[Q] Can't mount smb share [SGS2; CheckROM V5.5] - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi!
I can't find a way to mount smb shares. CifsManager and mount manager tells "no such device". As I found in xda and other places, it's all about cifs.ko module. I can't find it on phone. Usually it must be in /system/lib/modules/ but there is no such folder, only /lib/modules/ with few files there and no cifs.ko. I found cifs.ko and slow-work.ko somwhere on this forum, but it didn't work, even I pointed to that cifs.ko. Maybe not compatible with my device and CheckROM.
Can anyone help me with this? Maybe different ROM? I had problems with CyanogenMod - many items in market are not compatible with my phone, when using CyanogenMod.
My phone: Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100
Android version: 2.3.5
Baseband version: I9100XXKI3
Kernel version 2.6.35.7-I9100XKI3-CL577579 [email protected] #2
Build number CheckROM V5.5
Thank You!

Ok, not actual for me anymore because I made to fix market problem in CyanogenMod rom.
But anyway, someone else might have the same problem. So if you have any ideas, please post!

Same Problem here.
Does anyone know a solution?
Using checkrom. It does not work with the Standard-Kernel nor with ninpo and dark Night Kernel. "No such device"
When using Miui it worked fine. Is it because of this .ko files?
I cant find compatible ones neither.

cifs on my stock (but rooted) tablet - so confused...

Afternoon all...
Apologies if this question has been asked. I've been searching but getting myself confused with all the info.
I downloaded cifsmanager from market place and tried to run it. I found that it wasn't working. After a little reading, I was told I need the cifs.ko module.
I downloaded what I thought was the correct module, made sure that within cifsmanager, I had the correct path and it still doesn't work.
I've read on few threads that this will not work on the stock kernel and that pershoot's kernel will do the job.
I found a link to pershoot's kernels http://droidbasement.com/db-blog/ but now confused as to which one I could use.
I have a 16gb WiFi and 3g model, do I use this kernel?
"10.1 3G, Touchwiz UX (HC 3.2 (stock); GT-P7500):
boot-cm_2636.4_p4_ux_hc32-oc-xtra-vfpv3-d16_fp-121111.zip:"
I've extracted the cifs.ko from lib-2636.4_ux_hc32.tar.gz - the droidbasement.com website says to push the module I desire to /data/local/modules
Where do I push it to, the kernel zip file?
Thanks in advanced....

[Q] USB OTG with Custom ROM and Criskelo question

Hello my friends
I have 2 questions that i detect after flashing Criskelo ROM
1.
Since i flashed Criskelo ROM, i cant connect a keyboard and mouse anymore.
USB Sticks doesn't work too.
I come from Litening ROM, so what could be the problem?
I used the Search and I read in other Threads, that Samsung removed the usb otg function in a firmware is that right?
Differences between Litening and Criskelo:
Criskelo: 2.3.6 I9100XXKK5 Siyah-v2.4.2
Litening: 2.3.4 I9100XXKH3 ninphetamine 2.0.5
So is it the Android-Version, the firmware or the kernel?
And is it possible to solve this problem?
2.
I did'nt see any Criskelo Folder in my System under sdcard
No Criskelo-Addons Folder, which means no JKay and when i want to start JKay via Criskelo.apk it says:
Error 601: No correspondending Activity was found
Thanks for any help!

Pls help a newbie!
download criskelo rom again, it looks likes you have a corrupt version.
also check to see if the add on foldert is not on your external sdcard.
thanks
Thank you for the information!
I try this later.
But i think it doesn't help, because i had this Problem by UltraToxicRom too.
I made a full wipe when moving
Anoyone some information about the usb otg problem?
im using criskelo v34 rom and for me works otg cable, what kernel are you using?
Kernel Version
I'm using Kernel Version:
2.6.35.15-Siyah-v2.4.2+
I've tested
- USB Connector, which handles Mouse and Keyboard over Bluetooth (worked with Litening ROM)
- USB-Stick FAT32 (not tested with Litening)
Both didn't work with UltraToxic and Criskelo...
I didn't get the message, that usb got connected

Strange Thing
i had otg cable problems with 2.4.2 kernel version, try to flash latest version and see if it works
Try it Later
Thanks for Information
That is good possible then UltraToxic has 2.4.2 too i think.
so i'll inform later if it solve the problem...
If anybody has an idea about the Criskelo-Addon-Folder problem, pls say it.
I'm mainly interested in JKay, so if noone can help i install Jkay manually
direct link for jkay thread as a stand alone file.
pick the version that match your phone firmware and flash.

[Q] Tun.ko problem

Hi guys , this is my first post here and i hope you could help me
Today i rooted my Galaxy s II so i could use droid vpn
after rooting i installed Tun.ko
But unfortunately when i press install it keeps telling me
" Cannot fin a compatible tun module for your device ...."
Then i tried doing this manually ..
i moved different tun.ko modules into
"/system/lib/modules"(( there was no folder there called "modules" so i created it ))
But it keeps saying " Path to tun.ko not found "
i'm using the kernel 3.0.15-i9100xxlps-cl294511 "Android 4.0.3 "
You can see the problem in the attached pic.
Help please !!
I got same problem, i think thats why you have a custom kernel, because i see to someone with stock kernel and he have no problem. Or maybe cuz isnt compatible with ICS.
for neak also the same thing.....its kernel compatibility issue.
you can connect without tun.ko moudle as it is supported by default
no nead for tun.ko installer just droidvpn and it will connect , but you will not get full iptable support because of missing of this moudle , it is a known problem since any kernel even for gb
I have the exact same problem. Kernel issue. Mine is kernel version 3.0.13. Someone??

cifs for new stock kernel 3.1.10

Does anyone have or at least know where to find a cifs.ko that will work with the new android 4.0.4, the kernel version is 3.1.10 SEP-91 #1.
The upgrade was pushed to device over the air last night and of course broken the working module i had install.
Thanks,
Core
I will appreciate any hint as well
I'm searching for this as well, tried all the solutions and workaround found on xda and elsewhere, but no luck. Hopefully somebody will make modified kernel that has CIFS support soon for stock ics.
any news on this?

CF Root XXLPH 5.2 storage mount issues

Evening guys,
Hoping some people here can help me with this small dilemma.
I have read plenty about it but never found a solution to it.
OK so the other night I flashed chainfires CF Root XXLPH version 5.2 following all the instructions. Now I believe this version has storage mounting issues which are now evident on my GS2.
Basically my internal memory will not mount - I have tried everything to know avail.
For further info here's the details about my phone taken from settings
Android version 4.1.1
Baseband I9100XXLPX
kernel version 3.0.15 Siyah-52- V4.1.15+
AOKP version build 3
ROM - resurrection remix JB V3.8
Does anyone know how to get my internal memory remounted?
Also by rooting my baseband was XXLPH but now its XXLPX so does this help in any way?
Help is much appreciated
