I'm coming over from nexus. GS3 is a lot beautiful and better and cm team has announced that porting cm10 will be a piece of cake. If your phone supports CM9 then cm10 will be very easy. So jelly bean is out of question.
Thing is price. It's about half the cost of gs3.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
Actually i heard dat teh iphone is de best. So im getin one.
Please feel free to get any other phone besides the gs3. Please.

i think s3 is betyer than nexus, as i like the bigger mon which i can hold n use by one hand
Of course, the S3 is the better phone. But for +50% price you get only +20 more features/power, because the Nexus already is a very well speced phone. So everyone has to decide for himself, if it's worth the cost.

only +20 power ??????? you are not serious i think....in terms of performance and power the Galaxy SII is better than the Galaxy Nexus...the Galaxy SIII and Galaxy SII use the same GPU but clocked at 400 Mhz for the S3 wich gives you the double of performance....and everyone knows that the Quad Core Exynos 1.4 Ghz is a beast......
Although the price of the S3 hardware necessary to future and more seamless experience and of course more enjoyable experience. The Galaxy Nexus has older hardware and is not running smoothly.

Don`t feed the trolls
Nexus is a crap phone with seriously underpowered hardware. The graphics chip in the Nexus alone is from 2010 and is absolutely underpowered.
Jelly Bean had to be showcased on a stupid slow motion video to show a very very tiny difference in speed between the ICS and JB and to be fair, my GS3 runs twice as fast as the Nexus sporting JB so please.. come back when the new Nexus phone comes out
Actually, I have just returned to my Nexus. I do believe the S3 is a better phone, but Jelly Bean on the Nexus is just pure heaven I will start using my S3 when CM10 is ready, but until then, I have to say the Nexus is the better phone (except for the camera unfortunately)...
i love my gs3 but that jb it's looks awesome on the nexus

As soon as I have time to try one out, I will decide. I do think it looks better.
I have both. My gnex has pretty much been collecting dust since I got the s 3. Gnex isn't a bad phone, being first to get the updates is nice.
Still this phone has much better battery life, much more storage capability, and a better camera. It was the lack of an sd slot which drove me to the s3. I filled up the 16gb storage on the gnex real fast.
Jellybean is nice but it's not nice enough to sacrifice the extra performance, battery life, camera, and storage capability.
Also this version of touch wiz is boss. It's like having an ice cream sandwich drenched in chocolate sauce. It's the little things I keep finding which is why this is the phone that sits in my pocket now. For example to silence an alarm in the morning I just put my Palm across the screen.
Anyone who tries to claim the gnex is the better phone to go for is flat out kidding themselves. When the s3 first released I tried to tell myself I didn't need one because we will be first to get jellybean and s3 isn't much of an upgrade. Then my friend got one and once I had a play with it and saw his much faster it was even with all those features I just had to have one.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
GS3 already as smooth as Jellybean. Gnex is old phone from 2010 (last decade). The choice is very obvious unless you can't afford GS3.

Finally made the jump today! Got a SGS3 and a 16gb sd!
Galaxy Nexus is not from 2010.
Its from 2011.
Jelly Bean is great and you get the stock Google UX and consistent support. If your worried about hardware specs then you will want to upgrade your phone every 3 months.
Personally, I love my Nexus more than my SGS3. Also Nexus has a lot more Dev support.
I also read an article from Intel saying Android is not optimized for quad core and I have not yet seen an app/game that utilizes the GS3 specs just yet... and by the time apps are updated and are better optimized, the next Nexus will be announced.
Just my two cents.

I just wanted more storage. I can fit a LOT more music on here and since I canceled my XM in my car, I needed it.

Just recieved my inc4g from let'stalk ...

Great phone.. love the feel... The phone is super snappy no lag to date... Just a great deal especially for 20 bucks I paid for it on Sunday....

Help me decide. Galaxy Note or Galaxy S3?

Getting a new AT&T phone on Tuesday and can't seem to pick between the Galaxy Note or the Galaxy S3. I know the specs for each and will be replacing the stock firmware with AOSP, so I'm pretty indifferent about stock software features. Tell me about your experiences with these phones and what you would recommend.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Have you played with both phones in the store. All things considered i would get the not because you can't do anything on an S3 that can't be done from your note, but there are a lot of things the not can do that the S3 can't
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk 2
I've played with a bunch of GS3s, never got to play with a GNote. I've always loved the look and specs of them, though. I hear the GNote 2 is going to be announced soon, so I might just hold out for that.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
I'm actually getting the gs3 in addition to the note I already have! My wife will take one and I will take one. Havent decided which but with Google sync I think we will switch back and forth because they're both great devices. I don't use the touchwiz spen apps at all Cuz I'm on aokp and will be on the gs3 so aside from the slight screen difference I really dunno what the diff would be

:silly: funny that every time a new size comes out we like its perfect. I can remember when 4 inches was the hotspot and 4.5 was too big, then 4.5 was perfect and 4 was too small. now 5.3 vs 5.5 lol. One thing everyone can agree on tho is iphone 3.whatever is way too SMALL.
I don't know how people get around playing with that tiny iphone, it's like tryng to eat a meal with a kid's toy tea set.
OP go with the note and we'll help you root it, overclock it, and flash a smooth as silk rom... You'll be saying SG... what?

[Q] Is this worth an upgrade from Galaxy S2?

I can get this phone for about 300. I am using the Galaxy S2 which is the perfect phone, great size, fits in my pocket, barely any lag, and the screen looks superb.
But I am kind of curious on the Note. I think it'll be a much greater entertainment system, especially for gaming and Youtube (I have unlimited data plan).
I could technically try the note for a week then sell it again for the same price. Worth the risk right?
Great purchase if you can part with the cash

I ditched my Galaxy nexus for the Note and have been very happy. It did take me a while to find a ROM that I liked which was stable enough for me. I stopped with black star VIII. I wanted full SPen use, and he offers Nova installed on top if his TouchWiz base. I no longer miss my Nexus. The first couple of days were touch and go...
I would say definitely make the jump from your S2. As you said, you can flip it if need be.

There are several good JB rooms, but I keep wanting the s-pen apps. That's the whole reason I got this phone. I'm using Blackstar VIII and like it a lot. Touch Wiz runs very smooth. I'm excited for their to be an official JB release son the cooks can get their hands on it.
If you do want to run JB, I've used both Paranoid Android and Liquid Smooth. They both got the job done with minimal hickups. Minimal = almost none.

For JB I've been using slimbean for a while, but liquid is also good as the above poster mentioned.

Just flashed 1020 Liquid rom over 1012. It is working GREAt for me smooth FAST and no reboot for me. Love it!
Wait for the note 2 that will have official jellybean. This note will not
I went from a gs2 to the Note & I'm very happy. This was way before the Note 2 was due to come out though, so I'd say hold out for that.

I just got a Note 2 (from iPhone 5)

I was sick and tired of waiting for a possible jailbreak for the iPhone. I decided that I would pay for the Note 2 full price and decide if it was for me (14 days to return it to Verizon for a $35 restocking fee). I just got this bad boy last night, rooted, unlocked it, flashed it to beans, configured STsettings and this phone is blazing fast. I felt that Chrome was a bit laggy (performance wasn't as smooth as Safari was on my iPhone l) so I picked up Dolphin and it's as smooth as butter.
This isn't the first Android phone that I used. I had the OG Droid, Galaxy Nexus, and the HTC Rezoound. This is by far the best phone that I have used.

Welcome back to the good side (android ). I was going to suggest dolphin but I see you found it. Thats the only browser I've been using since I got an android phone. I love the swipe on the left side of the screen for your bookmarks. I too am running beans and actually like touchwiz on this phone because the spen makes it totally worth it. If your looking for another good app to use with your spen check out gmd spen control. Its great you can literally use the spen for everything then. But good luck with the phone glad you like it and can share in this forum.

Thanks techgov.
The reason why I prefer Dolphin is because its tap to zoom feature is right on the spot. I'm an Avid iOS user (still have my iPad on iOS 5.1.1 so Safari has spoiled me.
A negative thing that I have noticed thus far is that the touch sensitivity is not as accurate as my iPhone 5. But I can't blame Samsung since this screen is so huge. I also need to install Swift key. This AOSP keyboard isn't doing me justice.

Excellent choice for dumping the iPhone 5... You will not regret it. This phone is the best thing out!
Today I had to check some stuff on my iPhone 5 (it's not activated), and boy did I feel like I was using a child's toy. The thing felt so small and tiny. Honestly the note 2 feels just right. I'll be keeping my iPad 3 but there's no way that I can go back to the iPhone after getting spoiled by the Note 2.

Normally I am a big fan of AOSP but since the Note 2 has some special functionality, I am using as-close-to-stock as possible. And CleanRom is ideal.
