I'm coming over from nexus. GS3 is a lot beautiful and better and cm team has announced that porting cm10 will be a piece of cake. If your phone supports CM9 then cm10 will be very easy. So jelly bean is out of question.
Thing is price. It's about half the cost of gs3.

Actually i heard dat teh iphone is de best. So im getin one.
Please feel free to get any other phone besides the gs3. Please.

i think s3 is betyer than nexus, as i like the bigger mon which i can hold n use by one hand
Of course, the S3 is the better phone. But for +50% price you get only +20 more features/power, because the Nexus already is a very well speced phone. So everyone has to decide for himself, if it's worth the cost.

only +20 power ??????? you are not serious i think....in terms of performance and power the Galaxy SII is better than the Galaxy Nexus...the Galaxy SIII and Galaxy SII use the same GPU but clocked at 400 Mhz for the S3 wich gives you the double of performance....and everyone knows that the Quad Core Exynos 1.4 Ghz is a beast......
Although the price of the S3 hardware necessary to future and more seamless experience and of course more enjoyable experience. The Galaxy Nexus has older hardware and is not running smoothly.

Don`t feed the trolls
Nexus is a crap phone with seriously underpowered hardware. The graphics chip in the Nexus alone is from 2010 and is absolutely underpowered.
Jelly Bean had to be showcased on a stupid slow motion video to show a very very tiny difference in speed between the ICS and JB and to be fair, my GS3 runs twice as fast as the Nexus sporting JB so please.. come back when the new Nexus phone comes out
Actually, I have just returned to my Nexus. I do believe the S3 is a better phone, but Jelly Bean on the Nexus is just pure heaven I will start using my S3 when CM10 is ready, but until then, I have to say the Nexus is the better phone (except for the camera unfortunately)...
i love my gs3 but that jb it's looks awesome on the nexus

As soon as I have time to try one out, I will decide. I do think it looks better.
I have both. My gnex has pretty much been collecting dust since I got the s 3. Gnex isn't a bad phone, being first to get the updates is nice.
Still this phone has much better battery life, much more storage capability, and a better camera. It was the lack of an sd slot which drove me to the s3. I filled up the 16gb storage on the gnex real fast.
Jellybean is nice but it's not nice enough to sacrifice the extra performance, battery life, camera, and storage capability.
Also this version of touch wiz is boss. It's like having an ice cream sandwich drenched in chocolate sauce. It's the little things I keep finding which is why this is the phone that sits in my pocket now. For example to silence an alarm in the morning I just put my Palm across the screen.
Anyone who tries to claim the gnex is the better phone to go for is flat out kidding themselves. When the s3 first released I tried to tell myself I didn't need one because we will be first to get jellybean and s3 isn't much of an upgrade. Then my friend got one and once I had a play with it and saw his much faster it was even with all those features I just had to have one.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
GS3 already as smooth as Jellybean. Gnex is old phone from 2010 (last decade). The choice is very obvious unless you can't afford GS3.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Finally made the jump today! Got a SGS3 and a 16gb sd!
Galaxy Nexus is not from 2010.
Its from 2011.
Jelly Bean is great and you get the stock Google UX and consistent support. If your worried about hardware specs then you will want to upgrade your phone every 3 months.
Personally, I love my Nexus more than my SGS3. Also Nexus has a lot more Dev support.
I also read an article from Intel saying Android is not optimized for quad core and I have not yet seen an app/game that utilizes the GS3 specs just yet... and by the time apps are updated and are better optimized, the next Nexus will be announced.
Just my two cents.

I'm thinking of this too. If the size isn't an issue for you then I'd say go for it. Better screen res, bigger, bit faster, it's god damn sexy. If I had the cash I'd do it today, but I have to wait a bit.
better wait for SIII
change to galaxy note now? from an sgs2
sgs3 will come in march. htc one x is there
there is no reason at all to step back to an old phone
I would definetely wait for the SIII! The SII isn't an old phone so i would just wait a few months until the SIII becomes cheaper. But if you really love the GNote, then just go for it
I made that upgrade and I just love my Note, screen size is just perfect for me. Im not waiting for SGSIII I'm gonna hold to this Note and upgrade it when Note II/or Note S is out
Played with Note few days and first impression is that it is slower than SGS2 but with better screen..........it is too big for my taste and everyday use so i will stick with SGS2...........
Note too big for me.
will keep using gs2 until gs4 or 5, until gs2 get old. get slower when android os upgrade to 4 5 6.......

After one year with the SGS2 I don't think I will buy Samsung anymore. don't get me wrong, the sgs2 is great hardware wise and touchwizz isn't all that bad (well the launcher is, horizontal scrolling, seriously who thought of that!? but there are plenty of replacements) but it just doesnt feel as polished as sense
i'd say go for it. mates got a htc one and its so f**kin hideous. seriously, its like it has downs. i can't believe some places are asking £41.00 per month and 29.00 down for the handset...a complete piss take.

sooo just wait for galaxy s3 it will blow away anything on the market . . im sure about that
ow shoot i forgot ONE s use super amoled too -,- but the pentlie one
I will answer for what I surly know.
And...
I was never satisfied about cm9 nor cm7 when comparing to the stock.
of curse cm good if you sacrifice some features. BUT if you want full hardware and softwar harmony, the stock is waaaay better.
if you want to be happy with cm9 you should get galaxy nexus because it's the only device trule open source.

one S is now as slim and light as S2.
should have better camera.

Hello.
So, Yeah. I'm going to get something new.
After I had unfortunate accident when my Droid RAZR broke in my pocket without any crash, I'm receiving new one for warranty and decide to change something, because I hate when phone breaks without reason
I live in Poland, so I need something that reach europe.
What I need... Specs comparable with RAZR (CPU and RAM. Some nice GPU would also be nice), Screen at least same quality as it and overall nice quality.
It would be also welcome to be easily moddable with decent amount of Custom ROMs for it. Official/Unofficial CM support is also welcome.
And one more thing. No SGS2. I'm tired of it.
So. Any propositions?
Thanks in advance!
Galaxy S II is old, why would anyone suggest it with the Galaxy S III is out? If you're tired of Samsung then go for an HTC One X. If not, the Samsung Galaxy S III is waiting to love you. I'd suggest a Nexus but you seem to be pretty content with rooting and ROMs so I guess it isn't necessary.
How about Galaxy Note 2? Supposed to be announced at end of month

Ooh, go for the Xperia gx. Actually, scratch that. I don't think it's available in Europe yet... maybe the acro s... damn I'm not really sure when it comes to Europe.
Sent from my X10i using xda app-developers app
go for the one X, but rooting it might be a bit difficult, if so, then go with a nexus!
I would suggest a Galaxy Nexus. Nexus devices always get the official updates first and will be supported for a long time (for example: Nexus S got JellyBean, Galaxy S which has almost the same hardware has not even gotten official ICS...)
Get Galaxy Note 2. It will be released in few days.
Galaxy s3 is an awesome choice too.

The nexus s is very close in spec to your RAZR. The camera isn't as nice, but fantastic device none the less. You can get them cheap right now too.

If you can get a Galaxy S III go for it because Samsung just came out with the official jelly bean OTA , otherwise Galaxy Nexus ftw...
The Galaxy Nexus does not have a gorilla glass display , only a scratch resistant one...I haven't really tested mine by putting it in my pocket with my keys lol, but If you get a decent screen protector you won't have any problems...
Gorilla Glass is a big plus , but its a small price to pay for the software experience you're getting out of this phone...Pure AOSP Android experience , you will get the latest updates FIRST, and not have to wait like with the SIII for example...or any other phone for that matter...
Plus its a pretty powerful phone..well worth its money right now if you don't care about the mediocre camera...(which I personally think is fine...1080p video at 30fps , with decent lighting it records great... Photos are OK as well so...)
OR if you're good at waiting you can wait for the new nexus to come out that might have a GG display, but Google hasn't even announced it officially yet so...

I would agree in some point. Yeah it is got a very good graphics card and all. But you might wanna go a little more future proof with the 2GB RAM option. Not that you need/use it all but its worth having for the future. Im always going with the Note series now but the Nexis 4 is a pretty solid buy

S3 wins hands down. Tho I would recommend getting sony because don't delay the update
I disagree.
Bells and whistles like smart stay that doesn't even work properly after the jellybean update or a maybe slightly better camera (though I don't find much difference) doesn't outweight not having proper multitask. Also, neither touchwiz nor aosp have the nexus smoothness. Even my dad's former galaxy nexus feels slightly better than my s3.
If you can live with not having an sdcard or a removable battery, I'd say the n4 provides a better user experience (did try it for about a month). The only reason I'm not getting the n4 is because I'm waiting out the n5.

This is a joke, right? S3 is in overall better then the nexus 4. S3 will get 4.4. Regional lock can be removed. Also SD-Card and removable battery is essential for a phone in my opinion. (Plus, the N4 is an Lg device ) So if you don't plan to go from S3 to N5, stick to the S3!
