon). From my point of view (overclocking + decent battery drain) it's the BEST kernel till now. I'm running my Mini OC (1,4 GHz - superbad - sio) and with minimal use (average: 30 min calls + 60 min WiFi per day) battery easily lasts for 48 hours whereas with similar use and MESA v2.5 (my previous favorite) never lasted more than 40 hours. So, excellent job !:good:
Just migrated to lupus with serenity v3 ROM on Mini Pro
awesome performance. Smooth as hell, no lags so far. Let's see how long the battery lasts :fingers-crossed:

That's interesting, I always wanted to increase the vibration intensity since I own this phone!!
I'm really considering the option of unlock the phone now
If I'm not wrong it's possible only with your kernel, since with stock rom there's no such "vtg_level" file right?

Since you can try, is it working also by increasing the value or is 29 a max value above which you can't go?
Thank you in advance

The scale is very sensitive
I did some tests here (I like the slightest vibration, so I use value 24)
Default is 29
The maximum is 31, the system is not able to go higher, it is also good for security, but I feel it slightly stronger :good:

Just tried, same problem here on a D6603 with a stock based rom ( fw 23.1.A.1.28 ).
The exact error is "Error Camera not avalaible" and the torch is not appearing at all in the quickpanel

This kernel is built from sources 23.1.A.0.690 and 23.1.A.0.726 (we do not have the sources of the current firmware)
and ramdisk is firmware 23.2.A.1.62
ramdisk can be the problem since they have some differences on camera
I suggest using a newer firmware ex .62
I use Firmware. 28 and moonwalker prevolution 1.0

@Gustavo RD78
Firmware: 23.2.A.1.62 is just a carrier update of T-Mobile and Vodafone (also a million times said in Z2 forum) and not newer then .28 !! So nonsense who said .62 is newer then .28 well atleast newer bloatware in that case
So you know that bro @eskamhl

I understood but as friend Pandemic said that .62 firmware is only a branded one from carriers, in fact all roms are still based on the .28.

Rom .28 and .62 were never quite the same, I found myself some differences on the camera (kernel and ramdisk must work together)
What I meant was that as I am using ramdisk .62 is indicated using a fw .62 to avoid these problems that were cited
.62 firmware is not only a carrier update T Mobile! The I am using is of .62 firmware from Claro Brazil!
Check xperifirm for yourself and see .62 in several other carriers not bloatware
An application present in .278 and .62 which are not found in other versions
If you still want, I can build a kernel with ramdisk .28!
I just want to make it clear that this has happened to me once I was with FW .726 to .278 ramdisk.

It would be great since I don't want to put a branded firmware and in addition I prefer to use an already avalaible custom rom
Thank you anyway

Here all was working fine with MW, did you tried to flash the rom -> boot into the os and then flash the kernel?
