Install ROM or theme over CM7 - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was wondering if I could install a ROM or theme over CM7? I would really prefer to install the Dark Fire Blue theme yet keep the functions of CM7. Will it work out or will I need some other ROM instead of CM7?

themes are only compatable with the build that they are based on,
eg. CM7, ATT 4.9.1
so the answer is no you would need to install a whole new rom

[Q] Can someone explain theme chooser for CM7

So i'm not sure how the Theme Chooser works. All the themes i've seen for CM7 are based off of the nightly build, so its not always kept up to date with the latest build.
Is it just because CM7 is still new and not in RC that themes are still being built with the whole ROM?

The theme Chooser is meant to give you options, you can change the look of CM7. They included 3 themes in there so far. Go in the market and type CM7 themes. You install them and they will automatically appear in theme Chooser. Try MAU5 OR HONEYBREAD, they look pretty clean! Reboot anfter choosing. You could also try theme mixer and flash it in recovery. They will always he making themes for this Rom as it is one of the most popular ones role usually run. Theme will be made during nightlies and I'm thinking even after the RC comes out. Hope this helps...

the sense theme is built into dr4...tdb updated it based on my updates to the independent theme here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=994561
I heard many of 2.9.2 themes work with DRv4, but flash it with your own risk. You can do Nandroid back up.

[Q] how to change default app icon ?

Is there any way for me to create a flashable zip perhaps, or anything which will change the default icons ?
I have the stock GB icons and i want the Faenza icons but i use the xperia s launcher, which does not support themes.
Which rom are you using now?(It may be lot more easy to answer if you let me know )
If you use CM7 or CM9 you can change icons through theme chooser-
In this case what you need to do is just build up APK that includes your icon pack.
For MIUI it's much easier to changes icons. Search for MIUI theme building on MIUI theme forums or here on XDA MIUI threads.
If you're using neither of above ROMs(like GingerBlur...based on Blur ROMs) it'd be bit more difficult-
There's two types of ROMs
-Deodexed ROMs are easy to change icons through CMW flash
-Odexed ROMs are hard to do it. You've got to deodex it beforehand
Some ROMs like Nottachtrix supports some themes so if you work on theme you should be able to do what you want.

[Q] Is it possible to port Alaq ICSTrix Theme to CSROM?

Hey all,
I just changed from NottachTrix to CSROM, and I wondered if you know if it is possible to take Alaqs ICSTrix Theme (I also like the Neutrino ROM's theme, but I cannot find any content on that one) which is for NottachTrix ROM and use it on CSROM? I tried flashing it via CWM but I always ended up in a bootloop. I hope you can help me because google could not.
best regards

Porting CM7 themes would be difficult, but possible. Porting GB236 themes would be pretty straightforward. You could try asking bernardwilkes3 over in the Themes and Apps section. He recently shared some nice themes for CSROM.

[Q] Is possible to get Theme Chooser to a stock rom?

Hi, I feel a little stupid because I wanted to get Theme Chooser, like in Cyanogen Mod, but in a stock based rom (Real ICS).
So... I tried flashing with this MOD http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2050462 But I did'n read all the post and I discover that It's not compatible with stock roms... Now I can't change a theme because the rom says me "No applications can perform this action." I did't do a backup before so I don't want to flash again my rom, any solution to this? is possible to get Theme Chooser to a custom room?
You have to flash a stock rom using flash tool, there's no other way.
Every CM-based custom rom includes the Theme Chooser, so you have to use another rom.
